Met with David to deal with a child custody suit which involved the mother relocating our child across the country without my knowledge or consent. David was very helpful from the beginning, answering many of questions from the consultation on. He informed me of my rights and what courses of action could be taken to have my child returned back to the state. My husband and I moved across the country in 2016, and he continued paying (an absurd amount) of child support to his ex wife back in New York City. We determined that he could not go on representing himself; he would be going in at a disadvantage to his ex wife who always had legal counsel. I had no idea how hard it would be to retain a reasonably priced lawyer from across the country who was willing to work hard for my husband, understand that he could not be there in person, and who would be sympathetic to the hardships we were already facing. After calling over a dozen law offices, we had just about given up hope. But then we found David Bliven.

After a consultation with David on a Thursday, we retained him on a Monday evening, and by Wednesday morning he was at the courthouse ready to get started. It was expected that he would motion to delay the case so that he would have time to get familiar with the facts, but David wasted no one’s time and jumped right into action. With each court appearance, he made sure he had all documents needed, always came prepared and he always made it very clear which issues would be worth the effort to challenge and which would not be worth the time. David’s knowledge and acumen often made the other legal counsel look like a novice, yet he always conducted himself in a very professional manner. The pricing of his services were clear and quite reasonable, plus the paralegals in his office are also very kind and helpful.

In the end, David was able to negotiate a settlement that was fair to all parties, which is precisely what my husband wanted from the beginning. While David was helpful in resolving this matter, it will likely take some time to iron out the rest of the mess caused by my husband’s first attorney. However, when we are ready to tackle these issues in the future, we know that we can always count on David! He truly is a blessing!

I have short experience having David as my lawyer. Before I hired Mr. Bliven my case was handled by not friendly referee, and court appointed lawyer, that care less about the case, and on the top of it hostile opposing council. For me it was, I would say emergency situation after court appointed council failed my case. Luckily I could take out loan and hire David. From first meeting with referee, he put everything in order. He took my divorce case in the middle of negotiation, day or two before we supposed to have meeting with referee to sign agreement, then happened that from referee we went right to the judge, and things changed for the better. So, with his help I got out of unfavorable agreement, that could potentially jeopardize shared custody of two children. He was able to negotiate solid 50/50 custody. Very strong point with Mr. Bliven is transparency. I’ve been cc’d all communication with all parties involved. I believe he is the great expert in what he doing. Also he is strait forward about his fee. It’s not cheap, at least for me, but not overpriced.

Mr. Bliven is very knowledgeable and has many years of experience which makes him a valuable asset in your arsenal. I would hire him for any other Family court matters.
