M-Spec Performance

Got my 2017 330i serviced over at the location in Middle Village, everyone is so nice and I just love how quick and flawless they get the job done. I have alot more mods I have to get done after I come back from vacation:)

They were trying to charge me $550 just to look at my car. Not do anything to it, just look at it! Ridiculous!

M-Spec performed a complimentary multipoint inspection of my Porsche Panamera 4S that I just purchased pre-owned. They also performed a brake and coolant flush. The staff was very informative, patient, and professional.
*UPDATE#1 had an issue with my AC. Problem diagnosed and repaired. Jason was great. He worked with my warranty company, and my warranty actually paid them double the amount they originally billed them for! RoadVantage Warrantees are great! He assured me that the work would be guaranteed! AC works great!
**UPDATE#2: The original repair failed after just 2 months. Freon leaked slowly from the o-ring they had just replaced. Brought the car in as per their work "guarantee. " They confirmed the failure of the original repair but now found a new leak from an adjacent pressure line hose. They now are billing my warranty company another $1500 to diagnose and recharge the system a second time, along with replacing the hose. Thankfully, the warranty (RoadVantage) authorized the entire cost again. I've been waiting for the hose to come in. It's been 2 weeks since I brought the car to them with this. I picked the car up in the meantime because I didn't want it sitting in a shop so long. The driver's seat, doorsill, b pillar liner, and steering wheel were covered in dirt and grease. I really hope they get it all right this time. I don't want to have to come back a third time, and I really don't want them to bill my warranty again for an AC issue. RoadVantage has been very generous. (I don't want to press my luck) so far, it's been a total of $2800 to replace a $3 o-ring, $200 AC pressure hose, and to charge the system 2 times. My local mechanic had suggested I go to the dealer for AC issues because German AC systems can be tricky and nuanced. I brought the car to M-Spec because they assured me they have the expertise to fix AC issues. I hope I wasn't wrong in trusting them. They have great reviews and have been responsive thus far. We ll see.

EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS IT WILL SAVE YOU TIME MONEY AND MORE CAR PROBLEMS! If you think you are going to professionals who know what they are doing, let me give you a valueable message before you make a VERY COSTLY MISTAKE. This place right here is my personal definition of legal robbery. Unfortunetly I made the biggest mistake ever by going here and not paying attention to other reviews. These people had took my ML63 Mercedes in and told me they knew what they were doing before I moved forward with them. They not only charged me an arm and a leg for just a diagnostic which I never heard of if your doing your work with the shop, but they charged me $1050 to replace a intake boot and air filter which the average shop would charge $200 for if even. This was to posssibly remove an engine light my car was displaying. They told me they usually test drive a car before returning it, for some reason they decided not to test drive my car and I was wondering why, to find out that when I went and paid $1600 for a diagnostic fee, air filter and intake boot replacement (RIP OFF) I went to take my car from where they parked it, that my whole airbag suspension was completely shot from the back and my car was not lifting. I went to the person whom dealth with me for the payment (Calvin) he had told me if they can take a look at the car and hold it for a couple days before calling me back after 3-4 days and telling me my airbags are messed up. KEEEP IN MIND I NEVER WENT THERE WITH THIS BEING THE PROBLEM OR THIS COMING UP IN THEIR WHAT THEY CALL LEVEL ONE AND LEVEL 2 diagnostic which is another way of them finding reasons to charge extra money to their customers. After me telling them this was never anything wrong on my car they told me my car was messed up and they didnt do anything that had to do with my suspension so it wasnt their problem, before contradicting themself and telling me that had to drop my air suspension before lifting my car or it can blow my airbags. Then I told them they were suppose to notify me that this happened to the car and they told me they didnt test drive it because it felt unsafe, but they parked my car away from the shop which means they lied, they did drive my car atleast to the parking spot but wanted to act like they knew nothing about my suspension being shot and my dash board saying MALFUNCTION. I went on to tell them to diagnost what the problem in my suspension could be so I can get an idea of what happen, so I wait another 5 days before they call me and tell me my "air bags looked torn" but I had gotten these airbags replaced from mercedes 6-8 months prior, so that goes to tell me their mechanics blew my airbags and they try to act oblivious and not take accountability for their actions. Then they told me because they "liked me so much they would help me resolve the issue by fixing the issue for a heavily discounted rate" when they dont know me from a hole in the wall. They gave me a price of $800 for the airbags to be replaced with me providing the part which came out to $1200 and they told me that it can possibly also be the compressor and they wouldnt know till they replace the airbags. I WENT AND PICKED up my vehicle and left with a shot suspension before I lost another $1200. I went to another shop and replace both airbags and paid $600 with the parts included. ALSO MY ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL HERE AND THEY NEVER REPLACED my air filter, and they held my car for nearly a MONTH. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LIE TO YOU, and with No REMORSE. WHAT A SAD BUSINESS THEY ARE RUNNING TO TAKE MONEY FROM PEOPLE AND RUIN THEIR CARS AND THEN LIE ON TOP OF IT ALL. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, they will charge AND arm and a leg for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THEY NEVER TOLD ME THE NAME OF THE OWNER BUT THE WHOLE TIME WERE TELLING ME THEY WILL SPEAK TO THE OWNER AND I KNOW FOR A FACT I WAS SPEAKING TO THE OWNER. HIS NAME IS JASON AND HE HAS A PARNTER NAMED PHIL, they both are the owners but will never tell you that, and those are the scammers who spoke to me after Calvin was left speechless.

