BRIDES READ REVIEWS BEFORE COMING HERE. The tailors at this location botched my friend’s wedding dress while doing alterations, which she paid nearly $1000 for in addition to the cost of the dress. After taking the dress to two independent tailors, both of which said they wouldn’t touch it because it was ruined by how the alterations performed. When my friend tried the dress on post alteration.they rushed her out the door, and she didn’t have time to try it on before flying out the next morning. She wasn’t aware of how bad it was until she got home. She had signed a waiver (before alterations were done; this waiver is mandatory).

This company’s was willing to try to fix the alterations, but it would cost another $1000+ for her to fly back out and they refused to refund the cost of the alterations. She will have to buy a new dress.

Do not alter your dress here and consider purchasing from a company with better customer service in case anything goes wrong with your once in a lifetime purchase.

DO NOT USE THEIR IN HOUSE TAILORS. They make you sign a waiver saying they don't take responsibility for the work of their tailors and now I understand why. Their tailor botched both the neckline and the silhouette of my dress and it looks drastically different from how the dress was designed so I had to take it to an outside tailor and get it fixed.

You don't save any money doing alterations in house. It was close to $900 just for standard fit and bustle, whereas outside tailors are more like $200 for the same work.

If you care about your wedding dress, find a tailor who has before/after photos of their work and read the reviews. They literally just put you with whoever's available and you don't know anything about the person's work.

I finally found my perfect dress after visiting multiple boutiques in NYC. Kristian was absolutely amazing to work with. She made me feel 100% comfortable from the start, was extremely knowledgeable, and was a total gem to work with. She didn’t make me feel pressured at all - she just wanted me to be happy with my decision, which I really appreciated. I am so happy with my experience here and will make sure to recommend L’fay and Kristian. I can’t thank them enough!

I am from Toronto, Canada and I had booked an apportionment at L'Fay bridal when I was visiting NYC. I had an amazing experience. They had a beautiful selection of gowns. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend L'Fay to all brides.

TLDR - beware! I had a nightmare experience at this store. They play bait and switch games, disappear once they make a sale, and the regional manager is either condescending or an outright racist. A full accounting of my nightmare experience would take a novel, so the abridged experience is below.

I was so excited for my wedding dress - apart from size, the dress I found in the store was exactly what I was looking for. However, when I received the dress half a year later, I noticed several details were different. Only after, did I find out the dress they sell may not be the dress they ship you!

The dress details (scalloping and cups) were completely different on the dress I received. You'd think these would be easy fixes to address, especially when sales associate and the manager agree that the details on the dress don't match the one in the store.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this experience, but it was difficult getting a hold of my sales associate, Valerie, after the sale. She'll wait until near business close to give you a call and disappear minutes later when you try to call her back. I guess the customer doesn't matter after they have your money. When I finally was able to get a hold of Valerie, she said that to make the dress they sent look like the sample in the store, they would charge an additional $800. Even if I let them take advantage of me, I had no confidence in their ability to deliver on their promises.

Bridal store? More like circus. I was sent personal information for a different bride and experienced delays because of wrong shipping labels due to mis-spelled addresses. No one was willing to be accountable to correct these errors.

The final straw was the regional manager sending a nasty, threatening, off-color email.

"As of 12Pm today UPS will be canceled and we no longer can offer our help. You had your chance to have Designer herself correct little lace difference on the neckline (as you know all dresses are handmade not copy on machine in China) and you still didn’t take it. "

Thanks Renata, you'll be happy to know my Chinese fiance wants nothing to do with any dress you sell.

I'm scrambling now to find a dress alternative, I won't be wearing this one because of all the trauma associated with dealing with Valerie and Renata at L'Fay. I hope your experience will be better than mine, but why take the risk? BRIDES- wedding planning is stressful enough so do yourselves a favor and buy your dress at a different boutique.

My experience at L'Fay Bridal was just so-so in comparison to some other bridal boutiques. The gowns I tried on seemed to be in poor condition (dirty and tethered fabric) and the lighting wasn't great, which I felt took away from the experience. The consultant was friendly and did her best to make sure I was feeling comfortable. One thing to keep in mind, is that shop reported they only carry up to a bridal size 6.

My experience at L’Fay was a true fairy tale. Mckenzie is the best, so sweet and so considerate. She gave me the most amazing treatment, and found me my dream dress. I went in having a completely different idea about what I wanted, and she let me play around and find something so unique and special. My sister came in the next day and also found the most perfect, gorgeous dress, thanks to Mckenzie’s expertise. Getting to spend time with my mom and sister amongst these exquisite gowns was a memory I’ll never forget. Randy did both my sister and my alterations and he went above and beyond to make our dresses perfection. He is a true gem and incredibly skilled. I will really miss going in and seeing these beautiful people.

