This was first time at the salon. The place itself is wonderful, clean and feels homey but as it was my first time being in the salon I would have wanted to have the hair dresser to communicate with me the process of my hair. I felt in the dark about the whole process and made me feel very nervous of how my hair would turn out. I understand there might have been a language barrier, but I did specify what language I’m comfortable with in the survey prior to booking my appointment.

Yo so okay im just a chinito who recently got my hair permed BUT THIS PLACE IS SO GREAT they were able to get me to look like Raulin Rodriguez with them curls and cut my hair to a way that I liked and I came out looking like him it was great.

They asked very specifically what I liked and just some bonus touches were the hair wash before and then talking me throughout the process. A bit pricey in my opinion, but also hella worth the price soooo you decide

Today was my first time visiting Miss Rizos after following its founder for a long time and Taja did not disappoint when she styled my new box braids. Well worth the nearly $300 I spent. Definitely coming back in the future for a curly cut and style.

I absolutely love love love my curly cut! It was my first haircut in 4 years and my stylist was so gentle and kind! The energy in the salon is amazing, super cute and clean! The service was okay I guess. I feel like they didn't really style my curls very well, they looked a lil weird, when I style them at home they look 100% better. Honestly I'm going to keep searching for a curly hair salon, I don't think ima be back.

Miss Rizos is the place to go! The staff are so nice, attentive, and really knowledgeable about caring for curly hair types. They taught me how to care for my type 4 curls and coils. I definitely recommend their services! You won’t be disappointed.

I took my son here for his first haircut today! He has curly hair and it became too long so it was hard to keep up with regular washing and styling. We decided it was time for a cut and we’re so glad we chose Miss Rizos salon! Elizabeth took care of my little guy today and she did such a good job. We loved the end result. Apart from being a talented hair stylist, she was so kind and friendly. All of the women who work at the salon seem so kind and welcoming. I also really enjoyed seeing other people getting their hair done while I waited for my little guy to be done. All the stylists there definitely know what they’re doing, everyone was walking out of there looking fabulous with their styled curly hair. If you’re thinking about going to this salon, do it. This was by far the best salon experience I have ever had! I have never been happier with my tight curls after leaving an appointment. Simone was incredibly helpful and precise. She guided me through every step of the process, so that I can maintain my natural hair at home in between trims. I am absolutely in love with the cut. The shape is beautiful and I have the perfect balance between definition and volume. The salon sent me home with a routine card listing all of the products they used for my hair. So happy that I tried this place because I will definitely be returning.

Yesterday, was my first visit to Miss Rizos salon and I just have to say, that I enjoyed every minute of it. My stylist Kiana, was so warm and welcoming as well as the other ladies working there. Not only was Kiana ever so polite and kind, but she was also very knowledgeable as to, how I should care for my hair. I definitely enjoyed my experience here, and will most definitely be going back for a second visit. Miss Rizos is my new home to care for my hair? P. S I love my layered haircut my curls are looking AMAZING!

Elizabeth is lovely. She is very thoughtful during each stage and checked in to make sure I was comfortable and happy with my look. Her technique is also very spectacular and she answered questions and concerns I had about my maintaining my hair the next few days. Every phase was treated with care and I can tell she is passionate about. Time went by smoothly and I am so thankful about the comfort and care of everyone at Miss Rizos. This was my first curly cut here after being natural for a few years. My hair need extra hydration and Elizabeth helped the hair take its natural form. I will definitely go back and highly recommend. *Latest visit in November 2022* - Simone is it for me! She gave me the best curly cut and bangs of my life! I was too scared to try bangs and she encouraged me and lifted me up and she was RIGHT! I LOVE my hair SO MUCH! I've never felt so supported and encouraged at a hair salon. This is the place to be, y'all. I can't wait for my next appointment. Thank you Simone and the Miss Rizos team!

