This was my first time buying out of state from Texas and wanted to go through the proper steps. I found Lemon Protector, scheduling was fast and easy. Jay immediately called me and called the seller to set up a time. When Jay called about the inspection he had a set of 20 extra pictures and we talked in depth about the car and how to go about negotiating. Basically Jay is great and went way above and beyond what I thought. Worth it!

This guy saved me $4500. Went over to the dealership and found out very quickly they were trying to sell me a junker. I know nothing about cars, so I wouldn't have been able to figure this out. Water in the engine and tons of other problems. Hiring this guy is absolutely worth it. Will hire him again when I want to look at a car!

Disorganized, lazy and only cares about your money.
He kept changing the times every time i called and pushing back the inspection date until the car was eventually sold right before he got there despite the fact that i kept telling him that it's not going to last. Every time i'd stress the urgency and the precautions i have to take to avid the above mentioned situation he'd become difficult and start pushing back and talking about his 24 hour cancellation policy. The seller be it a dealership or a private party don't care about what you have going on and what trouble you have to go though to protect yourself from a problem purchase, they just want to sell the car and they will sell it to anyone who pays first.
As a result i'm out for 200+ bucks with no car and no inspection that was supposed to be for the car that i was looking to buy,
and if the car was a dud i would've gladly excepted the defeat, at least it would've been of my own making.
I just wasted my time and money and got absolutely nothing for it.
I should've stopped at the first red flag and just figure something else. Absolute fail!

Update:
after getting a call in the morning from Jay and and talking things out for about 10 min, it seemed like there might be a possibility to square things out but I really don't know. The jury is still out and nothing is resolved so far.

Excellent critical eye, if you want the best get jay. He is a very detailed inspector. He has inspected several vehicles for me and saved me thousands of dollars from purchasing bad cars, Brutally honest in his assessment/inspection and pulls no punches, When you are pressed for time and need quick answers, he can provide clarity with the info he gives you and help you in your decision process. When I call him his turn around time is usually the next day if you call before noon. The dealers let me know that his presence was felt because he stayed in one case 2hrs going over the vehicle, that's what I'm talking about, He's my go to guy for sure.

Thanks to the services of the lemon protector, I was able to expedite the purchase of a vehicle I saw on the internet.
Admittedly I am a 19th Century pencil and paper guy, thinking I had to be present when they did the pre sale inspection.
I was informed they could go to the site and inspect without my having to do so, saving me MUCH back and forth time.
At the completion, they called me with a very descriptive summary AND sent photos to my cell phone. This timely information allowed me to make an informed decision, also having saved what I imagined would have been extra trips.

Highly recommend Jay at Lemon Protectors. I was looking to purchase a used TJ Wrangler and was a bit apprehensive due to some rust issues. I spoke to Jay and he drove from Long Island to north Jersey the next morning and did a full inspection of the vehicle. Turns out I dodged a bullet as the jeep was a complete lemon. Jays services are not cheap however it’s well worth it as I saved thousands by not buying a money pit Jeep. I will certainly be using lemon protectors in the future and I will tell my friend and family to do the same.

Highly recommended. I live in UK and wanted to buy a classic car for my son. Jay did the inspection exactly when he said he would and sent me over 50 photos which highlighted lots of minor issues. He then called me and outlined the condition of the car in detail. The decision is now mine whether to buy but Jay has given me more detail than I would have even if I had inspected the car myself. Definately well worthwhile.

Before you buy a used car, call Jay. Even more important than knowing what car to buy is being told what are not to buy. Jay spotted problems and advised me when to walk away and what was safe. He knows his stuff.

I used Lemon Protector services back in 2021. Since I was buying an older vehicle (from 2008) I knew I needed assistance from a reliable company. The reviews on here and the initial conversation convinced me to go with Jay. He drove out to Long Island to inspect the car I had my eye on. He was very thorough took his time, and gave me honest feedback. 2 years later I still have my car it's in good working condition. The guidance/suggestions he made on what to expect with an older vehicle were spot on. At the time of the inspection he noticed the battery would have to be replaced and gave an estimated date and he was just off by one month. This catch of his also helped me negotiate a lower price.

One thing I would hope prospective clients consider is that the fee listed on the site is a starting fee, which he states, make sure to ask about the cost about checking more than one vehicle in the same lot and just be prepared, do your research know the make/model of the car your hope to purchase and arrive with questions. The fee was fair.