10am appointment for an oil change and a visual inspection of my front brake to find the source of a rub. Was told my car should be ready the next day, and that they had a few cars in front of me. What’s the point of booking appointments if the time isn’t respected? Told them if it wasn’t ready that day I’d go elsewhere, so they promised they’d have it finished by end of day. Oil change was $200 which felt steep but I was already there so I approved it. Website states FREE RIDES TO HOME OR WORK. After driving myself to the appointment, I was told they didn’t do that, so I paid for an Uber to take me home. I paid for an Uber back at 5: 30 to pick up my car and when I got there the oil change was complete. They did a $40 wheel balance which they thought might fix the sound coming from the wheel, but the sound persists. I was quoted $850 for a wheel bearing replacement which I won’t be doing at that cost.

Update: the shop called me to see how they could make it right and offered to reimburse me for the Uber rides. I was told they were short staffed which is why they couldn’t drop off customers. They are all nice people, I just think they need to sort out their organization of how they book their appointments.

After having a repair screwed up by a local garage, I scheduled a 10am appointment online with M-Spec Glendale for our 2005 BMW X3 on a Sunday evening. The next day, Monday, Jason from M-Spec called at 9am to confirm my 10am appointment. When I pulled into their lot at 10am exactly, Calvin from M-Spec called to check on my arrival, and then came out to meet me in the parking lot. Their level of professionalism, courtesy, and communication was evident and remained throughout. After running a full spectrum diagnostic on our vehicle, we left the vehicle to address the issues needing repair and have the car inspected. We can now say, after driving the car for a month after getting it back from M-Spec, that it's like driving a new car. The engine runs so smooth and quiet and the ride is quite enjoyable. We highly recommend M-Spec for all of your foreign car needs. Thanks to Jason, Calvin and the entire staff at M-Spec.

Nothing exceptional. Car left shop in worse condition than it entered. Not an easy job but all the tech had to do was ask me how he should approach the problem of accessing oil pan plug. Instead his approach damaged the under panels which I later had to spend two hours under the car on jack stands to fix and fasten so it wouldn't drag on the ground. The oil pan plug also now actively leaked. I spent another $200 at another shop to get the threads cleaned up and stop that leak.

The first time I came in the spring to get inspected they tried up selling $2,000+ in suspension work to get a passing NYS inspection. I declined and found out later you don't fail the inspection for leaky struts.

This visit they marked up headlights almost $1,000 each in their repair estimate. Their posted labor rate wasn't accurate either. Codes we're not explained. This is the second and last time I will come here. I was really hoping to find M-Spec as my home garage. Been to worse, looking for better.

