Monarch Rooftop

You should never go to this place. The woman in the frontdesk… omg… I really hope she gets fired because you just can’t host people this way. At this point it’s not even bad talking, she’s just being mean. This kind of attitude is just so bad for business. I know they don’t care because they have so many people coming so they don’t have to be nice, but there is limits. I hope someday people won’t be as nice as we’ve been with her.

Views and drinks in a gorgeous atmosphere! When I visited they seemed to be slightly understaffed.

Wide open space with tons of seating. Has a bunch of couches. Looked like you needed to reserve them. Great service. Good cocktails.

Amazing view of the Empire State Building. Not a fan of their house cocktails, would stick to the standard ones.

They ate getting 1 start for sole fact that when I wanted to visit this place I had a minor in my group, which they wouldn’t allow in, and it was during lunch time

Cocktails were decent. Good food.
The view and atmosphere are definitely the highlight. Recommend going at least once.

Lots of eye candy for the girls and the guys. Had an amazing time recently at the Monarch, the views live up to the hype, the staff is amazing and a young cool vibe 21 to 40 crowd, if on a tight budget this might not be for you. I will definitely be back, shout out to my "candy". Glen my bartender and to Mike my favorite bouncer in NY!

I had no idea this would end up being my among my top 10 places to go for nightlife. The energy, the vibes, the music, everything was lit.

Our server/ waitress was awesome and our interaction with the manager was great. Prices were decent. Happy hour is definitely worth it. The sangria was excellent. Good job guys.

View of the empire state building can't be beat - very fun vibe for a date or classy night with friends. They enforce the dress code so make sure you plan accordingly - it's more of an upscale vibe rather than casual. Service can be slow when it gets busy.

Friendly staff and the view is amazing. I know its a bar with bites but they can definitely add more to the food menu, perhaps a dessert also. Great visit tho!

We love rooftops bars but often the power hungry and ability to communicate not a strength of bouncers or doormen but will say big Mike and security guy at the monarch make showing up a pleasure.

Truly a great great afternoon this past Friday at the Monarch, funky decor, nice staff, sounds system that plays a cool jazzy/funky mix. Our waitress was amazing but lets be real rooftops drinks are expensive but the Monarch had great creative drinks that made it worth while, the door host/bouncers were pleasant and Big Mike is always one of reasons to go to the Monarch.just a great great time

For the Ambience and music it’s quite expensive. Surely recommend for the view and late night hangout place. But the staff downstairs at the entrance was absolutely not so welcoming. 3 stars for the view from the top

We stopped here for afternoon drinks before catching our train home from Penn Station. The staff were all very friendly, the drinks were great, and the views were pretty good too! We sat facing the Empire State Building. We only stayed for about an hour, but that was plenty of time for a couple of cocktails before walking to Penn. Definitely would go back. Be sure to make a reservation.

Well i have been cautious but trying to enjoy roof top venues that are open. I can say after visiting several that are open that most have similar drink prices, furniture and views in general similar, some places you cant find a manger to save your life, most do not have cover charges but some do during covid, security at most roof top lounges similar but sound systems really vary and only the Monarch has a sound system that rocks and several staff members that really make my past visits fun. Adam is full of energy, the hostess's are adorable and attentive and the guy that seems to run the show there is called Hubba Hubba, he's a door host, security and floor manager.the Monarch has issues with their space and restrooms that are right by the elevators which cause delays and at times confusion but the Monarch is my place and waiting for the re opening. Im ready to buy my New Years Eve tickets!

Robert was so kind and really brought me in to this place it's my first time and i was so pleased with the service music and drinks.definitely would come back

Super cute rooftop bar. Indoor and outdoor seating. Drinks are priced like you would expect for Manhattan rooftop bar! Had an appetizer and drink with a friend, good music and weather was mild so it made for a nice location to chat outside and take in the beautiful night views of the city.

Im hoping my favorite place in NY will be opening soon as i like most of us go crazy in our apartments.lol I'm a creature of habit and miss my normal routine and enjoy the relationships i make at places i frequent. I hope the Monarch staff will be back and staying healthy. I want to feel Adam's energy, dance, just stare at Hubba Hubba, enjoy the fresh air and views soon. Safe and health to all my NY friends and neighbors.

I'm a regular at this rooftop and always have an amazing time. Drinks are always on point w/ the absolute best views of the city. There are no rooftops of this size in midtown where you're not standing shoulder to shoulder next to everyone else; I hate feeling claustrophobic. I also had my engagement party here recently where everything went flawlessly. The GM Andrew was a pleasure to work with and he provides 5 star service.

Also, to all the reviews about expensive prices.it's a ridiculously nice rooftop right in midtown Manhattan. I'm not sure what you expect but if you're going to complain about the prices then perhaps you should check out the dive bars in Murray Hill.

This rooftop has a good setting but in my opinion is missing something.not the best but not the worst rooftop bar in NYC

Nice rooftop with sweet views of the city. The drink prices may seem expensive, but you are paying for the atmosphere. Service was pretty good too.

If anybody finds a photo of a man named Ted in a fern near the exit, it is because my friend Olivia had found his photo in a chair and decided it would make a decent fixture for the exit ficus. That is the Ted Tree.