*First visit in March 2022* - I understand that Miss Rizos has recently undergone a change in staffing. Well, folks, they have completely upgraded to pure excellence. When you walk in, you're met with a full staff of curly girls, mostly women of color, which uplifted me so much. I arrived for the curly cut and styling, waited about 15-20 mins to get started, got a scalp massage (like.what? !? ! Can someone say bougie? Lol) with the Kinky-Curly shampoo and conditioner, sat in the chair for my hair to be detangled with the Uncle Funky's Supercurl Moisture Cream and then the haircut by Simone (thanks, Simone!), I had two stylists (thanks, Simone and Kayla!) who shingled my curls to the heavens using the Eco Styler Black Castor & Flaxseed Oil Styling Gel, and they used both a hooded dryer and the Dyson hairdryer to dry my curls. MY. CURLS. HAVE. NEVER. BEEN. THIS. BEAUTIFUL! ZERO FRIZZ. NO, BUT REALLY. ZERO FRIZZ! And the moment I knew I belonged was when Simone noticed how delicate my hair is and how careful she had to be when styling/detangling it The fact that someone working at a salon tried to be CAREFUL with my hair to treat it as kindly as possible left me close to tears - you curly girls know what I mean! You should definitely try this place out - it feels like home. The only cons I have are that the visit was 4 hours long (there were so many ppl that day) and the drying process took a long time, but for THESE CURRRLLSSS? ! I'm getting ready to do it all over again in a few months. I'm so grateful for a safe, healthy experience at a hair salon.

A+ service. My stylist Elizabeth was so helpful and professional. She understood my curl tyoe/pattern and my hair never looked so healthy. She was very patient and did not push me past my comfort level. The salon was clean and safe. I was promptly seen at my appointment time. It was an overall excellent experience.

Every time I come to Miss Rizos, I leave with a big ol smile on my face. The staff is so welcoming and chilling and I feel so comfy with my hair in their hands. Liz hooked my hair up and had a fab conversation with me. I would recommend all my curlies get their cut here!

I’m obsessed with my hair! I cannot stop looking at it and touching it and I’ve gotten so many compliments! I feel like I’ve tried every curly hair salon and this one may just be my new go-to. Keyonna was amazing and extremely friendly. I went in with heat damaged hair and she offered solutions while making sure to stick to my preferences. I can’t wait to return - and hopefully bring my 5 year old daughter in too!

Over all if your thinking of going here, don't think twice, just go! They are amazing from start to finish! Is all a positive vibe and great customer service!

When I decided to go naturally curly, I searched for a place that specializes in curly hair and I found mis Rizos Salon. I made my appointment in person and asked a million questions. The girl at the reception answered all my questions. I went to my appointment and was nervous, anxious, scared you name it I was feeling it. But they put me at ease. They explained every step. And recommended the right products and explained all the steps. All the ladies there are fabulous, professional, courteous. Loved loved loved how my hair looks now. Soft, bouncy, curly. I had been looking for a place that specialized in Natural/Curly hair and I have found THE PERFECT PLACE. I've been doing my own hair for years but wanted a fresh start. Christina and every single person that was involved in my service educated me about my hair, their styling/cutting process, the products etc. The vibe in there is so relaxing and professional, they make it easy to ask questions, and feel comfortable. My hair has never looked this good and it honestly changed my perspective on my hair in general. I had an absolutely pleasant experience and can't wait to come back in all honesty.

I scheduled an appointment for my 2yrd old daughter which is soon to be 3. This was her 1st time to a salon and when I tell you I pick the right place I am not lying. They were so good and due to it the appointment was a breeze so much so she knocked out. Her stylist was Christine but everyone in the salon was so nice and attentive. They give you a routine card with everything used during the appointment from shampoo to styler which I think is amazing. Don't think twice and book an appointment if your hair needs some TLC this is the place to go!

This is my second time at the Salon for a curly cut. This time Crucy cut my hair and she is so sweet! I went adventurous and got bangs for the first time. Crucy made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the haircut. She also asked if I wanted to try different products from the ones used during my first cut, to which I said yes and I am SO GLAD I DID. Finding the right products for your curls is a mission but like she said, "If we don't try, we won't know. " I had also asked her to work on definition and volume and 10/10 girl! Also, honorable mention to the cheetah girls playing in the background for a hot minute. Everything about this salon is girl power!

