Merrily was so nice my daughters prom dress was beautiful and alterations came out perfect, beautiful selection of dresses I would shop here again.

Would give zero stars if possible. The way these owners treat paying customers is disgusting and merrily ottomanelli is a gross human being.

I can only say good things about Merrily Couture and her staff.
My daughter’s Prom was in April, so we ordered her Jr. Prom dress in January and was told it should in by March. It actually came in 2 weeks before her Jr. Prom. When I took it home, my daughter informed me it was the wrong one. I immediately called Merrily.
Merrily was amazing about rectifying this mistake. She contacted the designer (Amarra) who quickly realized the error, located the dress and made sure it would be here in time for the Jr. Prom. We actually got the dress 4 days before prom, which made us nervous, but luckily Merrily has a seamstress (Lale) who does fantastic work. She was able to do the alterations and get the dress back to us in time for prom.

Ordered my granddaughters prom dress in January. It was supposed to be in April 10 after going there and many calls later with no return calls still have no dress. The dress was paid in full. Prom is June 8th.

So many gorgeous dresses! The beading & lacework is stunning. I went to pick 1 dress. But ended up with 3:). They are best in this town.

They can pull the dresses in your size to speed up your appointment. Must check out their outlet. You won't disappoint.

It’s very difficult to find an evening dress in a size 18/20 but they had all different sizes to accommodate even a size 22. I would highly recommend this shop to everyone looking for beautiful formal wear.

I just bought my prom dress here last week, and Merrily invited me to bring some of my friends to look for dresses to use as costumes for our production of Into the Woods from the discontinued lines of prom dresses. She and her staff were so kind both times, and the dresses are so beautiful

Came here to buy a dress for a wedding and the first dress I tried on I fell in love with and bought it. Prices are very reasonable also and the staff is so accommodating. Highly recommend this shop.

I finally found the dress for my birthday! She was lovely and she had a lot of patience with the whole process. I tried on a few dresses and found the one I love.

I brought my special needs daughter there in September to get a dress for a pageant. At that time of year with no time to order something, we had to buy off of the rack. Merrily was so patient and helpful. We found the perfect dress that did need to be altered. She called the seamstress for us and set up the appointment. Aside from the fact that the alterations cost almost as much as the dress (which was not Merrily's fault), it was a perfect scenario and turned out beautiful. Thank you so much. We will be back soon to get the next gown.

If your shopping for special occasion dress, stop searching! As a mom to 4 daughters, I’ve been to them all.
I was greeted by a beautiful women who listened to what I was looking for, than pulled dresses that were absolutely breathtaking. Merrily pinned all the dresses perfectly, which hasnt been the case anywhere. I am a size 0, most dresses for the mother of the bride start at a size 10! Needless to say my dress shopping experience’s over the years has been dreadful. I was equally impressed with that her seamstress can customize any dress. no one would give me any answers except to say not in stock. While I was there a customer returned to show photos from her sons wedding, Merrily spoke with her as if she were a relative. To clarify on my one star review after seeing the response from the owner. HI! You did not eat $400. My mom got her dress after several months of waiting. She JUST got it this week and ordered it on September 30th (paid in full). The reason for the one star is clearly how rude you are. When my mom came in to check on the status of her dress, you were rude to her. It isn't hard to be kind. When the dress did finally come in, no one called her. She called and it had already been there for a few days (after knowing that she had been waiting for it). You did get the money from her. So no loss for you:) Sad to see how you treat customers.

They have clothes and accessories for special occasions, here you will find your party dresses. I definitely recommend it.

Staff was awesome and the clothing and store was clean and neat. The prices were very reasonable. I took my 13 year old for her birthday.

Highly Recommend, all of the dresses that we tried on didn't exactly feel right until Sue had told us that she knew of a beautiful dress that was perfect for a beach wedding, I thought that I wouldn't want a strapless, but I have it a try. I instantly loved it

Its pretty obvious that most of these 5 star reviews are fake.they all are in a span of the same time, all have the same reviews to the same places. Its not honest reviews. Probably done by the owner. However the one stars are real and have stories to tell OBVIOUSLY. You’ve seen her responses back at people on here. That is not great customer service. I went to Merrily Couture to look for a Mother of the Groom gown. I've been all over Long Island and could not find anything, The minute I walked in I was greeted by Lisa who listened to what I had to say and then started pulling out beautiful gowns. Merrily joined us and the ladies worked their.magic. The whole process was seamless. I was doted on and the transition from one dress to another was perfection. Merrily and Lisa were honest and extraordinarily helpful. For the first time since my search began, I actually had three choices of beautiful gowns. I highly recommend Merrily Couture for you wedding needs.

