This dealership sucks the service department is the worst they give ppl the run around don’t answer phone calls don’t call to give updates on the status of the cars

First time dealing with this dealership only because I bought a brand new TRX at 15k over sticker and was offered free oil changes with the sale.
They do have some nice people working there in parts and service but the way they trick you out your money isn't right so make sure you get everything in writing before you have them do anything to your vehicle.
I wanted a simple update flash that's done called an RF to stop anyone from taking the signal from your key fob and cloning your key. I was told I should purchase a new key because once they flash my truck, I won't be able to make another key.
I was told the flash is no charge, but the new key fob and key programmed and cut was $310. Come to find out once the flash is done and I get my bill, it's $657.89.
I was shocked, and I'm not going to go back and forth with someone who was nice to me and, when confronted with the extra charge, had a change of attitude. Here's the kicker they charged me 1hr of service of 264.23 to program and cut a key fob that I was told only cost 310 programmed and cut from the beginning
We all know that if I was told they would charge me the extra service fee, I would have bought, programmed, and cut the key elsewhere. There's no way in hell 1 key to cut and program should cost anyone $657.89.
These extra charges need to be disclosed to your customers so they can make a choice on what to do instead of being slapped with a bill that's not expected. How hard is it to say a key will cost you a total 657.89. Instead, they tell you 310-315 and hit you with the other charges when you're not expecting it.

Update to Response from dealership:

Please go back to the review and try to understand that I'm not complaining about the charges as we all know dealerships have a premium price for everything and anything, no matter the part or service

1. I was told that I only needed to pay for a key fob and shank, which is a total of $310-$315 programmed with the key cut included in that price, and the RF would be fee of charge.

2. I then was charged an extra $264.23 for a 5 min key cut and a program that was already included in the price of the purchase of the key & fob

3. So I was extra charged
Here's how if I came to the dealership and ordered a new key, they would program and cut that key for me for a total of $310-$315. I can prove it by going to any other dealership and bringing you an invoice from them and also bringing an invoice from other customers from other dealership that had the same thing doneSo tell me how is your dealership different from other dodge dealership in long Island on parts pricing This is why I mentioned in the original review if I was informed of this extra $264.23 charge I would have went to another dealership and got it done I asked the service provider several times " All I have to pay for is the key correct" His response was "yes" no mention of a $264.24 labor cost and when I originally got the key from your parts department they also said to me that the total for the key fob program and key cut is $310-$315.
So enclosing rather than just pushing me off by saying it's justified, listen to what the customer is saying to you.

DISCLOSE ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND STAND BY WHAT YOU TELL YOUR CUSTOMER SOMETHING IS GOING TO COST THEM.

Today I've been to nine dealerships in search of a new/used car. I'm trying to figure what I like and what I don't like. When I deal with a sales rep, I try to be blunt by telling them I'm looking around. No commitment. Some sales reps are like snakes and will do there best to pry for my information. My neighbor is a consumer protection lawyer and she made me aware on dealership systems. The importance on remaining private until your ready to test drive.

Gina was quite nice and understood this. Actually, there was three sales reps today that striked me well, with Gina being the best. She provided good information on the Dodge Challengers and Charger. Provided me realistic wait times to test drive a car. Didn't waste my time on useless chatter. Notified me where I can find and inspect the Charger on there used lot. When I came back, I appreciated the hustle. Quickly answered my finance questions and realistically guided me to the right trim for me.

When I'm ready, I will eventually call Gina for a test drive. I highly recommend her. It seems she has a knack on knowing which customers to be aggressive with and which customer to be more passive with.

This dealership still thinks Covid is in play. They outright told me they won’t negotiate on a used vehicle and not for nothing the way the manager spoke to their new employee was pretty bad. For the sake of $1000-$2000 they let a $40,000 deal walk out the door. Greed is quite obvious at this place.

If I could give this place a 0 Stars I would. Their service department is so unprofessional. Dropped off my jeep Wednesday night for a Thursday appointment. Called Friday for update and spoke to Sean who’s handling my truck and states that they were yet to check it and that he didn’t know when they’ll get to it. Called numerous times today as I let them know I was going out of town and needed to speak to a service manager. 3x I was told she would call me back and nothing. So now I’m away and my truck hasn’t even been looked at. Best believe this complaint will go straight to the top.

