My Rav4 had serious trouble with the rack and pinion. Hughes fixed the problem and also gave a great wheel alignment. My second time here and the first with a major issue. Have taken my car to them for NYS inspection past two years. Did my brakes last year. Nothing needed this year. I love that the place is professional, they don't upsell and are honest. Thats so hard to find. I have no plans on going anywhere else.

I started taking my car to Hughes last year due to their great reviews, and I haven't been disappointed. The front staff and the mechanics are friendly and take the time explaining things. My impression is that they were very honest. At inspection time they've pointed out things I should be aware of, but they never push it and try to get extra work. As someone who doesn't know about cars (and is a female), I always am a bit skeptic, not wanting to get taken advantage of. Initially when they recommended a repair, I called my dad who is well-versed in this area (he used to do all maintenance and repairs, big and small, on our cars). He concurred with their evaluation. Knowing I was conscious of price, they quoted me for 1) this is serious and should be addressed ASAP, as well as 2) this is something that would be good to deal with, but isn't imperative so keep an eye on it. I'd 100% recommend them to anyone who's worried about being hoodwinked - you'll be in good hands.

Customer service very rude. Took 2.5 days to replace water pump. Why? Because they had to take care of others that came after me. Overcharged and very rude. Second time shame on me. Last time. Would never recommend them to my worst enemy. Stay clear of them.

Highly recommend Hugh’s. I recently moved to the area and needed to have an inspection done. In the past it always felt like a burden with other repair shops to have my vehicle inspected. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Called at 8: 30am on a Monday morning and inspection was done by 9: 30am. They were friendly, offered coffee, and were efficient. I’ll certainly be back!

Best Yonkers local Mechanic around. Kevin is a true gentleman honest integrity straightforward. Doesn’t look to screw his customers. Caught a flat tire and a disabled Axle on a Sunday. Called Hughes Motors Auto Repair and Kevin picked up and advised to drop off vehicle at his shop and would jump on it first thing on Monday. Utmost respect for Kevin and his mechanic staff. Hughes Motors Auto Repair was a lifesaver. Driving home to MD from CT, our car had two indicator lights go on. We limped to one auto shop who didn't look at the vehicle at all and told us it would be at least a full day before they could. We then really limped to Hughes and were stunned by the difference. Kind, courteous staff (even offering a free snack to our young son while we waited). The problem was diagnosed and fixed promptly and at a reasonable price. Kevin even gave us his cell phone number to call in case we had additional problems. Then, he called me to follow up the next day. I can't recommend this place enough and if I lived in the vicinity, I would only go to Hughes Motors Auto Repair. Truly good people and a great business.

They fixed the problem that no one else could fix. Took my car to dealer, they over charged me for basically experimenting on my car. 3 other shops as well, and they were lost. Hughes repaired my vehicle, and I was treated with courtesy, and professionalism. Very positive experience, I highly recommend Hughes motors.

They took my vehicle in without hesitation when we had engine issues trying to head home on a long trip, also after the fact the Ford Dealership literally a mile down the road turned us away and said it would be 5 months waiting time. This facility has the nicest, most knowledgeable workers and I highly recommend them for their work and customer service. I would rate them higher than 5 stars if I could do so. Friendly, professional staff & it only took 15mins to do my car inspection. They also do my oil changes in 1 hr or less. Kevin is usually who helps me.

I got my 2000 RAV4 inspected at the dealership. They had a laundry list of things that they said should be done (including the replacement of 3 gaskets and a strut) that would have cost me a fortune. So I made my first visit to Hughes Motors. I found them through Repair Pal (a website that was recommended by Consumer Reports when looking for a good repair shop.) Hughes Motors did not disappoint. They diagnosed the real problem and replaced one gasket (the valve cover gasket). Two sway bars were replaced instead of the strut and they changed the oil, oil filter, spark plugs, ignition wire set, and PCV Valve. These guys are great.they let you know up front what is wrong, how to fix it, and what it'll cost. No pressure just service. They are busy (always a good sign) but do their best to get you in and out as quickly as possible. I spent about $560.on the repairs (not even half what Toyota was going to charge me). I highly recommend them. (BTW: the Pizza Barn next door has great slices)

I keep moving further away from this place but it’s the only place I’ll bring my car for inspection and repair. Absolutely the best customer service! It’s worth mentioning that as a woman who knows nothing about cars, I feel like I am in good hands knowing that I’m not going to get the run around and encounter any surprises. Kevin and his staff are pleasant and honest. If I could give more stars, I would.

If you're looking to avoid the sketchy mechanic and get quality work done at the price you'd expect, this is your spot. All of the folks here like Kevin, Eric, and the others made it STRESS FREE. They have my business for the remainder of my time in New York! Would give 10 stars.

