Lockport Locks & Erie Canal Cruises

This was an interesting experience traveling through the locks on the Erie Canal. It is an experience few are familiar with today. We got to see the operation of the canal locks firsthand. For those that may not be familiar with the term lock, it is, "a device used for raising and lowering boats, ships and other watercraft between stretches of water of different levels on river and canal waterways" (Wikipedia). This entire region of New York State is lovely as well. The boat was clean and well maintained and the staff were great!

Just a short, fun, relaxing little tour. Also, the bartender makes a very tasty Bloody Mary and they serve fresh baked cookies!

Very interesting. Wife drug me there to see. Wasn't really enthused about it originally but the operation and history of it was cool. Would recommend to others.

Beautiful afternoon, and I easily bought tickets online. Boat was not crowded, so we could be upstairs or down on the paddle wheel. The woman in the office was not pleasant at all, which was the only negative.

We decided to check out the locks while visiting Niagara Falls. Was well worth the shot drive over to Lockport. The caption/ narrator did a awesome job describing the locks and telling their story.

The ambiance was nice, but that's about it. This is the 2nd time I've attended a party here, and the food is always lackluster. The salad tasted like dirt, then they took it away when some hadn't even gotten any or weren't finished. The main courses lacked flavor and desperately needed salt, some consistency issues also. The meat carvings were good, however. The breadsticks were almost inedible. The dessert was very good. It was some sort of chocolate layer cake.

Our luncheon was VERY delicious.as always, the chef and his kitchen staff (including the bartender) served up a great dishes ️️

Long forgotten but it what made upstate NY big. It truly is a bygone era but with a nice old houses /mansions especially now during the fall

A good and unique experience if you’re in the area and are interested in things like this. The captain on tour provided good historical information.

Nice cruise boat. Only go if you are keen on experiencing the canal locking system, you would be disappointed otherwise.

The owner is a terrible, miserable person. He should be ashamed to be the man that he is. I will never do business with him again. Staff otherwise is great.

I would definitely recommend. Our guide gave us a lot of good information and was very nice. To take a 2 hour boat ride for $21,50 was very reasonable.

This tour is an amazing experience. So much history to see and also the story telling of the history is great. If you're in the area, it's a must do.

This was the last activity of a vacation to Niagara Falls. What a great way to wrap up a trip! This is a leisurely 2 hour cruise in the Erie Canal. The captain narrated with a history of the canal and its construction. We got to go through 2 locks which was amazing. The cost is reasonable ($18 with AAA discount), there are snacks and drinks available (again reasonably priced), passengers are permitted to move from the bottom to the top level of the boat. We walked through the event area on the dock and it is beautifully decorated for a wedding or other event. Overall, this is a delightful experience - don't hesitate to take this cruise!

Relaxing and educational cruise. A must do in Lockport. Beer and wine were available. Staff were friendly and courteous.

Such a cool experience! I would say under the age of 5 might not have the best time, but definitely a great and affordable family outing. The Capitan is very informative and funny while running a very efficient crew. If I have any excuse to go back near here, I would go again.

We had an incredible experience for the entire family - for kids and adults alike. Never had we thought that for $20, we would witness this 200 year old engineering marvel.

I went here with a group to see locks as a fun thing to do before we went on some wine tastings. I didn't know what to expect in this and I was surprised at how much fun this was.

We got to ride through the locks, which honestly I didn't expect. The Captain of the boat explained how everything works during the process in a very fun and entertaining way. I was amazed at how fast that water flows into the locks.

We rode the canal for a while and they played a few songs, including that "15 miles on the Erie Canal" song then we turned around and went back down the locks again.

At this point I thought the ride was done, but no! We went down stream and went under the bridges that raise up for boats and got to see some beautiful houses and a church made from the stones that were removed to make the canal.

I highly recommend this ride to anyone who can spend a few hours on it. It's worth more than they charge for the experience.

Visited Lockport with my scout troop. We took a tour of the "caves" & learned some pretty cool information that I didn't know about Lockport and the canal. Got to watch 3 boats go through the lock system while we ate lunch. Will probably return with my wife for a day trip to Lockport this summer.

Was attending a wedding here. Great staff, the canal cruise was wonderful. Being on a boat/elevator is one of the coolest things I have experienced. The food was good, but that staff really made the experience great.

The captain and his boat and his lovely assistants who served us dinner afterwards were excellent the cruise down the Erie canal through the locks was just spectacular thank you very much

This was the most amazing tour! I am so glad we went on it, and will never forget it. Our guide knew so much and presented it in such a way that it wasn't overwhelming. I can't think of another tour I've been on where it cost so little and was such fun and we learned so much. I would gladly go back every time we're in the vicinity. I mean, folks, this is THE ERIE CANAL. You know, the one with the song and all that.

The tour was okay. The boat ride was the same has the cave walk just much more slower and shorter probably 5 mins. The tour could have been more engaging and interactive for the ticket price.

What a amazing tour of the Lockport canal! I wish it was longer and offered alcohol but even without it, it was the bomb and you cannot beat the price. If I could give them 100 stars I would.

The capitan was a hoot and it was a fun experience. I'd recommend it as a nice activity for the fam.

First time visiting this place, and all I have to say is AWSOME! If you like a nice little boat ride (1hr. 45 mins.) And learn a little history this is it. I highly recommend for the whole family. Small restroom and snacks and drinks on the boat as well as at the shop.

Fun experience. Disappointed the gift shop was closed when we got back from the boat ride so we could not buy souvenirs.

This place is incredible. The walk is very pleasant, and the shops are just a stone's throw away from the canal.

The ride is just the right speed and duration. The locks are a sight to see atleast once in a lifetime especially kids. We went during the pandemic and realized there's really no scope for social distance on the boat. Everyone did wear masks.

We had our wedding here during the time of Covid. They worked with us to take care of everything we needed. They seamlessly moved the event outdoors and really made it so I did not have to stress about anything. They took thorough precautions about food handling and the bars all had sneeze guards that looked elegant so it did not look out of place at our wedding. I would 1000x recommend this as a beautiful wedding spot. The food was delicious and they are professionals! Thank you so much to Mike and his team for allowing me to have to wedding of my dreams even in a time like today where I thought that could not be possible.

One of the best things you can do in the Niagara Falls area. Getting to experience traveling on the canal is a unique and unforgettable experience. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff and funny captain. Would do again, and recommend to anyone.

Boat ride lasted for about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Was fun, relaxing, and informative. The captain takes you up and down two locks (basically, an elevator for boats) with the boat rising about 50 feet higher than the starting point. Drinks (including alcoholic) and light snacks are available for purchase on the boat as well. The boat has two floors that you are able to freely walk up and down throughout the trip. Crew was friendly and knowledgeable and the price was fair. Would definitely recommend trying it out.

We didn't do the cruise we did a walking tour of the area. It was great. The volunteer's they had walking around were friendly and very knowledgeable. It was a nice way to spend our day.

It was a lot of fun. Very relaxing going through the locks. Would definitely recommend going on this tour through the Erie canal channel locks.
