Highly recommend Catharina at Lemon Tree Salon! Her skills at coloring are top notch! I traveled three hours for my appointment this past Saturday and so glad I did! Had my hair triple processed with highlights, lowlights, and two pink tints throughout! Gave me tips to keep the colors vibrant and to last longer. Love, Love, Love the finished product! Everyone at the salon is friendly, and good, but Cat is incredible! She does the most amazing colors, and is the only one I let do my hair.

Cat is awesome! She is the best stylist I have ever been to. She found the best color for my style and always does an outstanding job. She also does amazing hair cuts. She has been cutting my son's hair since he was a year old. I have never left an appointment disappointed. My whole family loves her!

Very poor cut, uneven and choppy. The stylist was also not friendly and barely answered my questions The next stylist I visited to fix my hair was taken aback by how poorly done the cut was. They also had the wrong appt time written down. Cannot recommend.

I recently visited and received highlights from Jamie. She explained the process well and worked quickly and effectively to highlight my formally dyed red hair to blonde. Everyone working in the salon was welcoming and professional. I would recommend to friends and family!

I usually don't leave reviews but i am upset after my husband took my son for a high top fade and ended up with a buzz cut because the lady messed up so bad we have been a returning customer but unfortunately not anymore

Very hit or miss. They don't really do much if you're just getting a cut. I've had a few cuts there where I've come home and nobody can tell I got a haircut. Plus they aren't punctual. I've made appointments and still had to wait twenty minutes when there was only one other person and one stylist there.
Devet is kind of rude.and the manager smokes out the back but all the smoke blows back into the room. Very unprofessional.

Cat is awesome with blonde balayage, matching highlights to existing color and toning! If you need blonde hair up keep or a new dye job def book with cat

So disappointed. Cat was recommended to Me.when I made my appointment. I showed Cat a picture of me with a Bob haircut.and told her not to give me this Look. I had hair loss from Covid.it took me a year to grow my hair back to shoulder length.she not only gave me a Bob.cut but cut the front of my hair to my Chin. The woman did not care about what I wanted. I left in tears.it took One haircut to bring me back to my Covid experience and
the same feeling of losing my Hair plus It cost 50.with tip.so Sad and disappointed

I've been a customer here for a number of years. Never once did I leave here dissatisfied or disappointed. The staff are all courteous and friendly and I've never felt uncomfortable walking into or out of this salon. Stylist Cat has done really cool and unique hair color combinations, if that's something you're looking for. Good vibes from here all around, and the only hair salon I'll go to anymore!

*My response to the owner* - the reason why I was not satisfied the first time I visited is because the stylist arrived 30 mins late and had to stop my appointment half way through to take another client. In addition, during my most recent visit I offered to pay for the services and the male hair stylist told me that I did not have to. Lastly, saying I did not let the stylist finish is a lie. She was done.

I left here mortified. I called for a wash, blow out and trim. During scheduling with the receptionist I confirmed if they are able to do hair on people of color (I am African American). Despite how ridiculous that sounds (because you would think that a professional hair salon would be inclusive) I was put on hold for several minutes and it was confirmed that there would be no issues and they would be able to style my hair.

Upon arrival, I had a brief consultation with the stylist explaining what I wanted done. After the hair washing, immediately I could tell she had no idea what she was doing. She did not know how to trim my hair and she did not know how to blow dry. I had to stop her and explain to her what I wanted to get done. She literally was not familiar with the term "blow out. " When she was "finished" half of my hair was still wet.

After I became extremely upset, it was expressed to me that even though they had 4 hair stylists currently working there that day, that the ONE stylist that does black people's hair was not in that day.

This business should be embarrassed. A black hair stylist does not have the luxury to only do black people hair. But since every stylist there was white, they are okay that they only know how do white people hair. If have tightly coiled hair you apparently can only go there on certain days to get basic services.

And the worst part of it all I literally cant do anything about it. Just accept it. I have lived in this town for 20+ years and I just have to accept that there is a "White Only" hair salon down the street from me. Absolutely ridiculous. And to get service I have to travel to different towns or cities.

Absolutely loved my experience at Lemon Tree Hair Salon in New Paltz! My hair came out amazing and Cat was so easy to work with and created such an uplifting experience. Will absolutely keep coming back and recommending my friends!

I went there today for highlights and a cut and blow dry. I booked online, and received Lauren as my stylist. I have to tell you, I am beyond happy with how beautiful my hair came out. I have also used Cat, and she's equally as wonderful! Lauren got my color exactly right and my cut. I'm super boring and like my hair long, and she listened to me without trying to convince me otherwise. She spent 3 hours on my hair! Again, can't say enough good things. On top of this, the salon was super busy and all the women were handling it so well (I'd be crying in a corner). Will definitely be going back!