I am giving this business one star for each service provided.
1. Professionalism: They informed me of everything that might be causing the misfire and they provided me with an estimated time they would figure out the problem.
2. Courtesy: I had left my cellphone at home, and because I got there late (5pm), I thought they wouldn’t see me, but Kevin said it’s ok and they saw me and decided to help me.
3. Consideration: they told me they needed more time to diagnose the issue, so I would have to leave it. Since I didn’t have my cellphone with me, I couldn’t get a cab back home, Kevin ordered me a Lyft, and refused to take payment, because I was a bit low on cash.
4. Service: when I got there I was offered everything (from cappuccino, regular coffee, water, tea, etc…) to feel comfortable and had me in a waiting area where I was comfy to wait for the cab that Kevin ordered for me.
5. Quality: the very next day at noon, they called me and informed me of the issue and told me everything that needed fixing or replacing. I gave the green light, and the car was ready at no time.
6. Affordability: If there was a six star I would also give them that as well, the price is fair. I am pretty sure some places would charge more and not have the same detail to quality previously mentioned and I am pretty sure there are places that are cheaper, but don’t have the guarantee quality, experience, and customer service this place has. Overall, if you take into account everything, it’s definitely worth the money two times over.

Last thing I want to mention is, I walked in there with one issue, and they fixed two issues. They saved me the trouble time and money with the second fix which was the emission test and it’s a flat fee across New York State, because of that I was able to register my vehicle two days before my registration expired and for that I will forever be great full.

I can go on and on about the high quality of service overall Hughes mechanic has. Lastly, when you first get there, you will see like 20 cars in line to get serviced here, there is a reason why they have such a high cliental, other than the car manufacturers, I believe Hughes are the best mechanics across nyc/Westchester county. Thank you Kevin, Eric, and Christina for the great service they provided me. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I have been coming here to get work done on my car for over 5 years now and have always found the service to be excellent. All of the staff are always helpful and professional. They are always very upfront and thorough with explaining all of the tests and work being done on your car. Best of all they are always reasonable with pricing and look out for their costumers.

Not the most impressive outside but 100% Professional & Efficient on the inside. It's refreshing to talk to someone on the phone who is sincere these days. Was nervous to take my Cayenne there - but fed up with dealership BS and other fancy places. Discovered 3 Euro car techs work at Hughs - did an amazing job, fast, efficient and economical - great stuff, very happy.

I called about noon and asked to be seen for an inspection. I spoke with Eric who accommodated my request for same day service. I was informed my inspection could take up to an hour. Upon arrival everyone was polite and I was seen right away (even though) you could see they were working on other cars as well. The waiting area was clean, well ventilated, and empty. I was provided a complementary bottle of cold water. My car was done in 10 minutes and the price was much lower than I imagined. Excellent service. I am definitely going back.

I came here a couple of times already and each time the service was top notch! They even offered to check out the car and diagnose the problem, free of charge. Reasonable prices too. An Honest, reliable mechanic is tough to come by. A true gem. This is a shop you can trust.

This place is the opposite of every cliche, sterotypical car mechanic - honest, professional, and efficient. I had an Audi for over 10 years and got about 250,000 miles on it thanks to Kevin and his team. They would even drive me to work (in the Bx) on the days I had to leave my car for service. Highly recommended.

I came here from a suggestion from CarMax max care to have my car serviced. The customer service was amazing. Eric attended me he was very detailed on letting me know what was happening with my car and giving me updates so you’re aren’t just sitting there wondering what’s happening. There’s a waiting room with a tv and they also offer you free water and coffee. Everyone was very nice and professional. Definitely recommend!

Had a great experience at the Hughes Motors shop today. I spoke with Kevin, who is a down to Earth person and listened attentively to my concerns. He took notes then paired me with a shop mechanic who specializes in finding and resolving the issues.

I was given solutions and recommendations, with price and time estimates in a no pressure environment. When the work was done, the prices and time completed came close to the estimates I was given and my car felt brand new. Thank you guys!

Finding a trusted mechanic is a difficult task in itself. They are polite, trustworthy, and take their time in looking at your car. When I had a suspension problem, the mechanic drove around to find the issue and then took it back to the shop to show me the problem. The owner even saw me walking halfway home and offered me a ride. Oil change is quick.

If you're looking for a good mechanic, you found one. I usually speak with Kevin and he has been upfront and professional. He listened and addressed my concerns. They are willing to take the time to diagnose the issues and properly fix them. Kevin was also good and communicating that they value my time and are working to get the car up and running as soon as possible (huge plus). The team understands that a customer's time is precious and not to be wasted. No need to yell or get upset to communicate the urgency of the matter because it is understood from the beginning. This shop can get busy sometimes and it is for good reason (they do good work).
Repeat customer here (not for the same issues - that would be unfortunate). Worth it!
