After I got a ticket for accidentally passing a stopped school bus in Guilderland, my friend referred me to a ticket lawyer in Syracuse, who then referred me to his friend John in Albany. I knew I was in trouble when I was an out of stater pulled over in New York for going 23 over the speed limit, and the ticket didn’t even tell me the fine until I pled guilty. Turns out, my fine would have been $700 ($300 for the ticket, $100 “convenience fee”, and $100 yearly for 3 years because the violation was 6 points on my license).
