We started going here instead of the Webster location because the service and food is better. We love the chicken and shrimp fajitas and the chori pollo - if you’re ever unsure of what to get, anything on the menu really is a great option! Have yet to be disappointed, and love this locations service and quality of dishes.

The closest thing to Mexican food, but when you are far from your beautiful land it tastes heavenly.

Came here for my Mom’s birthday with a party of 14 people. Excellent service (Noah was our server), excellent food, great experience! Highly recommend.

This Mexican restaurant is in a prime location at the corner of 441 and 250 in Penfield. The food and the people are very kind, very nice and I enjoy coming here.

Unfortunately, they do not offer free Wi-Fi at this location while (Monte-Guest) is broadcasted. So, I am unable to do my "after work" here. With that, I will be seeking another location to relax and finish work with a drink.

The food was really great, service outstanding! They fell short on being stocked in the bar, they were out of many different varieties of tequila. I would definitely go back!

Nice Mexican restaurant love it the staff very helpful specialy the girl at bar whit her like greenish eyes recommend.this was at the Penfield location.

I was there last night the food was OK We barely saw the servicer.she took three table orders all at once. My daughter order to go food she waited 20 minutes for her food and she ordered ahead of time I will not be returning do you restaurant ever again

Awful. Carnitas were dry and had zero flavor. I make them all the time, they're not difficult to get right. Stale tortillas and half the order missing. What a joke.

Definitely not authentic Mexican. Plates were hot but food was not. Portions small for the price and so-so quality. Even rice was subpar! Won't return.

I think this is the largest Mexican restaurant in Rochester. I later came to know they have branches. I will try all those. Despite of large place it felt crowded, then I thought it must be great place and I was not wrong.
I ordered Enchiladas De Mole. Beans was served in that edible tortilla cup. Tastes great. Prices are decent. Hope the service was little bit faster.

Taco Tuesdays are great, 5 tacos for $5. All have to be the same, hard/soft shell, ground beef or ground chicken. Warm chips and fresh salsa for the table. Waiter was very good. The food came out fast.

The food here is typically great. I think that yesterday 5/15 which was a Sunday happened to be a bad day for them. From what I could gather there was only 1 cook and the entire restaurant plus outdoor seats were full. I waited 1hr25 for my takeout and unfortunately was missing food and it was cold.

Excellent drinks, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. We came in for a birthday celebration and were greeted with singing and a dessert. Check this place out if you are in the area!

I'll usually come here with a friend, and have margaritas, the good ones, and order off the a la carte menu, specifically their bean and cheese corn enchiladas which are quite nice. The chips and salsa make a great snack before the meal.

I come here for lunch during the week. The staff is very friendly and the food is served hot and quick. I've never had a bad meal at any of their locations.

The only thing that saved them is that the food was delicious I understand mistakes happen especially when they're really busy but long story short went to pick up food they did not put all our bags together so I had to go home only to find out that they were missing one of our meals and drive all the way back to pick it up. No compensation offered and I had to ask them to remake the meal so it would be fresh

Very good Mexican food and drink (great Margarita's) but go during off-peak hours or be prepared to wait.but worth it.

The food and service is always excellent but last night the service was above excellent. I left my credit card on the table and our waiter ran to our car in the parking lot to return my card. Thank you for your honesty

Nothing but great things to say about this penfield staple. Food is authentic and the staff is outgoing. I suggest the margarita with a corona and enchiladas!

Good Mexican food. The refried beans are nice and moist and not dry like some other Mexican restaurants. Guac is not too spicy either. I like the pablano pepper. The wraps for the fajitas are a little small so you may need 4 or 5 for your meal.

The food and service was great. Even though they were under staffed the night we were there, the service was very good. Definitely going back.

I brought my order back to penfield Monte Albans. It was missining more than half the order thatI paid for. Jessica stuck her fingers in my food. Started tossing it around with fingers, and swearng at me.

Love The Monte Alban in Penfield. Service is kind of slow now do to Covid and staffing issues but those problems never affect the quality of the food.

We try every single Mexican food restaurant there is. This one is pretty good. I'd say better than the new one in Pittsford Plaza, that one is pretty good too but not as much flavor.

Love the place. Dishes not always look and taste the same, but they when they are good they are amazing. Been here many times, and not once left disappointed. This is why I keep coming back I guess:)

Came in for the music on Thursdays and the excellent food. Love the Quesadillas. Nice atmosphere.

Those location is clean and bright with plenty of seating, including outdoor seating, weather-permitting. Large parking lot. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food was both tasty and well presented. The free chips were fresh and perfectly salty, although I would recommend ordering queso or guac as the salsa is not my favorite. My favorite of the MA locations; looking forward to returning soon!

Cute atmosphere n family friendly. Food was ok, but a bit oily. Flan was too thick and cheesy and too sweet - missed a straight forward custard flan. Generally enjoyed the experience, with pretty reasonable choice.

Never been at a restaurant were the drinks was better than the food. The food tasted like the chefs were on autopilot and gave up on their craft. I hope they get passion back. Will not be going back to this restaurant.

We eat here often and always enjoy the food. Whether we eat in or take out we are rarely disappointed. Service is always good.

The food is just ok, my service today was bad (usually it is not) waited almost 20 mins to get waited on and was about to leave

Had the taco salad with hamburger. Very good, lot's of guacamole, which I love, and a good amount of all the other ingredients. The shell bowl was nice and crispy. I couldn't finish the whole serving but ate so much that I had no room to order flan. Very sad about that, but happy with the meal and service.

