Mamajuana Cafe Queens

I went to the Queens location of Mamajuana, the vibes was great. Good music, food and atmosphere. Our waiter was Favio and let me tell you, he was excellent. He was pleasant, friendly and he made sure we were having a good time. I would definitely go back and hope to have him again as my waiter.

Went here with my bestie for her birthday and we had a grand time it was a Thursday night and we decided to do a Pre birthday dinner we told the bartender it was her birthday set off and he was very attentive to us he also surprised my friend with tres leches and they sang happy birthday unexpectedly i love mama Juana the food was also good i had a steak trio & the valcano sushi for starter i don’t drink so Joel was able to give me a virgin mojito. God is good yallll go there for any celebration the place and atmosphere is beautiful i will come there again thank u mama Juana!

Never in my life I would go back, Let me start with how rude the waitress was and how raw the meat was. Not including it felt like I had no choice to order the way the waitress wanted me to his way.from Appetizers first then dinner and then the dessert.smfh.when I just wanted to order dinner and dessert only. But was told by the waitress I have to start with Appetizer's first. All I heard from that waitress the hold night when requesting something was No. I been to many places let me tell you I was so comfortable I didn't even finish the food. How can you make someone feel like they have to order Appetizer's first before ordering dinner or dessert, u should be able to order however u want.weather u want your dessert first before my food. Thats my choice not yours. Horrible place.

Worst service ever! The staff completely forgot about our order. It took them over an hour and 20 minutes to bring us appetizers and never came back with our dinner. The server apparently got upset because we did not order “drinks” and the service between the waiter and server was upsetting. Everyone else, including people who arrived to Mamajuana before us, got their food after and the attention with us was not there at all. Will never spend my money here. Zero stars is a better rating.

I had brunch here 2 years ago, and it was great. I don't know what has changed this time, but most of the food was not good. The air-conditioning was not working, but they still allowed us to suffer that extreme heat without giving us notice or a choice. Our waiter would get lost for long periods of time. When asking another waiter from a far to please give some water at least, the waiter wanted us to get off the table and get the water from him at the bar, instead of someone coming to us. The manager was deceitful when we continuously complained about the AC and service he "agreed" to apply some type of discount to the bill, but he never came back with the new bill. Bill got paid without the discount, and then he finally showed up again and told us, of I can't do anything now you paid. Will not be bringing our business here again.it was just so disappointing.
Since there's no way to respond to the disturbing uncomprehensive response from the restaurant, I have decided to update my response.
-Not sure how you would check cameras if u don't even know when I was there? The response should have been may I please contact you so that we could discuss the situation?
-What does not writing a review 2 years ago have to do with this issue? Are you trying to imply that I've never been there before and that I am a liar? How old are you? !
The person responding on behalf of the restaurant clearly lacks the ability to be professional and deal with customer concerns.
Most of the responses I see from this person to a bad review sound like a 10 year old throwing a tantrum, calling everyone a liar.
Overall, I hope they do mention the horrible service performed during one of their brunches at their weekly huddle and get themselves together.

I don't understand why it has. A schedule on wueb and when one arrives they say it's another one I just arrived today Sunday and it's 10: 30 and they say they close at 12: 00 pm The truth is that from what I see in the comments they have a bad management even with the schedule

I always go for the sushi, the flavor is incomparable! The drinks are well balanced in flavor and alcohol level.

The service is quite competent!

Went to brunch on Sunday. Music was obnoxiously loud, the rum punch was garbage and the food was average Bodega food. I will give this place another try for a dinner and hopefully the quality and atmosphere is better.

Responding to obnoxious owner: I guess you serve the same Bodega food during dinner as well so you're right too many other spots to give you guys another shot!

The food was fantastic, the waitress was super friendly and courteous. However when checking in our party of 6 on a reservation we already had, I was refused for wearing a tank top with tan shorts, but you can let others in with loose T-shirts, Jersey's, sweat pants and muscle shirts, but I showed too much skin lol? There was really no explanation, just attitude from the front desk

The concert doesn't start at the right time and the security guy they think are police oficer

Went to dinner for my birthday, the music was very loud, we couldn’t really have a conversation but the food was delicious.

Isabelle was our waitress and she did an amazing job at making us feel welcome. I had an amazing time.

It's a shame that they took so long to take our order after our drinks and appetizer, the food was very good, the sad thing is the service, they didn't even spend refilling water, if not until we finished our food and I ordered it when they took our plates away, I asked a container also for my daughter's food that I did not finish and never arrived.
In addition to the fact that our service was very slow and not being busy, it bothered me that they placed the 18% tip included in the bill.
Waiters not only because they have a tip included means that the service does not matter.

Delicious food and quick friendly service for a party celebration!

Parking was a breeze when our party arrived at 6pm on a Friday. We were quickly seated with options of indoor or outdoors. Both interior and exterior were well decorated that you feel so fancy and forget you're even in nyc.

Drinks were boozy and tasty. Food came in a decent portion and well flavored.

Good food, good drinks, regular service they brought us the food first and then the drinks, they took a long time to serve us but the rest was great

Terrible service! Since we arrived they didn't even offer us a table because we had to wait for everyone in the group to arrive, once they arrived separately they forced us to take the group service, it was not optional, they force us to eat what they decide and for as long as they decide! The terrifying truth!

Excellent Latin food. The attention is excellent. Each dish detail by detail super well done. Delicious beef and chicken sushi. They celebrate birthdays to very lively clients. Huge and beautiful place. The treatment of the staff Great, one of the best restaurants I tried in New York.

Great food and music variety! Our server July was a little rude at times. But what put the icing on the cake was when we went to the club. What an extreme patting of the body to get into a club that wasn't even crowded. The male at the club on 6/3, was very extreme with patting down the males. I see no need for nipple grabbing, balls being swiped and grabbed, swiping of shoes interior. This was very uncomfortable and difficult to witness! This needs to be corrected! If the patting is to that degree, then consider body scans like the airport. It was very uncomfortable and violating! Please Mamajuana revise your guidelines as to how to pat people down. This left a very bad taste in the mouth. Won't be going there again. My friends and family in attendance were not youngsters, they were 35+ years old and NYC professional workers. Total violation and very embarrassing!

I have been to the place on several occasions and I generally like it, however I had a very bad experience on Mother's Day there with my family. At the time of making the reservation they did not explain to me that there was going to be only one special menu and not the regular one, the fact is that this special menu costs 75 usd (dessert, main course and starter) but they leave out people who are not They do not consume dessert or appetizer, because they would still have to pay 75 dollars WITHOUT DRINK. Even so, we decided to stay because at 7: 30 pm it is impossible to find another restaurant this holiday without a reservation. And when we received the bill there was a 20% MANDATORY included tips that they were charging us (approximately 110). They didn't even give us the option to set other percentages according to how we felt about the service. I had to tell the waiter to please remove the uncles and he very kindly did so (the boy served us very well despite the inconvenience and explained that the same thing happened to several tables) and when they brought us the new bill the manager (I guess because I don't know who it was) he put it on the table with a bad face and didn't say anything to us. We left the tip in cash and left.

Great food and atmosphere! Attended for mother's day; there was a prefixed menu which included appetizer, entrée, and dessert, per person. Enjoyed the music and vibe!