So I've had the dilemma of always liking short hair but never had the guts to go thru with a big chop.   I've also been transitioning to my natural curls for the past year. The salon came highly recommended so I booked an appointment with Christina (online with a deposit) so there was no turning back. The place was clean, inviting (there's a happy music playlist in the background), and a multitude of curl products as far as the eye can see. They ask if you have any allergies before they use any products on you. Everyone (from the receptionist to the wash girl to the stylist) was nice, professional and sporting their natural curls. Make sure to bring pictures of what you're looking for, voice questions and concerns, and keep in mind that everyone's hair is different and you're not going to look like anyone but you. They will advise you on how they think to best bring out your desired look. My hair was washed, detangled, cut and styled. I am so happy with the end result. They provide you with an appointment card that has all the information of the products used during your visit and your stylist's info for when you want to book your next visit. All positives in my book, can't wait for my next appointment.

They’re so knowledgeable and good at what they do! I got a deep conditioning treatment and trim (which comes with styling). My hair feels mad healthy. I was given tips on what products to use based on my hair type.

I am very happy with my results. The service was professional and of exceptional quality. I love my look now! Crucy is the curl guru.

I had an appointment with Christina, she did an amazing job reviving and rehydrating my curls. She gave me tips to maintain my hair and made sure I knew every product she used so I can use them in my home. Also the lady that washed my hair I forgot her name but she was so sweet and also very informative about hair tips for me. The entire shop was so clean and aesthetically pleasing. I am for sure coming back as a regular and getting my routine trims here!

Christine made the experience good and that’s why I’m giving 3 stars. Other than that the vibes sucked. The energy was eh. Not going back… but Christine you did a great job on my hair.

This is my first time ever going to a salon solely dedicated to curly hair! I’m 30 years old and while my hair has been natural most of my life, despite some years of heat damage, I am just now really learning how to style and properly maintain my beautiful curls. My cousin was the one who shared on multiple occasions about Miss Rizos, so when I finally wanted to get a shaping cut, after a year of pandemic woes, it was the obvious choice. Also.have you seen some of the ridiculous prices of competitor curly salons. Anyways, I was so pleasantly surprised by the location of the salon. It is literally 2 blocks from my aunts house where I grew up.

Let’s get into the service though. I got a shaping cut, deep condition, and a scalp massage. I would marry the stylists, Joana and Christina, for an unlimited life of scalp massages, had I not been married already. Anyways, from beginning to the end it was an amazing experience. They put you under the hair dryer (secadora) for the deep condition and to dry your scalp after styling. Anyone who has spent a lifetime going to Dominican salons knows the secadora is the precursor to a blow out.so this parallel felt so surreal but so sweet that it was for your curly finish. Also, the cafecito! Dominican salons are known for giving out little coffees while you wait or get your hair done, so this felt like OG nostalgia. I know I mentioned this, but let me say how fair these prices are compared to some of these curly salons that must be targeting the elite.because who on a living wage could afford a small mortgage for a haircut? ! So would I recommend this salon? HECK YES! The owner is a Dominican woman living her dreams and serving her community with dignity and integrity. They service all types of curlies and even give you tips and a hand-written list of the products used during your service. I love to see inclusive small business raising the bar and creating avenues that were once unheard of. Make the trip and support this small business! Your hair will thank you, I promise! ️‍️

I made an appointment online. The salon sent a confirmation and called me the day before the appointment. I arrived early and everyone was very nice. Natalia, while very busy still made sure to give me plenty of one on one time with questions about what kind of cut I was looking for and what products I currently used. The cut is beautiful and I was sent home with a product sample and a list of the brands that were used in my hair along with a tip sheet. My experience was wonderful and I look forward to going back as I grow my hair out for trims to keep the shape pretty and the curl patterns laying nicely.
