Something has gone rotten at this Madison Reed branch. I'm a longtime fan, have been purchasing products online and getting color services since MR launched, at various different locations, and my experience has always been positive - until I tried Huntington. The young woman who "greeted" me was hostile and cold. Sadly, she was also the person who gave me a super halfhearted shampoo. To add insult to injury, she also acted indifferent, and then snapped at me when I inquired about the INSANE amount of dye left on my face and neck after having my roots done. It was incredibly upsetting. Her reply was: "it happens. " She then said, "not my fault" because she wasn't the one who did my actual color (the colorist was fine, btw). She then got really snippy with me, despite the fact that I never lost my cool. I walked out of the salon with a very dark ring of color around my hairline, and on my cheekbones and neck, after having been talked to by basically a petulant, surly teenager. Definitely a "customer's always wrong" vibe. Also weird that she gave me a round brush for sopping wet hair, and acted like I asked for a Faberge egg when I requested a comb, to comb out my wet hair before blowdrying. Surreal.

I was at Madison Reed today. I walked in and they were welcoming. I had the male colorist, who made a great recommendation for my hair color. He did a nice job. I did have the same experience with color all around my face, and the womenwho washes hair barely gave it a wipe and told me it would fade through out the day. Sorry this is blatantly false. Everything was fine until the women who washed my hair (I use the term wash loosely, she scrubbed it for all of 30 seconds) was doing my blowout. I asked for it super straight. She clearly is not experienced with blow outs or just ignored my request, and it kept looking frizzier and frizzier. I was polite and told her I would finish it at home. She said if I had kept my head up, it would have come out as requested. I said most people have there head buried in a phone during a service, I would of happily lifted my head from my book to accomodate her. At the register she refused to break down the services and didn't want to give me 20% off as a first time customer, which was offered on the website when I booked online. I was on the waitlist, so I didn't pay online. She continued to argue with me, finally a manager gave the discount. The woman asked me what my tip would be, and I said I tip in cash (I think it is preferred and it is not taxed) she stated " Oh so your not giving a tip", at this point the manager came over and took over. The manager Ashley was very nice and offered to blow my hair out. I declined. I really liked the man who colored my hair, he was so nice. However, I will not return due to the extreme rudeness of the hair washer/blow out and front desk person.

Similar to other clients' experiences. Left sitting there for an hour, no one came up to me during that time. The colorist was messy, dye was on my cheeks, all around my hairline. I had to wipe it off when I got home. Also, hair was not washed thoroughly, there was so much left on my scalp, got on my pillows. Sloppy.

Went for a root color today and a blowout. They left me sitting there more than 1hr. Did not use any Vaseline or anything to protect skin around the hairline. Once they finished washing, I had a ring of black around my entire hairline. After the blowout the girl tried to clean it and then gave me 1 package of the wipes to try at home since it wasn't coming out. I felt my scaly after and it was full of hair dye. She didn't wash my hair clean. I now have so much dye on my scalp.

I was used to Manhattan salons that charge a fortune.
My hair color came out far past my wildest dreams. No chemicals, soft, beautiful hair.
They don’t do eyebrows! The color is end.
Well worth it. Just buy the product and do them yourself.