If I can give ZERO stars I would! My experience here was terrible. Honestly left feeling so sad. Today I had my appointment. I don't remember the lady name who was attending me to find my dress but I can tell you her vibe towards me was as if I shouldn't even be there. I believe she treated me as such because of my budget. When booking I stated my budget range. I also stated the date for my wedding. I told her I was open to trying out dresses. She showed only sample dresses. When I mean show.she just pointed at the rack. No pulling out dresses for me or anything. The 3 didn't even fit me and basically was my only option she said. I asked about ALL the other dresses that were in my price range and she said that I wouldn't be able to get them altered in time, so she never showed me them. This for a fact I know is a lie because why take my appointment? If I would have gotten a 6k dress would that also not be able to get altered in time? She offered no help, was completely distant and looked as if she was done with me the minute I told her my budget. I was unaware of the robe in the fitting room. While I was switching out a dress I had to cover myself with my small shirt. After the second dress I asked if the robe with the tag on it was for me to use (looked like it was for sale and left there) she said yes. On your site there are 4 designers in in my price range. That is about 20 options. Why wasn't any of those an option for me? I felt something that should have been a wondering experience was robbed from me. Anyways future brides this place is not worth the time. I ended up finding my dress at Wona Bridal <3

I just picked up my dress to take home today. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my bridal shopping! Julianna was so patient during my shopping & made it such a special experience. It was the only bridal store I went to she made me want to be a L’fay bride! My alterations experience was just as incredible. Amy couldn’t have been nicer or more talented. She made me so happy to come back each time! I highly recommend L’fay to any bride!

Sarah was absolutely phenomenal every step of the way! Highly recommend L’Fay Bridal, ask for sarah you won’t be disappointed!

Although I didn't purchase my bridal gown at L'Fay the stylist was amazing, and I had a great experience. She listened, wasn't pushy, and was beyond sweet. Beautiful store and beautiful gowns! I recommend to all brides who want a luxurious experience.

Sizing is not inclusive at all. There are many brides who aren’t a size 0-8. I was really excited to visit this store because of all the Berta gowns they carry.

Overall, I was just disappointed with my experience. My attendant was very sweet and understanding because she saw how upset I was. She even explained to me how many of these dresses don’t even fit her! You need to get with the times and start obtaining larger sizes & be more inclusive. I’ve been to several dress stores where all dresses fit me, why can’t L’Fay be the same way?

I said yes to the dress on sept 23,2021 and worked with Aian. Aian was so accommodating last minute with me having to change my second appointment. Aian kept the bridal salon open until 8pm and was super patient with my indecisive self. I can't wait until my dress arrives to visit again. I recommend all my fellow brides here!

I had already been to a few bridal stores, but my experience at L’Fay was unmatched. I went there looking for a specific Tom Sebastién dress and knew ahead of time that they did not carry it (no one in the US does), but Aian was so helpful and did everything he could to help me envision it from similar pieces in the store. Ultimately, I ended up choosing a Berta that I had previously tried on at another store and loved. Aian helped me pair it with the perfect overlay skirt and matching veil that I had envisioned for the Tom Sebastién dress I originally went into L’Fay for. I ended up loving the Berta even more! Also, the seamstress was able to think of a unique solution to hide the overlay skirt seam. Overall, Aian and the staff were so knowledgeable/helpful and it was the best experience finding my dream dress!

Aian made me feel like an absolute QUEEN in the gowns I tried on! I did not go into l’fay expecting to find my dream wedding dress and ended up absolutely falling in love with one of Aian’s picks for me. We had a blast and Aian was not pushy with trying to get the sale. Aian knew I had appointments the next day and said if I wanted to come back after to let them know! I ended up coming back the next day to say YES!

Mostly Besta dresses. The assistant was super nice and stayed within my budget when I remained firm in the price. I felt the environment was comfortable and professional at all times with appropriate Covid precautions in place. I would say the dresses tailor to dress size 6-10 at most. My hips make the bottom a 14 and 10-12 on my breasts making dresses a challenge. Few dresses around 2k budget.

I never do reviews for many reasons but I couldn't let other brides waste their time and money on this store. I wish I could leave zero stars. Aside from their alterations person, everything about this store was a nightmare. Listen to the bad reviews- go to a different store. They didn't have any of my dresses in their store until 3 weeks before my actual wedding date, which was impossible to find someone to do alterations in a short notice. This basically leaves you forced to do alterations with them (which is $675 per dress). They left me extremely stressed out. When I spoke to their flagship supervisor in Philadelphia she was also very unprofessional and kept telling me I had time to find someone else to do alterations and had an attitude the entire time. The workers here are pushy and only care about their compensations. They also took measurements of me for all of my dresses, yet somehow every single one of the dresses arrived five sizes too big which was a frustrating alteration process especially for the cups in the bras. Lastly, their communication is awful. I am coming in from New Jersey and the consultant told me my dresses arrived and that I can come in and finally pick them up. Upon my arrival, only one dress was there so I had to go back to NY again numerous times. They don't respond to emails or phone calls until maybe a week later if you're lucky. Just save your time and energy and go elsewhere.

