Magnolia Bakery at Rockefeller Center serves up a banana pudding that is nothing short of a spoonful of heaven. This delightful dessert, with its creamy texture and rich flavor, has the power to transform a simple snack into an indulgent experience. It is undeniably delicious, making the wait in line a triviality in retrospect. The bakery’s commitment to quality is evident with every bite, and it is this dedication that makes their banana pudding a standout. Whether you’re a local or just passing through New York, it’s a must-try treat that promises to be as memorable as it is satisfying.
I just wanted 2 cupcakes. I'm from NY and yet I never come here but some people hype it up. So they have a different line for ordering certain stuff and then another for paying but I wouldn't know cuz when I went in it was empty, yet nobody behind the counter even acknowledged that I was there. So me and my friend are waiting. Waiting. As soon as I went toward the cashier to try to order the girl behind the counter looks at a group that came in after me and says I can help the next person even though she saw us waiting. So my friend says she's next and I order the cupcakes. Then I asked for a cup of water and had to go through 3 different people for that. The cupcakes were also bland and dry so this was a waste of time and money for me.
Terrible food, terrible butter cream lump of fat, cake dough hard and not at all soft and worst of all you can't eat it on the spot. No dining without exceptions, not even when it's pouring rain and you're with the children and they tell you with the utmost inhumanity and lack of empathy, horrible experience, Latin American music at most in the early morning you couldn't even understand what the people were telling you shop assistants aside from no dining who obsessively repeated.we understood no dining and no return!
Delicious dessert option with very reasonably priced sweets! We absolutely loved the banana pudding here and wished we could have had much much more or saved some to take home! Right nextdoor is also an ice cream place if part of your party is craving that (the two actually pair really well together). Lots of other baked good options and quick moving line to get your items!
Got a seasonal pumpkin spice pudding.it was so creamy! With the added cinnamon spice and caramel sauce, it was just so satisfying. However, I would not recommend to order drinks since my americano was just not good enough that I even threw it away without finishing.
Yummy treat! The wait can be outrageous, it’s the Times Square crowds …. Good luck. The banana pudding is well worth it and in a separate line if that’s all you are ordering.
Disappointing visit. Drip coffee and iced mocha were subpar compared to other branches. Staff seemed indifferent and disorganized. Despite requesting less ice multiple times, no attention was paid. Unlikely to return.
Holy sh. The banana bread pudding wow! Too bad the location looks dingy and isn't very nice inside. I thought it would look nice and "NYC bakery" look like Angelina but sadly it wasn't.
This bakery has delicious cupcakes we have tried the chocolate and red velvet. They are also known for the Banana pudding which was soo delicious. Highly recommended The only reason i dedicate a star because I wish they had dine in area it would be perfect.
I’ve been dreaming of coming to NYC and trying out Magnolia’s famous banana pudding for quite a while now and finally I was able to and it was the biggest disappointment of the trip. The thing is prepackaged and tasted like something picked off a supermarket isle. The place was not crowded so thank God I didn’t have to wait in a line for this.
Intrigued by some reviews and opinions about the place, I tried Magnolia Bakery's trademark banana pudding. Super recommended! The dessert is very good, a must try! Be careful though, availability is limited.
Over a few days I had blueberry cheesecake and of course the banana pudding. If the pudding has one fault, it is a little bit too sweet. I'd love to eat more and more of it, but the sugar was too much and I'm not one to shy away from dessert. I'd get it again. The cheesecake was baked perfectly, had great flavor and the blueberries were actual berries, not just a pile of flavored pie filling like some places. A place worth stopping.
TLDR get the banana pudding, but go to the Greenwich village location that is the original, quaint, quieter and easier to navigate.
Their famous for a reason - the idea of banana pudding is kinda gross to me and this made me want to eat it once a week. But this particular store is really badly designed given how busy it is. There’s one counter to order everything but banana pudding, and another counter to pay for everything and order banana pudding. There’s no way to know this though and you might be waiting in one queue only to realize after 10min you’re in the wrong queue. One of the counter people yells this out every now and again, and when you let them know it’s confusing they say “well clearly the banana pudding is over there” as if that would make it obvious to customers when both counters have access to it it’s just slightly closer to one. Once I got into the right queue, I made friends with two other sets of customers who had also been as confused as me.
They’re popular enough that I doubt they don’t have the resources to make signage, or just print one. But of course their popular enough that this isn’t something that risks losing business and is just a pain for their staff to have to herd people constantly.
Get the vanilla cheesecake.it's really yummy.just wanted to try them because I saw good reviews on YouTube.they didn't really have much to offer so not sure I'd go back.
I been following this bakery for a while now on IG. I finally got a chance to sample some of their famous banana pudding. I messed up, I got the specialty of the week pudding.l did not get the regular banana pudding to have a reference point. The pudding we had was nice and creamy, the peanut butter brownie was good. I have had better but go try for yourself.
Been there several times for the pudding and it's just worth it.
The pudding is addictive and simply unique.
A must for anyone who likes something sweet and not overrated at all.
The only drawback - the content sometimes fluctuates. Sometimes you have more dough, sometimes more bananas.but that can't be avoided either. You can see how it's done in the background and I prefer it to be finely packaged like this rather than mechanically and industrially.
No need to state the obvious, their banana pudding is just superb. But, I did not enjoy their handling of customers in NYC store near rockefeller. They are so disorganized, bad customer service. Hope this gets better
One of the good one and must try in NY if you are visiting. Their banana pudding is very delicious but they do contains eggs so it’s NOT for vegetarian or vegan. Chai latte is definitely better then SB.
