Went to Gerber Collision on Main Street in Clarence to have my dented in bumper fixes in my Buick Encore. They quoted me $2,700 and could be as high as $ 3,400 and would take three days. Well the had my car almost 14 days. After having it over a week, they called me and said z, it’s going to cost $1,300 dollars more and is it ok to continue with the work, really, could I say no when they had the whole think torn apart? I think I had no option to say yes. So even though high end of quote was $ 3,400 I ended paying $4,600. I truly feel I was ripped off, Please stay away from all locations of Gerber Collision and Glass!
AWFUL WORK.taken my car back not once but soon to be twice shortly after picking it up when they call close to closing and then getting home and finding multiple things wrong or unfixed. I should not have had to have things fixed after being told it’s ready for pick up such as not even having the decals put back on my car after they painted it. So many things wrong and awful customer service. Not once was I walked out to my car and showed repairs I was handed the key and told you’re all set just for there to be many things wrong. Never will recommend to anyone. They don’t deserve the money they got paid for the awful work and awful customer service. Do not go here. If they didn’t have to fix the work they did wrong I would not be returning. Once they fix the decals on my door being placed in the middle of my door instead of where it should be, I will never see them again.
Vehicle repair took a long time, (3 weeks) which is expected these days as all shops are shorthanded. I wasn't expecting anything great as I have a 10 year old car, but quality of paint work was very poor, tons of dust and debris in paint, gigantic glob/run of clearcoat right smack in the middle of the hood, and roof of car is now 2 different colors. I've seen better paint laid down on stuff painted outdoors. As a master level technician with dealership experience, I expect a car coming out of a professional body shop to look much better than this when delivered.
The parts took forever to come in (not their fault) and they kept me updated on how the car was coming along. A few month after we got the car back some clips broke. (They had to use aftermarket cause of Covid.) No questions asked. They ordered the part again (dealer part was avaliable.) Any time I brought the car there they made sure it was washed and looked grear.
Enjoy dealing with them in my time of need. Called every step of the way and was informing. Worked hard to help with anything. Now i know why they are #1 on my insurances list for collision shops.
Terrible quality of work. Had to bring my car roof back 3 times and they just can’t get it right. The finish is very dry looking and uneven in several spots. This place does work that is on par with Maaco if they are even around anymore. I would highly advise against going here. I’m bringing my car to the dealer to have them re do the entire roof correctly. What a waste of $580.00. Live and learn I guess. The staff there is very nice accommodating and John the manager was wanting to get this resolved and done correctly but unfortunately this just wasn’t the case.
Update: Brought my vehicle to the dealer and apparently what I am seeing is an improper attempt at blending by Gerber. In addition the clear coat was apparently applied in a less than quality effort. The person who assessed my vehicle said that the overall finish looks rushed and unacceptable for a $60,000 dollar vehicle. The dealer is going to fix this abomination but it is going to cost me double what I already paid Gerber. This whole experience with Gerber has been an utter nightmare. I feel like I should receive a refund so that I can apply if towards the extra work that I never should have had to have done. I will post an update when the roof is complete.
Update: Roof came out great from the dealer. Cost me 3 times as much to fix the screw up done at Gerber Collision. Really nothing I can do about the wasted time and money at this point. Considering small claims court as recommended by a friend. Johnathan from Gerber reached out to me about a week and a half ago and asked what he could do to make things right. I graciously asked for a refund to put towards fixing the damage that Gerber did to the roof and he said he would “look into it” As I suspected he never got back to me. I would highly recommend staying away from this shady operation at all costs. They are a chain repair shop and are only concerned with pumping out numbers not quality of work. If you remotely care about the paint work matching and/or the quality of the finish meaning the final clear coat then you will stay away from this operation. If your insurance company suggests you go there because they are one of their connected repair shops by all means don’t let them force you to go there. I guarantee you will regret your decision.
This location did an excellent job, timely repairs, and my car looks like new. I would highly recommend. Staff and the manager are extremely pleasant to work with.
After the unpleasant experience of a hit and run accident with my car, these folks did a exceptional job repairing the damages. Friendly and professional service.well done!
Not much to say.following up Gerber checked back in with me. Checked to see if there was much to do in order to get better reviews. That in itself means something. I do appreciate the feedback and having them check back.
The youngman who worked on my car was very professional, courteous, and payed attention to detail. My car was done on time it was clean, everything he said he would do he did. Great job I dont remember his name but I hope to see him again to thank him. The people at the front was great also.

I agree with some others that mentioned their car rattling and making noises after having their cars serviced here. I had the same issue. Car was whisper quiet before taking it there, now I can hear every tiny rock hit the body and the car makes little crack/shake noises inside as if something was made unstable. All I got was a front bumper replaced, That shouldn't be happening. I didn't even bother bringing it up to them because I already know what the runaround would be like as they'll just deflect and deny.
Used carrubba to fix my minivan after hitting a deer. They were extremely friendly. I even was able to get another minivan rental in case mine wasn’t ready in time to get my daughter moved in to college. But, they got it done early and in time to use my own! Now you would never know there was any damage done! Looks brand new!
