The owner is kind, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. My husband and I go to Freewheelers whenever our bikes need a tune-up or other repairs.

Always learn something every time I go, appreciate Roger's great service and helpful tips.

Went to get a new chain for my bike and he kicked me out after I asked why he was quoting me $250.
To be fair to the guy, it had some surface rust on the sprockets, but all I wanted was a new chain because most of the other stuff on the bike was only a couple years old. He quoted me $250 to repair it, and when I asked why it was so expensive, he said that he didn't like working on rusty bikes and eventually told me to leave.
He kicked me out of his store because I was asking questions.

Thanks to Roger and his team. They took an old project bike and made it new again. Rode it tonight. What a thrill! Do not hesitate to get that project bike finally done by taking it in.

The only place I’ll be bringing my bike to get worked on in Rochester moving forward. Honest mechanics charging fair rates.

My rear cassette would occasionally skip teeth, the owner saw it was an easy fix, he adjusted it on the spot and didn't charge me. Thanks!

I'm a plus size woman who was treated with nothing but respect in this shop. They clearly are a local institution that love what they do and their community. I think if you give respect here you'll get back respect along with their expertise. The tuneup they did on my bike was truly beautiful, the best it has had in a very long time. Is anything they do fast? No, and perhaps we all need to slow down a bit. Is their work very high quality? Absolutely, and that's a rare thing lately. Thank you again.

I'm writing this review to let people to know that they have to wait a week for something as simple as changing the inner loop of one tire!
The two Star rating is because the owner was very rude to me when I asked him why would it take so long? He should treat his customers better even if they're wrong.

Great place to get bikes repaired. It was almost closing time but they still offered to look at my bike and repaired it. I'll recommend it to anyone who needs a bike repair or service.

Haven't visited yet but am giving 5 starts based on a recommendation to visit for my own bike's needs and because I love the thoroughness and candid Owner responses on the low ratings. I understand the nature of business and customer service. This store has my business solely by the passionate and practical responses provided. Kudos and looking forward to your service.

Freewheelers Bicycle Shop is a great place to bring your bike for service. I discovered this bike shop a few years ago and happy I did. Roger prides himself on his fastidiousness and attention to detail when it comes to servicing your bike to function as a reliable source of transportation. All the while being conscientious of costs. Roger has been in business for nearly half a century and has nothing to prove to anyone, he will not be rushed, and he wont bend over backwards for someone "just dropping in". If you're interested in building a relationship with a reliable and trustworthy bike mechanic - Freewheelers is the place to go. Make a point to stop in on the offseason and strike up a conversation, you'll be happy you did!

My brother and I are riding the Erie Canal from Buffalo to Albany. I broke my seat post today and I called Roger and stopped by for a repair. He was able to install a new seat post and send us on our way. Great service from a pro who really knows bikes.

Rude grumpy and overpriced. I came in the store with heavy rain didn’t know that he don’t accept walk-ins. So he came out calls my bike “creepy, awful’ Walmart bike. I am a med student taking student loans, so sorry that I can’t afford any upper class bikes lol.

Owner is a great guy, sold me some parts, had great conversation and is one of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Very knowledgeable
