I love, love, love this place. Once I found out the amazing facials here, I haven’t gone anywhere else. My skin has been glowing, thanks to Fonce Glow. MJ knows what she’s doing on everyone’s skin. I also took my mother here and she’s been loving her skin after her facial. I also got lash extensions; the quality and the look both were amazing. They lasted fully for first two weeks. 100% recommend Fonce Glow for anyone struggling with their skin.

They are amazing. When I got their my eye brows were a mess. And I had bad acne. They fixed my eye brows and helped clear up my acne. They did wonder for me. I went to so many different places for my eyebrows and always got bad results. But this place is special and helped me tremendously. I’m happy I finally found a place that’s clean and friendly environment and their professional. Thank you guys so much.

I get my eyebrows done here since they open. Everyone is so sweet. Fonce knows how to do brows. My brows looks healthy and fuller.

I finally found a perfect place for eyelash extensions and hair color. I got a full set of eyelash extensions lash week and they still look just PERFECT! They also do amazing skin treatments. Thank you Maria!

My favorite beauty spot in Brooklyn! I got my eyelash extensions and hydra facial services here. I’m very happy with the results. I tried eyelash extensions at other places in Brooklyn but I wasn’t satisfied with the result. FonceGlow use feather like lashes and they don’t feel heavy. They spent an hour on facial. I got a lot of compliments on clean glowing skin and eyelash extensions. Thank you Fonceglow! I can’t wait to visit you guys again

Maria was amazing! It was such a relaxing, informative, and beautiful facial treatment. My skin is still so glowy and smooth till this day! I'm looking forward to coming back next time I am in the city!

This review is about eyelash extensions with Maria. I always hate leaving negative reviews, except in extreme cases. This was an extreme case. I also recognize that service providers have families to support, however, paying clients do as well.
I decided to try Foncé Glow after it moved into my neighborhood in Brooklyn. It’s other location had good reviews, so I made an appt for a removal & new set. I work in the beauty industry and I've had my lashes done for many years and even went to the training myself before that, so I am no novice with lash extensions.
Maria was friendly and seemed very confident, said and acted like she has been a lash stylist for many years. I felt confident. She explained that we were going to use cluster lashes, she called them “Russian Doll”. I’ve wanted to try this type for some time but my old place didn’t offer it, so I was excited. She said I was currently wearing a size 14 so we would do the same length on the center and a cat eye (shorter on the inner corners) to a size 11. So, 11,12,13,14.
The Removal:
Maria used a gel-type remover to remove my lashes. This gel sat on for 5 mins before being scraped off - yes, scraped. She was using a very stiff, very sharp silicone disposable mascara wand. On the most delicate skin of the body: the undereye with NO protection on it (that's how I saw what she was using)! It was unbearably painful. I asked her to stop.
The gel also burned my eyes to high heaven (please note- I have a very high pain tolerance). It finally went away after a solid 5 mins and her spraying rose water in my eyes. She said this was normal and people get used to it and it doesn't burn so much "the next time".
The Application: Right eye
Maria explained that she was going to start with my right eye, then show me, tweak if necessary, then do my left. I was relaxed here as I trusted her, even through her chattiness and hands & breath that smelled of cigarette smoke.
She showed me my eye, and all I can say is that I was speechless. Many were crooked, they were all the same size (14’s straight across and touching my brow bone - not what we discussed nor what is flattering) sparse and you could clearly see the base of each extension cluster and glue (about 16 clusters/eye).
I figured what can I do now? It’s already halfway done. She took off the protective pad and tape. Next, she decided to put another cluster on he corner WITHOUT having the tape/pad on my eye to protect it! She even commented that it was “risky”. Yes, downright dangerous! The eye should be completely protected by a gel pad and skin tape during the entire service.
The application: Left eye
The other eye went even worse. That eye she not only glued shut, she FORCED my eye open when she couldn’t get them separated! Those lashes were even more crooked and had even more glue on them.
Conclusion
I could tell by Maria's rustling around and by her touch that she was not confident and didn’t have the hands of experience - especially to be charging $120 and be so near to the eye with a permanent service.
Like I said above, I’ve taken a lash course several years ago and have had them done regularly for years, and this did not look or feel the same. Something was very off. The kit looked like it had been bought off Amazon and there is no way she should be working on paying clients yet.
After she showed me both eyes again, she knew I was not happy whatsoever. She offered to remove & re-do them for free but I could not get out of there fast enough.
5-6 clusters fell out right away that same evening. I paid to have someone else remove them (a pain free and burn free process - the photo with the white tape) because they were bothering me & I wanted them off ASAP.

Do NOT go here for lash extensions! Maria is not properly trained and should not be working on real people - especially paying ones. She needs months of training and practice before taking paying clients.

Best beauty salon at parkslope area. I like the way they did my brow threading. I suffer from dry skin problems, got a facial here and I can’t believe how beautiful my skin looks. I’m definitely going back for more Facial and threading. Highly recommended!