Worst customer service and business practices ever. Had to take my daughters dress to a private seamstress to fix after I fully paid. Do not try to save money and get the actual designer!

Several years ago when my daughter was graduating from high school we purchased her prom dress from Merrily Couture. We had a great experience no issues.
Last year, prior to COVID-19 my youngest daughter was having her Quinceañera Celebration. We order her dress from Merrily Couture. The dress is absolutely beautiful, Merrily went out if her way to accommodate my daughter's needs and likes. Unfortunately covid hit us and everything was postponed. We rescheduled for this year and although we experience some challenges, Merrily Couture safe the day. Merrily and Bobby worked very hard to make sure that the dress arrive on time and that it was perfect for my daughter.
In the future, if we are in need of another dress we will go back.

The store owner, Merrily went out of her way to make my experience a very special one, one in which I will never forget. I highly recommend visiting this store! Had such a lovely experience! I purchased a beautiful prom dress that’s amazing quality and I absolutely adore it. The store owner, Merrily is such a kind hearted person. She made sure everything was set with my dress and was so encouraging and sweet. This by far was one of my best prom dress shopping experiences and I have been prom dress shopping since sophomore year and I am now a senior. Absolutely Love this place 10/10 recommend to everyone.

Absolutely terrible. At 16 years old I left the store crying because this owner was so rude, unprofessional, and only cares about the $. I’m shocked there are any 5 star reviews. I wouldn’t put her past the owner to have people who didn’t even go here to make fake 5 star reviews. I don’t know how she’s still in business. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, Just ask your local community fb page group for feedback on this store and just wait for all the horror stories you will hear. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Found an absolutely gorgeous and classy prom dress for my daughter and within 5 mins of walking in! I’m so glad we came to this place despite some scathing reviews.but I generally like to support our small local businesses especially during this pandemic when they’ve suffered so much. This place was well organized and easy to navigate through the diff styles. The owner (Merrily) was very pleasant to deal with, professional and straightforward. She also price matched which was an added bonus! I would absolutely recommend this local shop as she has done a lot to give back to the community.

$850 Jovani. First ordering in store specialty with W-B-H measurements absolutely gorgeous as she desired the second choice I headed up after work to see if it wasn’t to late. The prior designer allowed cancellation as the owner, As my daughter cried with really wanting the more pricey dress I can’t say enough about the owner Merrily who made adjustment to the price as I returned to change the order - $150 of the tag price so we were able to purchase one of the most top notch designers Jovani. Paying cash or check tax is taken off. Very professional. We received completed alterations in just a few days as for safety seamstress was working off the premises. (FREE) Working with designers via email communicating cancelation and new request working personally with all designers in Brooklyn-Bronx Locations

Stay far away from this place! Got my daughters prom dress here 2 years ago initially our experience was good. Found a dress was told we had to pay in full the owner promised it would be in on time for prom. We placed our order in April prom was June 21st. Owner gave us the run around all lies all the time. Finally a week before prom the dress came in. I had to pay double to get altered because of the time restraint. Please save yourself the aggrevation. I will never forget the stress wondering if the dress would come in. Oh and she never told us the dress was being shipped from China! If I could give this place no stars I would but it won't let me.

Does anyone know what is going on with merrily couture? My friend bought a dress for her party and has been trying to get in contact with them. She is completely devastated as it is completely unprofessional for not answering clients when there party is supposed to be in a few months.

Update-our dress was delivered 2 weeks late, she ordered the wrong size. Blamed us for it. She is so nasty. Don't take my word for it, read her reviews one after another says the same thing and each time she denies it. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Merrily's store. Also, she wouldn't prove she didn't sell me a knock off, no matter how many times I asked for proof of her order, she wouldn't give me anything. Plus, Jovani, doesn't list her as an approved vendor. Lies, Lies and more Lies. Enter at your own risk!

