Very fun and unique experience:) Our color expert Luna knew exactly how to create the perfect shade and did not make us feel rushed during the process. Zero complaints, great place. Also, the bathroom was in service! What more can you ask for?

My daughter and I went here on a mommy & me day. We had a great time! Ms E took care of us and she was great friendly, personable and knowledgeable. We were seated right away and I was VERY happy with my color within minutes…. Thanks E I’ll be back soon!

Very fun experience! My daughter and I created two lipglosses and the shade matched perfectly. The place is very clean and the chairs are super comfortable. We received one one-on-one attention and the guy made sure we were happy with every part of our lipglosses. The negative part was that my sister ordered the experience as a gift and we never received a gift card. At the store, they told us that my sister had to email customer service even though we had an order number. She had to go through the hassle of sending us money because customer service didn’t respond. Also, the bathroom was out of service.

Luna was awesome and very attentive. Would highly recommend her. Surprise for the ladies, but the guys wound up getting custom lip balm.

Jesenia was our technician, and she is fabulous and patient and knowledgeable about the color mixing. My friend literally asked her to mix like 10 different shades before she found the right one. It was a fun, unique experience. 10/10 recommend. The only thing I don’t like is that they don’t have the frosty finish I like so I got satin. Nbd.

I was a bit hesitant about my reservation because of the most recent reviews. I’m glad to say that I experienced the opposite and had a great time.

They have only been at this Wooster St location over a month. Contrary to other reviews, this location does have a restroom for guests to use.
We were greeted promptly and had a very short wait time before we were seated. Lazara (apologies if I misspelled her name) was fantastic! She was very informative and patient while we chose the best mix for our lipstick and lip balm.

I would definitely go back!

Waited 30minutes past our confirmed appointment and they tended to others and a big party. Was not impressed at all.

So even after you confirm appointment, they can still cancel it for no reason at all.
Best part about it, they don’t even have anyone to put in slot, they just cancel it. Then rebook it when you don’t agree to it and then turn around and say that appointment time is cancelled as well even tho you didn’t book it again. It’s best to go to Williamsburg site it’s a way better experience and location honestly. More knowledgeable staff about products and just way more enjoyable than soho location.
You’ve been warned

The experience was great! We had lots of fun. But, the lipstick we got at the end was not the same as the one we’ve tried while testing the colors.

Terrible customer service. I was ignored and judged the whole time I was there. I needed help figuring out what lipcolor would look good on my brown skin but I left disappointed and I didn't really like the color either.

I don’t normally write bad reviews but I had a beyond frustrating experience with lip lab. I had an appointment scheduled that I had set weeks before for my friends birthday as a surprise to her. A few hours before the appointment, I received a confirmation text and then two hours before the appointment, I received a cancellation text. I then tried to call multiple times, respond to the text I had received and emailed the place with no response or answer. I then went to the store about an hour before my appointment and they indeed did not have me on the schedule anymore and was unable to do anything about it. The staff was very unapologetic and did not acknowledge the huge inconvenience and horrible service provided. Instead the scheduling system was to blame and they were too busy to help us. I was really excited to bring my friend here for her birthday and instead had a horrible experience and will never come back.

Had an amazing time here creating the perfect wedding day lip shade during my bachelorette trip! Our technician listened to what we were looking for and created the perfect colors for my friend and me practically right away. Definitely recommend creating your custom color here!

I had a POOR experience at lip lab with Multiple issues including the lipstick issued to me was incorrect. I spoke to employee “Eve” the follow morning who did not
Apologize, did not provide service recovery and she also hung up on me.

Issues at soho
1. No A/C
2. Had to wait to be seated while another party after us was seated immediately
3. No restroom (have to use bathroom at restaurant next door)
4. Lipstick for other people in my party melted and had to be remade. Resulting in A longer wait (w/o AC)
5. Employee crossed out “ satin “
On my card and put matte after I specifically said I wanted a satin finish

Save your coins

I love them so much to get them for my birthday, but only thing that person who did them and didn't realize that my lip balm got mess up half of them got empty. I need to know if I can come back and get another new one. I didn't use them. I'm very disappointed about this for my birthday gift!

