After having an exceptional experience with this service center seven years ago, I felt compelled to finally express my gratitude in writing. Returning for service recently, I was once again met with outstanding professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy that truly sets this team apart. Their attention to detail, transparent communication, and dedication to customer satisfaction have only solidified my trust and appreciation. It's rare to find such a consistent level of service over the years, and I am thoroughly impressed. Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace of mind with their service needs. Five stars well-deserved, now and always.

The parts cost $700 and the labor at $125 / hour for 5.3 hours and the AAA 10% discount put me at $1,379.50. I have $950 in savings for emergencies. Danny was unwilling to negotiate with me. I had to pay the diagnostic fee of 2.7 hours $367; and get my vehicle towed to my house UNFIXED. The diagnostic fee alone cost me a whole week’s pay-check. The AAA discount was not enough to help me get the car fixed. I do NOT recommend this auto repair shop. I could not afford their labor price.
Lesson learned: if you don’t have an existing relationship w/ a mechanic in Staten Island, do not take your car to their business - they will charge you out your nose.

Went for my first time last week for A/C issues and the customer service was exceptional. Danny explained everything to me and made sure I was aware of any other problems. I will definitely be back for any other future work I need done.

Good shop for honest diagnostics and repair. They actually fix the problems with your vehicle, no frills auto repair. You want a solid team to give you the best repairs.it's these guys.

I reported Danny to the DMV complaint department about unsuspected charges which I brought to Danny's attention, his response was defensive, shady saying to me that he's unknowledgable about my car in order to properly service my vehicle, didn't mention that before I dropped off my vehicle, Danny got caught in his lies from the Inspector of the DMV and found multiple inaccuracies in the bill in other words double dipping, after going through the bill and itemizing each item that's when the Inspector realized Danny wrongfully overcharged me by $955.57 which I got refunded back through the DMV Inspector handed me the refund check, thank you Department Of Motor Vehicle for helping me settle with this issue, thank you Inspector Castellano!

Been going to Island Car Care for over 10 years. I consider them the best. Danny is up front in telling you needs to be done. Pete explains and shows be exactly what he is doing. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I went back to Island Car Care for an oil change and possible tuneup. Danny discovered I had a leak in the water pump and that my front break pads were worn down to nothing. Two safety issues! I'm glad I took my car here because elsewhere they may not have even discovered those issues. Well worth the cost! Safety first

My starter went and I had it replaced along with some wires that were destroyed. Not long ago, I had some sensor issues and they repaired that also. What I liked most was that Danny showed me exactly what was going on in my car and explained in detail. I had also bought new car mats and didn't know how to cut and fit them in my car. I went to Island Car Care and the customized them for me free of charge. So appreciated.

Was in an urgent situation and they were excellent at getting the job done within 24 hours.

I like going there very nice customer service. I went there early in the morning and took me right away. The owner is honest and really nice. I recommend this business to my daughter and friends.

They performed a NYS inspection to my car, and they did it fast and professionally. Excellent service!

I been going here for a few years now and always leave feelin relieved my car is in good hands. Danny will always let you know what's goin on with your car, makes recommendations, EXPLAINS why and will give you an estimate that's not far from the final total. And their turnaround time is fast. No tricks, no games. Highly rec!

Best place if you own a jag on SI. People here know their cars and work efficiently with no BS. Cannot recommend any more highly. Prices are very reasonable too.

They did a more than excellent job. Danny the owner is very very pleasant with a welcoming attitude. He makes you feel right at home. I will be taking my van there from now on. I’m more than satisfied. I feel really blessed to have found them. When I find a great auto mechanic, I stick with them. If you try them I’m certain you’ll like them!

I’ve used Island Car Care for quite a few years for various issues, upkeeping an older car. They are fabulous!

Island car care truly cares about their customers and I can't thank them enough for helping me, as someone not from NY 2,000 miles from home I had no idea where to take my car for repairs but as soon as I spoke to Danny on the phone I knew I could trust him. If you are looking for an honest, quick, and reliable shop to take your car this is the place for you!

Low rating for excessive pricing for unnecessary work. I brought my car to Island Care Care to be diagnosed as I suspected a transmission issue. The mechanic (who was very pleasant) test drove the vehicle and ran the codes in my car and found a P1738 (2nd pressure switch failure). He explained it clearly to me and I found working with him to be pleasant. However, my experience soured when I asked Danny for a quote to repair this pressure switch. Instead of quoting me for this repair, he quoted me $2795 to rebuild the entire transmission, which was absolutely not needed! My transmission was rebuilt in 2018 and still in good working order (besides the pressure switch issue). I asked Danny again whether the pressure switch issue could be addressed without a transmission rebuild and he said "no. " That didn't sound right so I decided to bring the car into another shop. The other shop replaced all of my pressure switches for a total of $140 (parts and labor combined), and also confirmed there were no other transmission-related issues. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to Island Car Care.

Review updated in response to owner:

1) I did not bring a Nissan to the shop.
2) My car does not have a CVT transmission.
3) My automatic transmission (though rebuilt) did not have "a deeper issue" that required a rebuild or a replacement. The part that needed replacing was addressed. That is all that was needed.

I am always welcomed will a smile. Before any work is done, I am always showed the problem and what it is going to take fix it. Very professional and high quality work. I don’t let anyone else work my car but them.

Great customer service! I have a 2010 Mercedes benz and have been looking for a suitable mechanic. It has been difficult but I finally found my place. Island car care was able to fix the problem in a reasonable amount of time and at a great price. None of that luxury car price gouging I’ve experienced at other places on the island. The best part is the warranty on parts and labor. I will be back!