When my daughter and I went in to purchase a sweet 16 dress we were told this is from a new designer it's one of a kind. She was going to give me a great deal blah blah blah. She took a few dollars off then we said okay if that's the best you could do in the price can you cap the fittings she said yes I will cap your fittings at $175 I said fine this is the dress my daughter fell in love with I'll take it. We were told it would take about 4-6 weeks. Well at 8 weeks 10 weeks 12 weeks still not in. FINALLY about 15 weeks later the dress came in. There were Stones falling off the top of the dress that needed to be fixed. The seamstress started doing the fittings but said she was too overwhelmed because it's prom season come back right after prom. So we made an appointment for June 30th I called to confirm the appointment to be told the seamstress is no longer there so I said when was someone going to call me to tell me that instead of making me drive out there and not letting me know that's not how you handle customer service. So I said okay let's reschedule the girl tells me they don't know when the seamstress is coming back. I said well I need this done for my daughter sweet 16. So I finally get to speak to merrily and she says well you could take it to so-and-so and so-and-so.or I can find someplace to have it done I said that is not what we agreed to you kept me at $175 with an on-premise seamstress. So I called around to a few places and I'm looking at over $250 for someone else to do it. I said in the contract you capped me at $175 with an on-premise seamstress now you're telling me I have to drive all over the island to someone else and have to pay the difference.so I said because you are breaching the contract and as a business woman can you pay the difference. Being that I have to find somewhere else drive somewhere else transfer the dress and that's not what was in the contract. She proceeded to get an attitude and refused. I have read all of her reviews. I checked into it most of them are other people that she has done wrong. This is not acceptable and is not fair to all these young girls that this should be the best time of their life and their being upset when it's their prom, sweet 16, quinceanera etc. Remember when you run a business you should do right by the customer. She breached the contract she should have at least done the right thing and pay the difference that's all I was asking that wasn't much. Just goes to show you the person she really is.

They sold me a size large dress and put a size small label in which I ordered it April 25 and they just called me to pick it up on May 30 which when I ordered it the owner told me that it would arrive 4 to 5 business days. The owner is never there she leaves girls responsible for her business! Now i still don’t have the right size that I ordered! And the formal is in 2 weeks! Please do not go to this store! They are not reputable!

This place is horrible. The owner is rude once she gets ur money she doesn’t care about you. She doesn’t know how to run a business they will lie say they are ordering you a new dress but really giving you one off the floor and will put a tag on it to make it look new.
Also just from the way the owner responds to people on here it says even more about how rude she is. Never will I go back.

My girlfriend and I were in merrily couture yesterday and we had a great experience! From owner to staff, all were top notch professionalism! Owner Merrily was very accommodating to us and offered us discounts that were unbelievable! The store is very clean, organized, and second to none. New stock and great choices my girlfriend had to choose from. From the many dresses that are on sale at half price and lower to the top of the line designers. Merrily Couture should be everyone’s first choice! Because it will always be ours!

I love this store it is amazing! I bought my prom dress from there two years ago, Now I work there and it’s one of the best jobs I have ever had!

