Didn’t know this place even existed and wanted to get a haircut last minute and book online. I found them with the online booking option and was able to get an appointment over the weekend. Was clean, bright but mellow mood and everyone was very friendly. Got a nice haircut too, exactly what I wanted.

Katelynn was absolutely amazing! We talked beforehand to make sure we agreed upon on what we were doing. And she did just exactly that! The price was perfect for the service I was getting, and she had such a calming presence. Definitely will continue going to her forever!

Here is my honest review, I would like to begin with the good. The establishment was beautiful inside and the cleanliness was very well kept. Now onto my experience and why I can not ethically or morally recommend this salon.

1.) Atmosphere: As soon as I walked into the salon I had a feeling that I was not welcomed. Maybe it was the lack of greeting from the staff, the stare of discontent on the stylist’s face while describing the services I was inquiring about, or a mixture of several things. The atmosphere was less than inviting.

2.) Prejudice: The stylist that I spoke with, seemed to have underlying prejudice from the moment I walked in the door (a look of discuss when speaking with me, using terms like “your kind of hair”, hesitancy to book me, and cutting me off while describing services and my hair needs…. Just to mention a few) There were many red flags that I ignored trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. After describing that I only wanted maybe 10 braids, straight back she gave me a price of $50. I asked what I needed to do to prep for my appointment to make the process as easy as possible. The stylist stated she would wash, stretch and braid the hair. She told me to expect to be there for an hour or 2. After we agreed on the service and the price I booked my appointment despite my better judgement and listening to my gut. The day of my appointment I revived a message at 11: 20am (my appointment at 5pm) stating she would be upping the price to $80. After receiving the text I gave her a call to ask questions. She refused to answer my basic questions directly, her tone was not friendly and some would say rude, she blamed me for the inconvenience of this occurring close to our appointment. Shocked by the unfolding of events and how I was poorly treated I told her I needed a minute to process and I’d let her know. She stated that I needed to hurry as she blocked out that time for me and it was already noon. I told her that was fine and I would let her know asap. As we ended the call I was notified my appointment was canceled.

Upon receiving that notice I messaged her explaining I was not ready to cancel, that I was not happy with the was I was treated and how no one deserves to feel the way she made me feel. Her response included, that is was unfortunate but she doesn’t hold appointments, that her services are all priced out at a specific amount and the $50 we agreed on was too low so she decided to change it on a whim and charge more, and that she wasn’t being rude, that’s not her. She ended a vulnerable conversation with “have a great day babe sorry it didn’t work with us. ”

3.) Pricing Changes The Day Of The Appointment: My stylist and I agreed on a price ($50) for service. The same day as my appointment I was told that that was no longer going to be the price. It was going to be $80. Being shocked I said I need to think about it and discuss some things, she said that was fine just to let her know asap because that spot is blocked off in her schedule. As my finger could hit the end button to end the call I got a notification that my appointment was canceled.

4.) 1/10 Customer Service

After all the reasons listed above this is why I can not morally and ethically support this business. We live in a time with so much hate in the world and we should spend our hard earned money in businesses that betters this community, not one who tears down the community and specific demographics. Rochester we are better than this and I hope after reading this you don’t stand for businesses and/or individuals who foster prejudice, hateful, disrespectful, and unethical behavior and practices. Know where your money is going!

Kristy does my hair she’s amazing, very friendly and so nice to talk to. She is very knowledgeable and knows exactly what she’s doing, she explains what she’ll do with my hair bc i want a hair color (foilayage) to be exact. The time that she took with the talent that she have to make my hair so beautiful was exceptional! Her Salon are clean and has good ambiance too. Thank you Kristy you’re the best!

Do not go here. My daughters hair was cut uneven on the sides and the color was not blended the same. She has big blotchy striped hair and it was different on each side. She paid $200 for her hair to be a hot mess and I took her to someone to fix the mess they made and paid another $100. We reached out by calling and email both and got no response from the hairdresser. When talking to the owner of the salon she said the chairs are rented out and she does not get any of the money paid so she can’t help us and we would have to talk to the girl who did her hair. I asked for her to have her call us and no one ever called.

Kristy did highlights and a toner on my hair and it tuned out so pretty. She is so sweet and nice to talk to. She will be my new go to hair stylist for sure. It’s so hard to find good ones lately.

I have been working with Tina for over fifteen years. She's taken care of my entire family, she's done weddings for me, and she's gone to clients homes for me. She works great with our senior population, she's got a kind heart and a gentle touch. My hair is very thick, curly and can not be cut by just anyone, I've tried that. Tina has helped me take excellent care of my hair. Her prices for both in home and at her place of business are reasonable and she is flexible with scheduling! Highly, highly recommend her as a stylist or for someone that you love who may not be able to get to the salon or into the chairs.

Any hesitation, DON'T! I went to Desiray, and so SO happy that I did. I came in, expecting to get not so good results, as it happened the last time I asked for pastel pink. Desiray sat me down, asked what I wanted to do and told her, she was warm, made me feel at home, and I knew she was able to do what I wanted. We go to talking and had SO much in common! She was AMAZING, and knew SO MUCH about color and style in depth. It put me at ease knowing she was good at what she does. And my style and cut? I walked out feeling like a million bucks! The color, the cut - EVERYTHING. My hair didn't FRY out with the bleach like others have done before. She now has a CLIENT FOR LIFE, and SO HAPPY I found her. I'm so EXCITED to go back for my next color - and CONFIDENT in her ability to be creative. THANK YOU DESIRAY! Everyone LOVES my hair, but not more than ME!

Alyssa Violante is awesome! She did a great job on my daughters hair! We have gone to other places and my daughter was disappointed because her hair was not what she wanted. Alyssa nailed it! She LOVES it! So if u need your hair cut & highlighted Alyssa is your girl! My hair also came out great! Love her!

Great experience as always! Maria has been doing my hair for years, she does such a wonderful job. I love this place and will never go anywhere else.

I don't even know where to start. My first experience was great. I came in on Friday March 19 and Brianna Strong cut my hair. She did a great job and took her time. We discussed coloring it so we conversated over text about coming in and I scheduled an appointment with her the following Tuesday. She told me 85$ and about 2 hrs for what I showed her over text. It ended up taking 4 hours and costing 100$. She bleached almost my whole head which I was not expecting. As she was applying the bleach she was reassuring me she was only doing a few spots for pops of color. She put color directly over the bleach which I've never heard of. The color didn't take and she had to dry my hair and color again. My hair looks nothing like the picture I showed her and I'm extremely disappointed. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a salon. On top of that she missed spots and there's blond spots throughout my hair. Do yourself a favor and do your research before letting just anyone color your hair.

Not only did the stylist overcharge me from what she stated, it also took longer than the 2 hours, as originally stated. I asked for a certain color, that I did not get. She also put the color dye on the bleach without rinsing the bleach first. And was still charged for a color and style I didn't ask for. Absolutely terrible service.

This is by far the nicest salon I've ever set foot in! I've been coloring my hair for over 15 years now and this is the first time I ever felt confident in my stylist. Wonderful place, looking forward to my next appointment with Kristy!
