Found this place on Reddit, one of the more affordable places for a haircut! I didn’t have to wait very long for an appointment, in fact I called the same day on a weekend and got in - which is super rare in nyc. They gave me a very nice shampoo, cut and blow dry. Amil was my specialist. The place is warm, has a lot of space and is kept very clean. Would highly recommend coming here.

别去别去千万别去！！！！This is the result of my hair, the color is not even at all! I haven't washed it, this is my second day after the hair salon. I spend 489 dollars and ten hours on this!
I had a terrible experience at this hair salon. I went in with high hopes and left utterly disappointed. The stylist not only failed to understand my hair type and preferences, but they also completely ruined my hair. The color I asked for ended up looking nothing like what I wanted, and the cut was uneven and choppy. I left the salon feeling embarrassed and upset. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who cares about their hair

I wanted a bob haircut one night, so the next day I sought a hair salon in Manhattan. I did.a quick reddit search and found Messlook cited as an affordable option. I called ahead to confirm that they take walk-ins (this was a Saturday on a holiday weekend) and they were able to accommodate me on the spot. First, I was shampooed by a very gentle and attentive lady, whose name I did not catch. Next, I met my hairstylist Leo. I showed him a photo of what I had in mind (Kirsten Dunst bob with blunt bangs circa 2010, if you must know).

He executed it perfectly and the haircut costed $43. Messlook takes cards but I paid cash. This salon exceeded my expectations for a) convenience b) price point and c) customer service. Leo is a talented and experienced hairstylist, and the staff at large was professional. I will come back to Messlook without a doubt and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a haircut in the city without all the fuss with reservations, not to mention the expense. GO HERE.

Didnt realize they were racist or but ok. Came here before and had decent service. Brought my mom in for a spa day and they took the white robe that tis normally used for clients. The attendant took the white robe from her and attempted to give her a bleach stained grey robe. Then they want to demand a tip when your service has started off sub par at best. Still left a tip inspite of the horrible service so far

Strong recommend to ask for a receipt. They will put more charges on your receipt if you don’t notice.

Please avoid this store for miserable experience.
️they don’t even wash your hair properly and said it caused I don’t move my head up?
I have to ask to rewash again since it was not cleans.
I have never ever heard from any store that require client can hold their head up during the wash
️truth-fullness, I want it the hair style list has long experience, and manger lie said hairstyle has working more than 10 years? Then hairstylist said during the conversation he only has 5 years working.

Im been hiring by the hair dryer serval time, and pulling my hair.
Communication was not effective and hair-styler didn’t understand my expectation.
️the manager attitude was rude.
He came and ask me what’s the problem because the stylist called him over?
The manger said what’s my problem and I have conflict with hair styler.
First of all, I should be the one calling the manger over instead I have not say anything since it is mess after hair being cut.
Second, the manager stands by hair styler and telling me hair stylist have issue to communicate? So he is here to translate.
Oh lord, if he was not understand mandarin then he should have let someone to translate or not to serving me.

Which was a lot

I had a hair cut yesterday, and it was a disaster, I showed the hairdresser the picture of the hairstyle I want. But it turned out nothing like the picture. I went to this store since 2019, and I was satisfied in the past experience, but I had to buy a hat after I came out yesterday because the hair was too ugly. I don’t want to post the hair dresser’ name here (don’t want anyone get fired though they probably should be). They raised their price multiple times in last 2 years. But the service doesn’t deserve the price they charge now. I won’t go to this store anymore.

AVOID. Scam. If you purchase groupon they will make you pay a mandatory tax on $500 (WHAT?) and tip on that amount. If you go without groupon be prepared for insane prices (not worthy the quality of services & ambiance). They will walk out in the middle of your massage to & will be chatting throughout. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Went for a group and had a great time. Please read the fine print before coming to this business. They charged me more in taxes and 20% on non discounted treatments than the actual treatments were fine. But they are slick… ask questions and come at your own risk.