Ive had many cars in my life. It never mattered where you bought the car. But this dealership said since I didnt buy my wifes 2022 Jeep at their dealership. They will not take it in for warranty issues. The person I spoke to on the phone clearly said. Due to us not buying the Jeep from their dealership. They will not allow our car in for a warranty issue. Im assuming that if youre power steering doesnt work. That isnt a safety issue. I guess since we move here from FL. The way their service manager thinks. I should drive back to FL and get the warranty issue taken care of there. I know people say oh well Im not going to buy my Jeep from a dealership with empty threats. However I was actually in the market for a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe. Merrick Jeep.you just lost a sale.

I'm sorry to give it a bad rating because of the staff, the attention to the public is terrible. I don't speak English very well and I asked to speak to someone in Spanish since it is my strong language and the person who answered me hung up the phone after telling me that there was no one who spoke Spanish, without giving me the opportunity to speak and try to communicate with her in english

I was in desperate need for a new vehicle and in a bit of a time crunch. Purchased a 2019 Grand Cherokee off lease from Gina. Gina in sales was great; no gimmicks no tricks no nonsense. Greg in finance was also a professional and a gentleman. The entire experience was very smooth and honest. No hidden fees or bait and switch like other dealerships. Best deal for the quality of vehicle we got. My wife and I will be back when it’s time for our next car! Highly recommend going here if you’re in the market for Jeep.

Our experience was great, and Greg Ifill was very helpful. Greg took the time to explain what our options could be. Whether we should buy out are leased vehicle or lease a new vehicle. I chose to lease a new vehicle. We leased a new 2022 Jeep Compass Limited. I really appreciate time and effort from Greg Ifill

As the owner of a local business that fully appreciates positive customer relations, and understands how important that is for a local business, it's shameful that I am forced post this much negative feedback, unless it's so terrible, I feel obligated to do so.
My experience with Merrick Dodge, is BY FAR the worst I have ever encountered by any service company, irregardless of the profession. Not only has their past service history been a horror show, they now added a new phase of terrible people skills, in the, "I could care less about your problem" customer relations, that I was just told by their new service manager "Bill" on the telephone.
I have purchased new cars from Merrick Dodge going back to the mid 2000's, with multiple Mopar service contracts, once in 2005, and the most recent in 2017.
With the contract I recently purchased in 2017, at a substantial markup, I was PROMISED any malfunction for this car, even though it was not purchased from them (I bought it preowned, at a great price from a Chevy dealer) I would be provided a loaner.
I have a history of using their loaners for services I needed under the same contract for over three years.
The contract I have, in writing states, loaners will be provided when available for any malfunction for my car. I usually would have to wait for a loaner to become available, that was not a problem for me.
Now, Merrick Chrysler has decided to renege on their obligation to offer loaners for their past contract customers, irregardless of WHAT IS STATED ON THEIR OWN LETTERHEAD.
The thing is, I'm in the service business, and I would not mind so much, if I had faith their service department, can actually determine a problem quickly, and own up to a failure, but I cannot, as I had to bring my car in for transmission service OVER TEN TIMES IN THE PAST. I told them based on my past skills as an auto mechanic the problem was the transmission. Eventually the transmission was replaced, that took nearly two years!
Recently after multiple phone calls to them, and now reporting them to Chrysler, I will be forced to take them to small claims court with my signed contract, that states I am eligible for loaners, and recoup the extra money I paid for this HORRIBLE service and now Horrible customer relations.
All I can say is, buyer beware.
I can assure you, if I have to write this, given over thirty years experience in the service industry, they are, without a doubt, un-trust worthy, not friendly and could less about their customers.

Worst dealership I’ve ever been to.
Greg in finance.wow. 1st he spoke to just my fiancée even though I was buying the car and my fiancée even said that he had nothing to do with this transaction. Second he kept trying to push financing on me, i shouldn’t have to explain why I am buying this outright. Lastly and the most egregious error, he gave me the WRONG bank account information for the wire transfer. Luckily my financial advisor caught it! I almost sent over 30k to the wrong account!