I wish I wish I saw those reviews before I went to by my Berta dress at this place. I just don’t even know how to put my words and feeling together knowing that I signed that paper they handed me. Iam so so sad! I hope others will see this too. If you buy a dress from them Do NoT DO Alterations at this place! And don’t believe everything they say prior to buying take everything with the grain of salt. I was so upset that my wedding being postponed cause of pandemic already and after seeing my dress being all dirty at the bottom (they refused to do the dry cleaning even though they did say it can be done before I bought it) and rumpled at the bottom, I just can’t deal with this anymore. I walked out of those doors with the feeling of being used and heartbroken. I cried all day and just kept it to myself. The are just so inconsiderate! I hope other brides will see this too and won’t get into this situation.

L’fay was one of the 5th bridal locations that I had entered looking for a dress. I was actually feeling pretty hopeful about my experience and it did not disappoint. Amanda who had helped me look for a dress was very genuine and supportive along the journey. She let me try on as many dresses as I wanted until I found the one. I’m so happy to say that I found my wedding dress at L’fay and definitely recommend it to all brides to be!

Just wanted to share my bridal experience quickly. I bought a gown that I later realized I didn’t love, then went to several bridal shops in search of another dress and dealt with some consultants I felt could have been more helpful had they had more experience or knowledge. Really just felt defeated at that point. Then I somehow found myself at L’Fay with Melissa, the sweetest most down to earth and extremely talented consultant that I had the pleasure of dealing with. Seriously just the best. I vibe well with people who give off genuine energy and she was just that. Really helped me envision everything- pinning skirts on my dress giving me helpful alternatives to line the top of my dress. All around just my best experience and with her help I was able to say yes again to the dress! Couldn’t be happier! Thank you Melissa!

Where do I start! I was a unique bride entering into lfay bridal in NYC. I already had purchased a dress and realized I picked it for all the wrong reasons. I was extremely stressed about the pandemic and put way to much pressure on myself purchasing before it was "The One. " Melissa from LFAY in NYC was an absolute angel to myself and my friends and really helped me find the dress I know I am supposed to get married in. My timeline was short and the entire staff (also Mckenzie who helped with my follow up) assured me things would work out and my dress would be ready in the 6.5 month timeline. I wish I had better words to describe how talented Melissa is and thank you for helping me feel like a bride. I can't wait for alterations. Thank you, thank you! Every bride should go to Lfay!

Had a great experience at L'Fay from the very beginning of the appointment. The store has really limited the number of people shopping which made me feel safer in the store and my consultant was exceptionally sweet. She was able to take what I told her and what I liked on and steer me towards dresses that I wouldn't have picked by myself, but we're beautiful.

I can't thank Valerie enough for being patient with me and helping me find my dream dress! Originally, I made the trip to NYC and said yes to a dress, only to have doubts on the way home. I called first thing Monday and Valerie let me put the order on hold and come back the following weekend with my mom. After bringing back my mom, I said no to the original dress and yes to a new dress! I am so much happier this time, and Valerie was so accommodating with my back and forth indecisiveness. She wasn't pushy, was very sweet to work with and genuinely wanted me to be happy with my dress. I am so much happier this time around and thankful for Valerie and the team at L'Fay!

Melissa is a SAINT! I went to a bunch of bridal shops and was feeling so defeated by pushy consultants. Melissa was so patient, genuine, and really listened when I told her my likes and dislikes. The boutique itself is exquisite. Every single dress in there is unique and absolutely beautiful. If you want to feel like a true bride, I highly recommend L’Fay!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience at L’Fay. Melissa Perry is truly a godsend, and that’s putting it mildly. After looking at several top New York bridal salons, I was frustrated and disappointed to say the least. I had almost given up hope, until meeting Melissa. The moment I walked in, I knew I was in good hands. She worked with me to find the style that I loved, and made me feel comfortable and cared for (which is critical for any stressed out bride). Her attention to detail and endless knowledge of fashion was evident and her customer service skills are impeccable. And most importantly, she is an incredible human being.with fabulous style. She is kind, thoughtful, and patient and an absolute joy to be around. I’ve looked forward to all of my fittings with her and my fantastic (and talented) tailor Randy, and cannot recommend them or L’Fay enough.