Def recommend this unique experience! Great for girls who have been looking for a shade that's not widely available in the market or boys who are looking for a good bday gift/dating spot - but I just - Wish the staff training is better about the color theory so not a lot of the slots on the mixing sheet got wasted.

Times after I requested using a deeper color for the mix they kept playing with different hues of the same level of brightness so it didn't get any darker for a while. (Not the guy appeared in the pic below he came in after the color mixing and helped the final production)

Well next time will request seeing the tray and pick directly from it.if you have something specific you want to achieve, don't be afraid to be a bit more assertive/hands-on to ensure the best experience.

For each lipsticks you got 4 mixings on a sheet, and if you made 2 pieces at once maybe you can enjoy a few more chances by being more decisive with your first. Bringing a picture helps - but also be smart about your descriptions as the same color on your phone could manifest differently on your skin tone:)

The lip balm is surprisingly pigmented while the lipstick (even the matte finish) is surprisingly moisturizing.

Custom colors and good service. Expensive and generally I prefer long lasting lip color. This seems to be regular wear lipstick.

Love the experience. I came with a friend, and we were seated quickly. We did not have a prior appointment time and called last minute to see if we could come in. There was one staff per group, and she was helpful in assisting us in choosing what we wanted. We even have side conversations during our time there. The experience itself is one hour long. I decided to do tinted lip balm, which matches me so well. Now it has become my most used lip product. It's worth the experience. IG: Kairaurora

The Lip Lab is very small and sandwiched in but they make the space work. Time will fly when you are there! Nuria patiently walked us through the process answering all of our questions and offering insight on the changes that would get us to the colors that looked best on us.

I highly recommend this as part of a girls day:)

I had such an amazing time. With so many different colors to choose from. I made two beautiful colors with Ana. Ana was super sweet, funny, and artistic. We talk about make-up, museums and tattoo’s too. I will be coming back very soon.

Overall the experience was wonderful, and I love my lipstick! However, a few days before our reservation, it was cancelled without an explanation. Customer service was quick to fix it, but still frustrating.
Additionally, we felt rushed during our experience, and did not get offered other products. At the end of our service I overheard another group get offered to make a lip balm - I would have loved to do that in addition to my lipstick! I was definitely bummed about that.

I recently visited the lip lap to celebrate my sister, the bride to be! We worked with Jessica and Jessenia and they were so great! The really helped us find a color lipstick that suited us all. This is really great for a girls day out, a bachelorette party or even for mother's day. I would highly recommend.

I went to lip lab to try to have some fun and create a new shape for myself. I feel I was a bit rushed and I wish the technician helped put a bit more in advising me on what would look good.but other than that I did have a good time. I love the concept and I find it so cool that you can customize the entire lipstick to what you need and want.

Experienced Lip Lab Soho last weekend for the first time and had a good experience! It IS a little cramped, but to be honest, that's to be expected for that area. I was given the run down: $65 for the first lipstick, then I could add on additional lipsticks or balms as I wanted. I chose to do 2 lipsticks and 1 balm (i was traveling and there isn't a location near me) and my 'artist' and I got to work! He really listened to what I was going for and started mixing, the first one I asked for a magenta/red with a sheen to it so I picked the satin finish and paired that fun magenta pink with a sleek silver holder. It took about 4 mixes to get the shade I was really going for, but he nailed it and really listened to my feedback and got us where we needed to be. The second shade I wanted to finally get a perfect red for my skintone, so again he went to work! This one took a bit more work, as it kept coming out a bit more orange, but after about 6-7 mixes we nailed it, and I paired that one with a matte red holder. Lastly, I had brought a balm with me that is my holy grail and was recently discontinued so I wanted to match it. This one was a bit easier to do since we had a starting point, so 3 mixes in and boom I had my balm. I loved that I got to name the lipsticks as well! My magenta color was named 'afterparty' and the red one was named 'power play' the balm I named 'my honey' since the original balm I brought was named honey, but this one is mine ;) the engraving process on the lipstick holders was super fun to watch as well! Overall I give it a 4 ONLY because I wish there was a bit more space, i'm lucky i was on the end but if i had been in the middle of the counter I would have felt very rushed to get out of there. I'd go back again, I wish there was one near where I live.
