I loved Le Bernadin. I'm a vegetarian and tried the 4 course prix fixed. The artichoke appetizer was refreshing and had so much flavor. The mushroom pasta dish was so delicious. And the hazelnut dessert and corn ice cream was also just wonderful wonderful

Thoroughly unimpressed. I left this place thinking - how does it have three Michelin stars? The service - cold, stuffy. The atmosphere - very old school, snobby. The food - good.but not “blow your socks off” good like you’d expect at a place with three stars. Overpriced - pretentious - and not at all worthy of three Michelin stars.

From the very start, the wait staff were uptight, cold, and unfriendly. The food was honestly subpar. I’ve been to many other restaurants that don’t have stars or that have 1-2 stars and the food was so much better.

I really hoped for a more incredible experience. We subsequently went to Jean-georges and had a much more incredible experience - better food, service, ambiance.

If you’re visiting New York looking for an exceptional experience - don’t waste your money here. Incredibly, and sadly, overhyped.

There’s a reason why michelin restaurants are michelin restaurants.from the moment I walked in I felt like I was transported to another world. The walls and decor weren’t anything special but the atmosphere and the people made you feel that way.

I did the tasting menu alone and although it was a lot of food, it was just enough for me. Every dish was perfection. From taste to the service, I highly recommend this be on the top of everyone’s bucket list. I feel so lucky and grateful to have experienced Le Bernadin.

As a seafood connoisseur, I seriously never had seafood that good. The cod was so perfect in terms of texture and seasoning. The lobster. Be warned— Le Bernadin will destroy the way you ever have seafood ever again.

I hope to be back again someday soon but have some others on my list I need to try first!

I was able to snag a 5: 30pm dinner reservation. Even as I write this review, I still think about just how great the food was.

First off, they do emphasize a dress code. Jackets are not required; however, the don’t allow athletic wear or short sleeves. It was mentioned 3 times in my confirmation text haha.

We chose the prix fixe course which came with 4 courses for $198 per person. It ended up being more than 4 courses, but I think the little amuse bouches and dessert things didn’t count.

There’s a bread basket that circulates often. Very often. They asked us if we wanted bread throughout the entire meal which I really appreciated. They don’t skimp on this part haha. The focaccia was so delish!

The first thing we were served was a 3 piece amuse bouche. I can’t remember exactly what all 3 were, but the last item that had the potato foam with crab and lobster, one of my favorite items of the night. It was SO FLAVORFUL. It was like an smooth airy mashed potatoes with lobster. I could eat an entire bowl of that.

For my prix fixe, I ordered the Oysters, Lobster, Filet Mignon, and Carrot Cake. The oysters were great and fresh. It came with a delicious mignonette. The lobster. Oh wow the lobster. It came in a Thai Lemongrass Curry Bouillon. My favorite dish of the night. The bouillon was soooo flavorful. I loved it. The filet mignon was cooked so perfectly. It was so tender that I could cut it with my fork. It came with some sort of mushroom mixture wrapped in swiss chard. SOO GOOD!

I was able to taste some other dishes that my brother and sister ordered off the prix fixe menu. We kind of swapped halfway thru just so we could taste it. I’m sure that wasn’t great etiquette in this type of restaurant, but oh well haha.

After the dessert course came, there was one more dish which was a trio of tiny one bite desserts. I was sooo stuffed by then that I could barely finish it.

I did add that we were celebrating a birthday on my reservation, so they were so kind enough to bring an additional dessert with a candle in it for my sister.

All in all, Le Bernadin exceeded my expectations. The service was so friendly and did not make me feel like I was out of place. The food was just so very good. I would definitely come back and dine again.

Restaurant that is really worth the detour, contemporary and refined cuisine, dishes presented with great originality. Seafood and fish are really cooked to perfection. The staff is very competent and multilingual, which is very pleasant and brings a touch of personalization. However, the atmosphere is very different from that of establishments of this level in France, for example, because the noise level is very high, where in other countries you almost have to whisper, here you have to speak rather loudly to make yourself hear!

The chef's tasting menu is always a good idea with places like these. Loved loved loved the food, the ambience, and even got to say hi to the chef as he was walking out to greet guests. Thank you for the wonderful NYC dining experience

Welcomed with a smoked salmon spread and croutons and then the bread and butter arrived. The wide selection of fresh, housemade artisanal bread, accompanied by housemade butter left us very satisfied. At the same time, the service was impeccable throughout our visit, as it should.

Managed to score a lunch reservation here! The portions were so much larger than I expected. It was so good, they took care of your every need. I absolutely loved it!

My partner and I were very excited to try this place because of the consistently good press and reviews. My partner got the chef’s tasting menu while I got the vegetarian menu. My partner was drooling after every course extremely satisfied while I was left wonder whether there would be more.

For the price and for vegetarians, not extremely flavorful. The only noteworthy dish was risotto over artichoke. Not sure if vegetables just don’t grow well around NYC, but even the flavors of the vegetables didn’t shine during the least dressed courses.

Absolute perfection! Had lunch on the way out of town. Dressed for the occasion, which is a rare requirement these days. We did the three course, each exceeding the prior. I failed to share my Raw with my family, but we tasted each other's other courses for the full experience. The Harimasa is a 'Do Not Miss' as is the Pear dessert. Although, you can't go wrong. I sat out drinks after a party the previous night, but I can't imagine there would have been a bad selection. Even the butter on the table was above. Choose the foccacia at the bread selection if you're an olive lover.

Enjoyed the 8 course tasting at lunch and it was without question the finest meal we've ever had. From the opening thinly pounded yellowfin tuna over fois gras/baguette to the shrimp, the lobster, the halibut, the rhubarb and the dessert, every course was perfectly prepared, perfectly seasoned, perfectly presented and was simply sublime. The staff was exceptional, the room and ambience were fantastic and the wine was delicious. Can't wait to mortgage my home and eat there again; and it will be worth it.