The fun doesn’t stop there though.

I had to call them once my temp registration got close to expiring. Whomever deals with that said that they sent it out but the address must have been wrong and got sent back to them, so you don’t call me? I ended up getting a ticket for expired registration and luckily was able to have my fiancée pick it up. It was totally unnecessary had they just reached out to me in a timely manner.

The only ray of sunshine in this place is Geoffrey in sales. He’s fantastic, literally a gem of a man and is the only reason I didn’t pull out of the sale after my interaction with Greg.

I had a 10: 45 appointment on a Monday for a simple oil change and tire rotation. I am the only one here the whole time waiting. The service is horrible 2 hours later and still waiting… Never had this issue at Westbury jeep service center I will not be returning back.

I was in part Dept Gentlemen help me about getting part. He was very helpful exactly everybody was helpful. They try to fix my parts problem and they did it.

I'd give 0 stars if I can. Customer Service sucks here. Save your time and sanity. My husband financed his 2021 Grand Cherokee L here. Our Car salesman was Wayne. Great Guy. But we weren't told that the cover for the engine did not come with the car before signing any papers. My husband ordered the cover in AUG2021 and was told that they had it in another location and it would take about a week or two to receive it. 7 MONTHS IN! We haven't received it. Not even a courtesy call to Apologize.and they cant say they're limited on inventory. I drive by all the time and see more cars on the lot.

This is upsetting. I'm currently on HOLD now.after calling two times before and being hanged up on. Poor Poor Customer Service. Save your time. Go to another dealership.

UPDATE: 5 min later. Our part arrived FEB 9 as per Parts employee.
I asked why i wasn't notified.his response /. IDK.

At Merrick Dodge Jeep Chrysler Ram I give it 5 stars because since I arrived at the place I was looking at the cars when the salesman Oliver Uy approached me very kindly, giving me a good and very clear explanation about the 2020 ram 1500 Laramie sport, it was a very good experience Oliver has professionalism and humility towards the client, since I have visited different car dealerships and had never lived this experience as it was at Merrick Dodge Jeep Chrysler Ram. When it was time to check my credit, Mr. Gregory from finance, excellent person and very kind, I recommend this dealership, they have people like Oliver Uy and Gregory capable of making you see the reality of a good business in a matter of minutes.thanks for your attention.

I went in looking for a used car and delt with Alfredo from the used car department. He could not have been nicer, excellent customer care and excellent knowledge of the cars. When i decided i was going to lease a car Alfredo helped me out even though it was not his department and he put me in touch with Wayne who is excellent as well. I would highly recommend seeing these guys if you are looking there for a car.

Sales Dept has always been nice and straight forward. The Service Dept no longer honors "Free Oil-Change" services for life of new leases, and are caught lying repeatedly. Commonly used excuse amongst dealers, "We changed owners and don't offer that anymore. " I was told I'd have to pay for oil change unless I had new engine and cabin air filters installed at 9,300 miles, despite Owner's Manual stating those services not due until 20k miles. Horrible integrity here, and it just cost them a new truck lease every 3 years.

Bottom Line: DO NOT believe any Service "promises" when buying/leasing, and don't expect Sales to honor agreements made at purchase/lease.

The worse service manager. My uncle called in wanting to get his leased vehicle serviced with them and rudely told him he would not accept the vehicle because he didn’t purchase it there. Bill is unprofessional and not sure how he gets away with running the service department.

DO NOT LEASE at wantagh jeep. I have owned grand Cherokees since the eighties and never had a problem leasing or buying. Went here 3 years ago and leased 2018 grand Cherokee Ltd with no problems. Now go to get another 3 yr lease and sign papers and put $500 deposit. They will call when truck is in. I call them 3 weeks later and they Say that they will not honor the offer I put money on. Greg and Scott are mgt and have to re work the numbers. I can't even deal with salesman and he doesn't know what to tell me. Well they now want $3200. More money out of pocket over three years between down payment and $52 more per month. I tell them to cancel and credit me 500. Greg said I have to come in person to get credit. Never had such bad experience trying to get my wife back in a new Cherokee. NOT WITH WANTAGH JEEP.