Great service! Friendly servers. Love the Polo Loco. Drinks are strong. I recommend the avocado Mexican love this dip! I would recommend. We go often!

Up date: still my favorite Mexican place. Food and drinks are still the best. I have tried many others and they do not compare!

We do have our favorite waitress. Lets see if I can try and say it with letters. Ready. Ya -Tees she said like the car when we first met. Yah-Dees. Well no matter they see us and they know if she is on duty we want to sit in her section.

If you are lucky enough to have her you will be comparing her to every one who ever waites on you any where. People will leave if she is not working. Truth!

There has only been one other person we loved as much as her at that was a gentleman that waited on us at Otto Tomattos. But that is for another review.

If I could give zero stars I would. The service was horrible they messed up all of my family’s orders multiple times and the server only came a handful of times to check on us. Then we waited 20 minutes to get are check after only getting one meal taken off. For now on my family is not coming to this location. DONT RECOMMEND!

My fiancée and I decided to try the Penfield location tonight and we weren't happy with our waitress. She took forever to bring us anything, nonetheless didn't ask us if we would like another basket of chips. Was not on task/ focused on her customers. Needless to say she didn't deserve a tip. Food was delicious as always. We'll stick with the Webster location for future meals.

They used to make the guacamole table side fresh in good sharing portions as a appetizer. Now it pre made and it's easy to tell sure to the avocado starting to brown and how quick they bring it over to the table. Overall service was great but food was lacking from my past experiences

Homemade salsa and they actually marinate their carne asada properly. It's a rarity in this area to find good Mexican food and this place is top notch. Friendly, good service with great food. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food was great. It has been over a year and a half because of CUOMO-19.so nice to see people worKing and enjoying life again without a mask on.

Ill start with my waitress was awesome as well as the food. But for the bartender with the blonde and black hair he was ignorant, our waitress had to make her own drinks which included our table and more, durning the busy time. The bartender also refused to help, which looked to be a new employee with making drinks. He needs fired. And the manager refused to speak to me.

We left before our food came. Had to ask 3 times for a glass of water. Waited nearly an hour for food and left and went to Taco Bell.

Went here for my girlfriends birthday. Arrived a little after 6 (came from an eye appointment and they were closing). Was sat immediately, server arrived fairly quickly, apologized for being busy. No problem, ordered drinks and queso, came fairly quickly. Chips ran out server came, asked for more chips, server disappeared, 15 min later asked us how we were doing, we requested chips, sometimes it happens.server disappeared, we saw her circulating other guest tables, no chips. 20 min later Girlfriend goes in to request chips. 20 min go by, no chips, ask server for more chips third time, she brings them. 30 min pass still no entree.we go in to request our food to go. Manager says idk what’s going on we are really busy. No apology. We won’t return to this restaurant, which has good food, but terrible service.

Their standards dropped immensely in this past year. Frozen pork. Frozen chicken. We used to be regulars but we wont be back for a few months to see if anything’s changed. June 2021.

Dined at Monte tonight with my son. I can’t understand why during a heatwave, the management is stingy with the AC. I moved tables in search of a cooler spot, did not work. I asked both our waitress and the host up front to inquire about cooling the place down. Nothing. Absolutely unacceptable to have to sit and try to eat spicy Mexican food being that uncomfortable. Being a paying customer, you expect the restaurant you choose to make every effort to provide a comfortable environment. Really bad job. Not sure I’m going back.

I've gone here for years but it seems the quality in food and service has decreased recently. Wasn't impressed with my last visit. They got my order wrong, wasn't very flavorful or seasoned well and I barely saw my server.

Website says they accept reservations however when they were called the person on the phone said no 1st come 1st served AND they were rude

We where pleasantly surprised with this Monte Alban's in Penfield. Their service and food is exceptional compared to the the bad experience at the Monte Alban's in Webster that we had last month. We will definitely be going back to this Penfield restaurant location. Just stupendous!

Gone down hill. I have been there before one of my favorites. Sadly that made a lot of changes not for the better. The server was great for being the only one when we got there.

Service was pretty good but the food was too greasy. Would have liked to see the steak quesadilla fill the entire tortilla not just the bottom half. Might have been an off day because it was a Sunday but we were pretty disappointed.

I always have an absolutely wonderful time at this place. I'm not saying I'm without any complaints though, I do feel like in the last couple of years they have become extremely stingy with the amount of meat that they put on their menu items.

But the staff is exceptional. And only one time have I had an issue with my order being incorrect.

So I would absolutely recommend this place for a great time and a fairly decent and EXTREMELY flavorful meal.

We LOVE this food. However, the last 4 times we have done a pick up order at Penfield, there was an issue -the printer jammed and they lost the order (had to wait 30 minutes, no apology) ; ordered something from the menu and when arrived told was no longer an option (refund was offered with no apology) ; orders have been slightly wrong (ordered fish tacos and received shrimp) ; the male host is rude, argumentative and appears confused. We have noticed multiple staff not wearing masks (Covid-19 pandemic ongoing as of this review) or wearing their masks incorrectly (not over the nose). These reasons are enough to not recommend and likely not go back anymore.

I went here with a friend and the booth that we had was wobbling moving around all over the place. I ordered a frozen margarita and it wasn't frozen or on the rocks and it tasted bad. When we told the waitress about our table wobbling all over the place she didn't apologize neither did she give us a different booth. I had chicken street tacos and my chicken was dry and didn't have a good taste to it. Overall it wasn't a bad experience and I was disappointed at the customer service.
