Mavis Discount Tire

Mavis has been my go to place for many years. The staff and mechanics are extremely friendly, caring, professional and honest. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for an honest mechanic to try Mavis.

Just had an excellent experience today 6/16/23 at Mavis on Forest Ave on Staten Island. Anthony and Atzin are wonderful. My Mom’s car needed 4 new Tires. Like I told them this is an area where a lot of us don’t have experience/knowledge and we have to trust people who are helping us with our cars and I trusted these Gentlemen totally.

Great personalities, very kind, very knowledgeable, terrific sense of humor and outstanding customer service. Their prices are excellent. They run a very efficient organization and I’m very pleased with the service I received today. I’m excited to let my friends know about my experiences and will urge them to come to this Mavis.

Came by Mavis Discount tire (2060 forest avenue location) on 6/15/23 10: 30am to get two front tires for my 2020 Nissan Rouge Sport, not too crowded. I was very apprehensive about paying a lot of money for two tires, but I found two Mavis Traction Control Hankook tires in my price range and was told turn around service would be about hour and a half, which was fine with me because I'm used to waiting far longer than that at the dealership.

The price was in my budget, and the time frame was reasonable.

Atzin was my representative, Jamie was my mechanic. Anthony was another representative I interacted with, all very professional. The time they quoted was twice as long as it actually took, very pleased with Atzin and Mavis tire staff. Fantastic.

Not only did they get me out of there fast saving me time, my time is precious, but Atzin also noticed I had my new registration sticker and offered to have the mechanic scrap the old one and put the new one on no charge.

Best service for me today. Will recommend to my coworkers in sanitation who live on the island.

DROPPED MY CAR OFF BEFORE 10AM TO CHANGE 2 TIRES. I CAME BACK AT 3 PM AND MY VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE FROM THE ORIGINAL SPOT I PARKED IN.

Had tires installed and wheel alignment done. Service was excellent. Anthony kept me informed about the progress on my car.

The price of the tires was reasonable and a good value. I did my research for tires before coming here and this was THE best value from all the places I looked at. I was not pressured into getting things that weren't needed or wanted.

I recommend coming here for tires. Because of how satisfied I am, I may come here for other car services too.

Professional, courteous and friendly. I was able to get a tire replaced easily with the rim's tire pressure sensors recalibrated properly - AND I was done in about an hour. Much easier than Costco for me.

I appreciate the services Staten Island location provided. I was in and out. Employees were very high professional and quick with response and made sure I left the location very happy. I highly recommend this location for car services.

Brought car to this location in June. They broke my sensor and told me there was no need of maintenance with my vehicle.i left and my car was shaking because it needed new brakes the sensor was going off on my car. One month later i call this location and they said it will be 1 1/2 hour wait.i bring the car in at 3. I come to pick up the car at 6 PM and they didn’t even start the process of doing an oil change and checking the tire they were responsible for replacing. Terrible.

Came in to have a tire plugged after picking up a screw. They were busy, but were able to get the tire fixed for me with a short wait.

MeL was absolutely fantastic. He helped with something he had no idea how to do so we both learned something today! He was patient and kind, and made sure it was rightly done before I left. He’s a great asset to your team. As was rakiyah (apologies for the misspelling!) in helping find the right people to take care of this for me!

Not the best experience at this Mavis. Short-staffed and didn't advise beforehand that the mechanic didn't know how to do my brakes when that was one of the services I needed!

I have gone to other Mavis shops and this by far has been the worst experience.

I came in today to get my tire fixed and an alignment done. I was waiting for 4 hours with my 1 yr old, but made the best of it. One of the employees could probably tell by the last hour my daughter was getting restless. He asked myself and the two others in the waiting area if we needed anything from CVS & asked me if my daughter can have an ice pop. He came back with not only an ice pop but a little chocolate for everybody! Sounds silly but it definitely was a very kind gesture. 10/10 would recommend this location.

The lady behind the counter even said it. The easiest customer always has the problems. Make appt on Thursday, tires arrive Friday. Show up 30 mins early for appt. Why do I not have new tires on my car. You had it from 10am - 3: 30pm. A wasted Saturday. I guess I'll go to pepboys.

I came today because my one tire was loosing air… I seen that they were busy and backed up, and instead of turning me away they still got it fixed. The young lady who is usually at the counter was the one who did it for me even though I don’t think that’s part of her job. I will definitely be returning.

This location is great! They have been short handed for sometime, every time I come with my car or my family’s car, but they take care of you and do what’s right by the customer. I will always use this location with Jennifer and her team.

I am a repeat customer I don't like going there too much because every time I go I spend money but other than that they provide great service.

I went there in a very frustrated mood and I admit that I know I was very difficult but I'm leaving a 5 star review because the manager that was there her name was Jennifer was absolutely amazing. Eventhough I was giving her a hard time she kept her composure. Her dedication to customer service is unmatched in other auto places in my opinion. I went there in a bad mood but left completely satisfied with the service at mavis thanks in large part to Jennifer.

I really wanted to match the great reviews here. Drive from Brooklyn, paying Verrazano toll, because the reviews were so good. Get here, manager’s out sick with one poor guy from another store filling in and 5 other people with 9am appointments and one shop tech. Okay, wiling to give that a life happens. But then they didn’t have the tires I made the appointment for and that the person told me on the phone yesterday that they had in stock. That’s not life happens, that’s poor service. An unfortunate waste of time and money.

Adding an edit a few hours later: I made an appointment at a different Mavis where they actually checked to see if they had the tires and have physically ticketed them for my appointment tomorrow AND knocked a little of the price. THAT’S understanding a customer’s time is valuable. I’m sorry to have had this experience when so many others have had better ones here.

Great service from Anthony and Mel. Had the best experience they took care of my Toyota right away and even clean the terminals on my battery in and out service was great the best service I ever got from a service auto center 5 stars. Keep it up guys. I have 5 cars in my house hold and you will certainly get my business with service like this

Jennifer really took the time to help my wife and i what we needed.she explained in detail and helped us big time on the price considering whats going on with everything.i am very grateful for what mavis did for my family

First off, communication is beyond what is considered the standard. Mel and Anthony carried me through the process of what was exactly wrong, and how they were going to handle it. Overall, thumbs up— recommended. Also the estimate given to me was below the other local shop average estimates.

I had the experience of working with Jamie when my car needed an oil change. He was so sweet and so nice. I recommend anyone who has car problems or questions to go see him!

I enjoyed my time with Mavis this lady Jennifer was such blessing for me, I was having trouble with my alignment and tires went to a prior mechanic and I traveled from Georgia to New York and tires was warm because of alignment issues not being properly fixed and went to Mavis in STATEN Island forest Avenue and my car is like new she made sure they did right by me you need to check Mavis out In STATEN island.

Brought our car in to price tires, had a nail in a tire. Jennifer & staff members said they could possibly repair it so as not to have the expense of a tire. They went above & beyond to find the nail. When the nail was removed, no repair was needed, it was so small it didn’t penetrate the tire! If & when we do need tires we will definitely return to SI Mavis. Thank you to the staff of Mavis!

This is the best tire shop place I ever been to. They are very professional with the work the people are very nice. They was the cheapest place I came to in staten Island definitely recommend this place to anyone who lives in Staten Island

Why does the website say book an appointment when they really don’t even go by appointment. Was there 11: 30 & told them I work in hospital & had to work. 1: 30 still sitting there for a tire. Got up & left. Guy gave me the keys without even asking why or a reason, Nothing!