We bought a $900 dress for my daughters Sweet 16. We scheduled a fitting for February 17th. Well thank goodness the dress was a perfect fit and she did not need any alterations! After she took the dress off and we spoke to seamstress to make aware of some beads that were loose and pulled and to let her know she wanted the straps to be sewed in where they hooked in just for reinforcement. The seamstress stated so they are fine where they hook in? Yes. Now we are back talking to Merrily to schedule pick up date. We decided on picking it up the night before event on March 28th. Merrily in conversation went into saying how it takes 16 hours to press the dress that they press it layer by layer. So Thursday comes I show up at 6 pm to pick up my daughters dress. Merrily says we need to finish pressing it. I am like oh no I have so much to do tonight. She says I will deliver it and then she hands me a piece of paper and pen and then says hold on and then she disappears in to the back room, I write my address but I am not going to just leave it on the counter because it seems disorganized and I did not want it to get lost and I figured I would talk to her before leaving. Her fiancé comes out to get me change to pay seamstress and I ask can you please get Merrily and I would like to see the dress right now, Something told me that NOTHING was done on this dress and I wanted to know what I was dealing with. Merrily would not come out, so I am waiting and waiting. Then I ask Alyssa (who was so nice) can you please go get Merrily and I really want to see the dress. She goes back there closes the door and again Merrily does not come out. Her fiancé tells me how he is the one pressing my daughters dress for me. At this point I knew nothing was done on the dress not even the straps were sewed in yet. The reason I knew that was there was a girl who had a schedule fitting appointment with the seamstress and had to wait a while. So I am sitting out there thinking Oh my goodness they are rushing to press my daughters dress which she originally told me takes 16 hours while I sit out here. Because if you think at this point I was going to leave no way. I told her I want to see the dress before its wrapped. She tried telling me she started pressing it 3 days ago. Finally after sitting out there for 2 1/2 hours her fiancé comes out carrying the dress smiling so proud and I am like it is so wrinkled. I start showing her that all the tooling is wrinkled and she said we do not iron it we press it. Well I saw dresses on the floor with tooling that were not as wrinkled. I said well you told me that it normally takes 16 hours and you rushed this while I am sitting out here. I told her that the dress was scheduled for pick up it should have been ready. Then she says this was supposed to be a final fitting. No she did not need another fitting because the straps were just being reinforced where they hook in. So this is where I catch her in her first lie. I asked her " So you would start pressing a dress before a final fitting? " I called several reputable dress stores and all of them said they would not do that. Then because I was upset (RIGHTFULLY SO) you started getting nasty not once were you apologetic you had nerve to start screaming I provide a $175 service for free pressing the dress. When I spoke to all of those other dress stores NONE of them charge for pressing a dress as long as the dress was bought there especially a $900 dress! And we know the straps were a rush job because before my daughter even came out into the hall one of the straps broke off. Why the hooks were taken out of dress is beyond me. My daughter just wanted it sewed where the hooks were for reinforcement. And no I did not call you because we know how you handle business. Knowing the stresses people go through when throwing these events when you drop the ball you should be acknowledging it and be apologizing. That's the PROFFESSIONAL way to deal with it. The way you behaved or the way you respond to these reviews is outrageous and extremely immature of you.

I mean I get that you get mad at people for writing bad reviews, but, CHILL THE HELL OUT! We know that it's hard dealing with customer's opinions at times, but I've been reading through your replies and you sound like an ignorant psychopath. You're not that nice to staff either. When people criticize your buisness, maybe you should take it and look at it as a way to improve your business or just apologize to the customer. Honestly, you have some serious anger issues. I've been working with the public for years and when someone curses me out or has a problem, I listen and apologize to the customer wether I'm wrong or right. You're a business owner, it's your job to be professional and patient. Obviously there has been more than just one customer that's come to your store that had an issue. If anything, you should be using that as constructive criticism.

Even before I started working here I’ve always loved this store! The owner is sweet and treats us so well. Everyone here is very helpful and will help anyone find a beautiful dress! The owner especially will pick out 20-30 dresses for girls to try on just to help them find exactly what they’re looking for! Always will love coming to work️

The owner was kind of rude to the staff, and she's rude to them in front of the customers. It made me feel uncomfortable. The staff was generally friendly, helpful and patient. As soon as I walked in, they were very sweet and offered to help right away. They do have a decent selection of different styles of prom dresses. The prices for dresses are about average, but more on the pricey side. I got a beautiful red dress here for Jr. Prom and I love it. I had an issue with the seamstress. She is a sweet lady, but she charges too much. My dress fit me fine, I just needed it hemmed. When she was pinning my dress to alter it, she made so many alterations to the dress that wasn't necessary. She also poked me like 5 times. I'm suprised I didn't walk out with a staff infection or HIV from the pins stabbing me. Who knows how many people she probably poked with them. After she was done, she said the alterations would be $170! For such minor alterations, I didn't think it was worth it. It would be cheaper for me to just buy a sewing machine and do it myself. I wasted my time returning to do alterations to the dress. Luckily I know how to sew so now I can just do it at home.

I loved shopping here and buying my dress from here. I love the selection of dresses. The store is always well staffed with enough girls to help. The girls were always polite and friendly and ready and willing to find new dresses and help clip and unclip.
I appreciate the friendliness from the young girls and the women in charge. They made me feel like a million bucks in whatever dress I tried on.
