The quality of the sashimi is very good and comparable to that served at Tsukiji and high-end restaurant in Japan.
The fact that such foods are available at a delicatessen in New York City is valuable. The unusually high review ratings are not arbitrarily manipulated, as you will see when you try it!

Well curated Japanese groceries, selection of sushi, sashimi, grilled fish, and bento boxes. My favorites are their Wagyu burger and Chirashi dons

I was there for 3 times. Everytime I bought the triangle rice. They are very yummy and cheap (compare to other items in the store). I also bought the salmon and eggs bento. It was really good. I bought once for my teenager daughter who is a picky eater, she likes the bento too.
I also tried other bentos from the store (treats of others), they were all yummy.
I saw uni in the store. I wanted to buy but they were in big pack. Wish the store can offer smaller pack in the future.

I love the foods especially a lunch box and beef and also many more snack and food material. But the cashier is not polite especially I saw someone carrying a child's stroller difficulty getting out and they didn't help open the door just look and still chat with other. Maybe next more empathy and help people who need to be helped. Thankyou!

BEST SALMON BENTO BOX EVER! OISHI DESU!
I'm pescatarian and grab a ton of food, drinks, rolls, noodles, pudding, jelly, sweet potato, miso soup, togarashi, chapghetti & snacks from here.

I ordered lunch from Mogmog for the first time today on Grubhub. I ordered a salmon sushi, a mommog chirashi bowl, and a toro tuna salmon sushi. I did not use soy sauce on anything because it was not necessary.

The mogmog chirashi bowl was my favorite because of the selected fish and ingredients including uni. It was the first time I ordered uni for delivery and did not regret it. Before today I only ate uni in-house and at select Japanese restaurants. The rice was seasoned just right: not too salty, not too vinegary. It was cold but that was expected since it's take out. The rice was still good quality.

The salmon sushi came in a round bowl and arranged like a pizza and spread over rice, which was too salty for my taste but others may like it salty that way.

The toro tuna salmon sushi was buttery especially the toro, which was oily fatty and melted in my mouth.

It also came with individual packets of soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger. My husband used one each while I did not use anything because I loved how they came already seasoned.

A small Japanese local shop which has little of every food and seafood products. I like their seafood bowl, so fresh and high quality with the reasonable price.

They actually provide good quality bento, and excellent quality chirashi (considering the price, it is really high quality). They also sale very expensive waygu or king crabs from Japan. For Japanese food lovers, this is a good place to visit.

Can't recommend mog mog more! Heaps of authentic Japanese food made in the kitchen and groceries that are so high quality. I've come to realize I've developed a taste for quality sushi ever since I started eating stuff from mog mog. Mog mog, you opened my eyes and spoiled me lol

They have natto and all the Japanese imported products. Seasonal menus like the shaved ice and their regional fare are not to be missed.

Such a cute and elegant place! The fish and other foods were high quality, and the staff was friendly.

Have been here many times since it opened. Really authentic Japanese goods and seafood. The quality is very good and all sashimi very fresh. The owner is very nice and super thoughtful. Gave ice pack to customers and sanitize the tables frequently. They recently added shaved ice for the summer. Very refreshing not overly sweet. Thanks for enriching the culinary experience in LIC!

Small Japanese grocery store with an emphasis on fresh meats/produce, spices, and pre-prepared foods. I wish I lived closer.

Hands down the best onigiri I have had in nyc! I also tried the chicken sandwich and strawberry kakigori which were delicious. Definitely coming back soon!

My favorite store in LIC. They have wonderful cooked food and higher quality Japanese products that you can not find in every Asian store. For those of you that are confused why such a small store is getting so much community love. It is because they keep the store fresh and interesting by bringing in new products. They take the time to coordinate special chef collaborations to prepare food which makes it always exciting and fun to see what goodies they have that day or coming soon. You can tell they put a lot of work in daily for their customers. I highly suggest to follow them on their Instagram and check their stories daily to be in the know! They are also willing to do special orders if you call ahead. I just had a small party and ordered special nigiri with buttery fish from Japan which they accommodated and it was delicious! Very happy to have them in the community. They make LIC an even better place to live. Thank you Mogmog!

A quaint Japanese market with a lot of specialty items. They also have a lot of lunch items as well with a couple of seatings outside. Come here for the a5 wagyu and uni!

Beautiful Japanese grocery store! They sell a mix of fresh fish, prepared foods (bento, rice balls etc) and dry goods. So happy I can get Japanese groceries in LIC now.

I love this place! Happy a Japanese specialty store opened up in the area, their sushi/sashimi is delicious and the people are the absolute nicest. I also come here to stock up on rice, mirin, various yummy drinks. Leaving a review so this small place can get more traction and business so they can hopefully stay a long time ️

Most omakase restaurants offer regular fish available throughout the year (i.e. Kinmedai, toro, nodoguro for high-end ones) while Mogmog offers seasonal treat like kegani, madai, katsuo, etc. And, their offerings are so freaking fresh!