I have been going to Lemon Tree for sometime now I really like the crew especially Danny, the manager, and Duvet. Today I had a cut and color. Danny is truly master at his job and really a nice Person. He did a wonderful job, I thank him much

Kristina is the best! I took my son to get his haircut and it turned out awesome. He’s been to many places that don’t listen to what I say but Kristina listened and it turned out great. She got my son and daughter involved in the process and they had the best time. She even took the time to make my daughter feel special and washed her hair (best feeling) and styled it for her. We will definitely be back!

I was able to make an appointment the night before online for a haircut. My stylist was Lauren who listened to me during our brief consultation and then gave me a great cut. It was nice working with her! The appointment started exactly on time and the salon was friendly and clean.

Kristina is top notch barber and hairstylist. Both my wife and I go see her. We followed her to Lemon Tree and would highly recommend her services.

I drive across the bridge for a haircut at Lemon Tree Salon. Reasonable price, courteous, clean.

Wish I could give zero stars. I brought my 6 year old son for a haircut with Daniel and I am traumatized. My son gets a simple haircut every 3 months. We are not from New Paltz, but I figured it’s an easy cut we would try it out. I asked Daniel to just do the exact same haircut my son has, but shorter. Going to Lemon Tree was a huge regret! My son’s hair is a mess, it looks like he went to town on his own hair with scissors. To make things worse, I asked Daniel to leave his side burns (which he always has and made sense since I said I wanted the exact cut he had) then all the sudden Daniel shaved off my sons side burns, when I asked “why did you do that? ” Instead of apologizing, he said, my son was moving and he figured better my son’s sideburns than his ear!
No apology. STAY AWAY, and definitely don’t bring your kids there.

I have gone to Selina for years. I found the Lemon Tree a good clean welcoming environment, but I didn’t like when didn’t have scheduled appts. Now it does and you can even book on line, it’s great.

Went for a shampoo and cut. Very reasonably priced and the stylists and manager rock! Very personable and skilled

Victoria was wonderful! Sweet, polite and hilarious as a person and did a great job on my hair. I have curly hair and always dread going to the salon and she made it a pleasurable experience. I will definitely be back!

One of the employees here did his coworkers and boss a disservice when I visited recently. He wore his mask loosely, below his nose, declared that he will pay a fine rather than wear a face shield if NY State mandate it, and doesn't clean off the area after each customer. But besides that, he has no ability to cut or color hair any better than an untrained person. He also smells of stale cigarettes. He should be ashamed of himself taking money for the service he provides and Lemon Tree should be embarrassed to employ him.

Salon was clean, stylists were all friendly and very professional. I was with Cat, who was fantastic and did a wonderful job with my ethnic hair! Thank you.

Worst hair cut experience ever. No one should ever go here. Person smelled of cigarettes and had no skill at all in cutting hair.

The staff at Lemon Tree is always, friendly, kind and professional. They go above and beyond to make you look great when you walk out of the salon. Danny actually called my home when I accidentally dropped money at the salon as I was leaving. I had not noticed and Danny called me at home because he knew it was mine and wanted to return it. What honesty! Their services are excellent, but their honesty and concern will make me want to be their client forever. I will also speak highly of Lemon Tree to others and recommend them highly!

Have been to Lemontree in the past even though I don't live in New Paltz so I'm driving about 20 miles to go there. I made an appointment for Daniel at 10: 00am. I got there around 9: 50am. The only person there was Devet. I told her I had an appointment that I made online. She said "are you Michael"? I said yes and she said Daniel wasn't in yet and would be in at 10: 00am. It was 9: 58am. I waited another 15 minutes, no sign of Daniel, not a word from Devet. I put my coat on and left. Never any acknowledgement from Lemontree or apology for treating a regular customer so rudely and unprofessionally. I went somewhere else to have my hair cut and won't be back. Continue treating customers like this and you'll continue losing business.

I have gone through the make-an-appointment-only experience and at my last visit, the return to walk-in experience. Both instances were seamless with getting the appointment (even adjusting the appointment time) or simply walking-in and being serviced. Having come here multiple times in the past several years there are always different stylist of various trades (which come out in their styling of and interactions with clients) and their own "flares" that they bring to the clients salon visit.

I would never imagine going to another stylist but cat! She is incredibly talented and always knows exactly what to do with my hair to give it that extra wow factor. I went to her for a color recently and I’m absolutely in love with how my hair turned out. Not only does she do a great job with color but she’s quite honestly the only person I trust to cut my hair she always nows exactly how much to take off and what styles to do to leave my hair happy and healthy! I look forward to going back to her for any and every service I need for my hair and highly recommend you book an appointment with her especially for a color I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Horrible experiences three times already. I thought I'd give it a last chance after being disrespected by one of their hair stylists the first time around but now I'm left disappointed. I scheduled an appointment and was yelled at about the time (she made the error in how she scheduled but somehow it was my fault and she took it upon herself to yell at me) I didn't get the service I scheduled and was treated horribly by her as if cutting my hair was a favor she was doing. This is the second time this same stylist is rude when getting there. I tend to avoid confrontations so I didn't say much but figured it's worth mentioning to anyone who wants a haircut done by someone kind. The rest of the staff is always respectful but unfortunately she is always there and her mood and tone are always harsh. I won't be returning.