Exquisite food with wonderful attention to detail. Our server, Julian, was attentive and kind. Each course was better than the last. Highly recommend coming by if you are able to get a reservation!

For our first plate we ordered the lobster and the languistine. The lobster was buttery tender, perfectly cooked and accompanied by a lobster jus. The fillet and the surf and turf arrived for our mains.

I like a few dishes better than the others. But everything is supreme. I do believe they put good thoughts into wine paring. Will definitely do it next time.

A slight disappointment I have is that we didn’t see anything special for my wife’s birthday. Not asking for something substantial. Just a message will do. I’m booking through amex concierge though. So not sure whether it is correctly communicated to the restaurant.

Made reservation for 9pm. Table wasn't ready till 930. So they let us wait at lounge and offered free drinks and canapé for the wait. We each got the 4course prefix. They told us they ran out of Dover sole and hiramasa and scallop, which were the dishes we planned on getting. Upon hearing that, they were able to get us Dover sole. So I would say the service they provided was superb. Food wise. My fav were the complimentary starter. Trio of tartar. Seaurchin with jelly. And cauliflower soup. Also Langston and tuna. We got black forest for dessert, but would wish it was coconut and apple since cherry wasn't my fav. Overall. It was a good experience. Food and service were better than per se in my opinion.

Excellent food! We did the 4 course pre fixe menu and there were many options to choose from. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. I would love to go back and try the 8 course tasting menu. I highly recommend!

I was terribly frustrated with the directeur de salle, Dzelalija. His actions placed a dark cloud over almost the whole meal and were a terrible reflection of Chef Ripert's excellence. At only our 2nd of 8 courses his upper staff approached both men of the table and stated that we better eat quickly to be gone by 8: 30pm. From there, all 5 people were meant to feel rushed by the many of the staff with pointing fingers, looks and rushing actions. It was terribly disappointing of such fine food and dining. Dzelalija managed to nearly ruin our entire night.
I would however like to give a tremendous thank you to Chef Ripert, the kitchen staff and the lower level floor staff. The food and attention to detail was magical. It was certainly worthy of creating happiness just as intended if not for Dzelalija. I wish I could have given them 10 stars as hoped.
To Dzelalija: you or your company are welcome to contact me to try and right your mistakes and I'd be happy to revaluate my review. We leave Sunday. I hope you do.

On Friday night, my husband and I had dinner at what is now the 44th best restaurant in the world, Le Bernardin. That says a lot when considering that there are tens of millions of restaurants worldwide. It is also a 3 Michelin Star establishment. I have been wanting to eat there for years and it finally happened.

From the moment we arrived, until the moment we left, the service was nothing short of spectacular. The host sat us at our table for two and pulled the table out so we could get settled comfortably. Water was brought to us within one minute and the drink menu was delivered. From that moment on, we wanted for nothing for the next two hours.

Alex and I ordered the four-course menu, but it ended up being much more than that. Right after we ordered, we were each brought an amuse-bouche to start with. (The cauliflower soup that we were given as a tasting was incredible!) The dishes kept coming at just the right pace. Beautiful plate after beautiful plate was delivered to us by our own dedicated waiters. Each dish was explained to us in detail. The Sommelier helped us to pick out the perfect wine to go with our main course. The service, presentation and the bursts of flavors made this the best dining experience I have had to date. At the end of the meal, we ordered a coffee and a hot tea. Along with that, we were given a final bonus of four small desserts. (That matcha macaroon was the best one I’ve ever had!)
If you find yourself wanting an unforgettable dining experience, check out Le Bernardin. It did not disappoint and has been a highlight of 2021 for me.

1st ask for Julian very informative about what each plate has to offer if you like to feel on the top of the world visit this place and get amaze by their flavors I would suggest you to try the smoked salmon croque!

One of the best meals of my life. This restaurant is for seafood lovers looking for a top class dining experience. Every dish was exquisite, staff were incredibly gracious, and dessert was a delight.

I really like pesto Italian craft kitchen, everything there is fresh and they have a low carb pizza option out of cauliflower crust I must try. I created my own pizza with this order and the pizza was very tasty, it was fresh and non greasy like a typical pizza joint. So I will definitely be coming back in the future!

La Bernardin used to be my go-to for a glass of wine at the bar, but recently the service has been sub-par. Very cold and impersonal. The seafood dishes are what keeps me coming back at this point. Their dishes have taken on a predominantly Asian flare which is a change from their French heritage, but it’s refreshing and balanced.

Had the chefs tasting menu here. The food is good but nothing wow (except maybe the apple dessert at the end which looked spectacular). Service is great here though.

If you’re looking to eat at a 3 Michelin star restaurant, I recommend going to Per Se instead. Their food is top notch!

We had a wonderful experience at Le Bernardin! We ordered the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing and really cannot put into words how amazing everything was. The food was so flavorful and the wine paired beautifully with each dish. Often times with gourmet restaurants, you can leave still feeling hungry due to the small portion sizes but we were so stuffed from all the food. We were pretty full by the 6th course and didn't know how we managed to eat it all! Overall, the entire meal took about 3 hours. Additionally, the wait staff was so attentive to our every needs and did a great job explaining each dish as it came out.

Le Bernardin is one of the most handsome restaurants I’ve been to in Manhattan, with impeccable service and food. Their Michelin stars are well deserved.

Be prepared to wait three months for a reservation.

I was not impressed. It's not as expensive as people claimed it would be.price isn't an issue. But flavor and quality has this place at the very bottom of my list. Not worth your time.