Great service! They guys provide a very detailed inspection and are very trustworthy. Jason was particularly a great help. Happy with all work they done on my car.

Literally the best auto repair experience I’ve ever had! I’ve dealt mostly with Jason but everyone there seems great to be honest. They are very transparent about all the work they perform and provide you picture updates as well. I’ll definitely be using them for all my mechanical needs going forward. So glad I came across this shop.

I have been use this this auto shop since my 2010 mini finish warranty. But the dealer service never fixed my car problems since I bought this brand new car at that time. Also the service fee was over charge for my mini in mini dealer shop. I found m-Spec-performance on the website. I drop my car there and told them all the problems I have to my car. They fixed all the problems for my car with very reasonable price (much cheaper than the dealer). I am completely trust them. They are very honest and professional and great service. Bought a VW GTI from Carvana and the brakes and rotors were toast. Called in and they dealt with me in a friendly and professional manner, and updated me with everything involved in the process, from dealing with the warranty company, to any updates concerning my vehicle's repair. Would highly recommend!

I didn’t have luck with M-spec. It’s been month since I took in my car for a side view mirror replacement. They never got all the parts and don’t answer my calls or call me back. Wanted to give them more business because they are in my neighborhood and I was expecting a good experience because of the reviews on Google. Sadly not my experience, though.

I came in for a suspension diagnostic for my E60. I had a feeling my lower control arm was bad but needed a professional opinion on anything else i should replace before i begin ordering parts. Phil was great from the start. They took my car in immediately and discovered i needed to change my control arms and shocks. I took my car previously to The Stance Shop and the owner himself stated it was my steering rack which is a $1000 repair for the labor alone and about $1300 for the part. For $55, i got a thorough diagnostic and even pictures of exactly what needed to be replaced. They definitely take their time here with the cars and don’t try to swindle you.

These guys are the best in queens, and arguably in the city. I will always support a family owned local business, and these guys bring the high level of care and quality control. They work fast, and get you the best prices. They had my F30 diagnosed and fixed in 48 hours. Trust these guys, you won’t regret it.

Went in for a brake flush and oil change on an M2 and was in an out in 90 mins. Definitely will be coming back for all maintenance and performance needs! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend mSpec!

This review was overdue. I heard about this place through a friend and I thought they were just hyping it up at first so it took me a while to actually bring my car to them. I took my CLA 250 to Helm's Bro.back in December because the car was shaking and making a rattling noise. They told me the car needed the water pump, crank vent and thermostat replaced totaling 5k. I declined that and took to a friend who works on Mercedes cars and he replaced a spark plug and a melted coil. Car was good for 6 months until 3 weeks ago when it all came back. I also sensed a smell of gas inside the car when it was running, M - Spec took a look at the car and called me back within 4 hrs. These guys found a leak of exhaust was melting my coil, replaced only some studs and gasket. Replaced the coil and spark faulty spark plug and sent me on my way for a significant discount compared to what Helms, Bro.originally priced out. I saved over $2500 for sure and let me remind you that Helm, Bro did not mention any of the issues M- Spec took care of. I won't bring my baby pearl anywhere else. Ty Phil and the M Spec Guys

Brought my 2019 BMW 440i Gran Coupe here to get a my ECS tuning charge pipe and MST cold air intake installed, All the guys were professional and they did not try and rob me with pricing either. I am planning to bring my car back very soon. I highly recommend this shop

I didn't have an appointment but they took my car in anyway. They were very accommodating. They were fast and very pleasant. I will be a regular customer going forward. So happy I brought my car there!

I had an issue with the car that ultimately couldn’t be reproduced but my small experience there was great! The person I spoke to on the phone was super friendly and also took care of me when I dropped the car off. Even though they couldn’t duplicate my issue, they were courteous in telling me the other issues that my car had. They are professional and definitely know what they’re handling. The location is great too as it’s at a dead end block so they have a lot of space to store cars and work. I am very grateful for their service. Will be going back once I need work done.