Staff was kind and followed all covid protocols, making it feel very safe. Went in for a basic trim, hairstylist listened to exactly what I wanted and it was only 19 dollars! Completely satisfied.

Love getting my hair done here! Always have an amazing experience and love how my hair looks and feels after going here. They use amazing products on my hair and I always love the highlights/ lowlights I get it always comes out perfectly and just the way I wanted my hair to look. Catharina always does an amazing job on my hair every time she does it! I would recommend this place to anyone

I’ve been using Lemon Tree for a few years now, growing out my hair so i just get basic trims and shaping, it’s a good fair price and i’ve been happy with most every stylist

I was grocery shopping next door today and figured I would pop my head in to see if there was an appointment available or if I could make one for tomorrow. I was wearing a mask I just popped my head in the door and was greeted with we're not open right now. It was 8: 55 the lights were on the door was unlocked I just popped my head in I stated I just have a quick question and the girls there were very unprofessional told me we're not open right now no one can be in here so I left. I've never seen these two girls there before they're not usually there when I go. Unfortunately I will not be going back to lemon tree in New Paltz. I have been a customer there for several years and have never been treated so poorly.

I'm a long time customer and usually get a nice greeting and How are you and what are we doing today. With Devet I had the same experience as Lin. While technically she is adequate, her people skills are lacking. The haircut is acceptable, but far below the usual great haircuts I had received in the past. I don't know if there have been management changes, but they seem to be not for the better. I'll try again next year.

Last three times I have been in this place, I had three different people cut my hair, and I walked out of the place with a crooked haircut. The people here just do not listen to you. I just told the woman three times I part my hair in the middle, so she parts it on the side and cuts it diagonally across the front. Then when I pointed out that's not how I want it cut, they get belligerent and argue with you. This place is terrible.

I took my kids here for school cuts and it was the day before school and so busy.the man that helped my boys was amazing he was so patient with them and did exactly what they wanted. The women that did my daughter was so sweet and took her time with her bc she doesn't like her hair cut. Have gone back a few times since. I waited about 2 hrs there only bc it was the day before school but usually there isn't a huge wait.

I recently went in for a trim. I usually go to a nicer salon in New Paltz, but didn't want to spend a lot of money on a simple trim. I waited 40 minutes (no big deal- it happens). When it was finally my turn, the hairdresser, Divet, brought me to the chair. When I asked if I could get my hair washed first, her response was "oh, you want me to wash it? " When she took my hair out of the bun I walked in with, she said "yikes, looks like you haven't gotten a trim in years. " After she washed my hair, she basically insulted how fine/thin my hair was and told me it looked like I was losing hair. To top it all off, after my five-minute hair cut she said "you don't need it dried, right? " Although I did in fact want it dried, I more so wanted to get out of there. I felt so insulted by Divet's rude comments and clear desire to rush me out; I ended up in tears because of how horrible the experience was. I know the Lemon Tree offers cheap haircuts, but the service is HORRIBLE. I certainly will not be returning.

I had a wonderful experience with my stylist here. I wasn’t too sure of the lingo with how I normally get my haircut and beard trim. Christina was patient, asked good questions about the look I was going for, and not only gave me an awesome haircut, gave me a card with specifics written down on how to ask for the same look next time! The haircuts are cheap, but the quality is inconsistent. I've had 3 haircuts there, with mixed results. The first was fine, and I really liked the second haircut I got, but I just got a third and it was the first time in my life that I have had people actually call attention to a bad haircut, which is kind of embarrassing.
Each person I have had cut my hair is so different from the last, and so it's difficult to comment on the quality of staff there. The first two stylists were kind and talkative, but the most recent stylist I had didn't say a word to me and sort of just rushed me out the door. Oh well!

My haircuts usually cost under $20, but I have gotten several haircuts here and the last two were extrememly disappointing because their work is very inconsistent. I left with an uneven haircut.
They also need to work on their customer service. The last time I was here, the staff did not even acknowledge me and I was sitting there waiting for 20 minutes. One of their staff members did not mind having a really loud and passionate conversation about how "we are raising a bunch of babies.this generation is full of babies.everyone is so sensitive. " It was nice that this staff was bonding with a customer, but this staff was being very unprofessional.
Another 10 minutes went by and I decided to leave.
