Emek was a wonderful server and took excellent care of my family and friends for my birthday party. Food and atmosphere were perfect for a celebration. Thank you Emek!
I loved this place, great ambiance and really wonderful service. Only fault is that the menu would be better with a few additional choices, it's pretty limited. I don't usually order tacos but went for steak and they were tasty. Only two though so not sizeable if you're hungry.
I haven’t been to Empellon in a few years and the quality has definitely declined. Their tacos used to be inventive and would incorporate non-traditional ingredients. Unfortunately the menu is now very basic. Also, offering a taco special and then it’s 1 taco is really disappointing.
Every dish was delicious. The guacamole is to die for. The server was extremely knowledgeable and gave a little explanation for each item we asked about. We can’t wait to go back
Sheesh. I highly recommend not eating at this place. In a city with so many taco joints, or tequila bars - you, your money and time will be better off somewhere else. 1 star for offensively priced, bad food with service to match.
Had an amazing time here with my friends me and her were looking for a place to eat and we stumbled upon Empellon and we are glad we did Pablo was great and very knowledgeable of the menu, our drinks were nice (gotta have that spicy margarita again) and food was great (really good fish tacos). Overall an awesome experience and will try it out again when we come back to the city. Thank you
Excellent friendly service. Regular margarita was tasteless. Cucumber margarita was excellent. Guac was ok but chips were good. Queso fundido was wierd. Steak taco was just ok.
Nourriture fraîche et savoureuse. Excellent service. Belle déco. Mexicain haut-de-gamme, petites portions. Entrée de guacamole et chips (18$) assez pour deux. C’est excellent. Bien situé dans Greenwich, immense terrasse.
Went here on a company outing and the service and the food was very good. Can't beat the location.many choices after eating for after dinner drinks. Recommend this place for a casual but not fast food type of casual. Drinks were excellent. Oxtail tacos were delicious
Trendy spot with a limited menu and decent but overpriced food that's not memorable. I got a brunch dish, but it wasn't memorable at all. The flavors all got mixed together, and the portion was small. The tacos Al pastor came with an unripe slice of pineapple and the meat could have been a lot juicier. The tortilla was also bland. The hamachi tartare tasted better, but it had so much rice. The chocolate flan was tasty, but not really a flan.
This was my 2nd time here and I love it. The tacos and guacamole were super tasty! It wasn’t too busy inside which honestly is a vibe. Cozy and not too loud so it’s easy to have a conversation and hear each other. Drinks were on point as well! Definitely will be back and I definitely recommend.
In order form best to worst: - Spicy margarita was good - Pretty good guac and chips - Meh Fish tacos - Very underwhelming grapefruit margarita - Very bland Brussels sprout taco -The “special” crab cake taco was honestly inedible, super tough and chewy
The staff was honestly the best part, the food was either okay or just bad, won’t be returning sadly. Also, our check came super dirty at the end too, ew. (see photo).
I’ve frequented this establishment on three separate occasions, and I really enjoy this spot.
The menu isn’t extensive; the food is à la tapas style, but very delicious. The bar, too, isn’t extensive in terms of liquor; but the cocktail menu is pretty awesome, and the bartenders seem knowledgeable about their tequilas.
I’d label the vibe as semi-romantic vibes with their simplistic, but modern decor, with dim lighting. Great spot for a first date, a meet/greet, or friends gathering, or even after-work-happy-hour- hang.
We only got drinks there but it was a fun cool environment. By NYC bar standards it was decently lit so that was nice. The only thing that was odd was that it closed pretty early for a place in the city.
Service was very attentive and the food was super delicious the presentation was gorgeous so glad we ran into this spot highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Venue is super sleek also.
This place is awesome. Beautiful environment, spacious, AMAZING FOOD and friendly staff. I would recommend lamb and special tacos. The cucumber margarita is refreshing.
Loved it here. Was the perfect modern but chill place. Not sure if it's always so relaxed but it was just what we wanted for the evening. Wait staff was great, which is hard to come by these days.
Have been here several times and never left disappointed. The seven salsas are a must, the himachi crudo is divine, and the tacos are simply delicious. Pairs with a tasty (and strong) mescal marg or the spicy "por que no" - you can't go wrong.
I actually ordered delivery, and wow was I happily surprised. First off, the food was packaged perfectly, with great instructions on how to best ensemble the food. I got the black trumpet tacos, smoked cashew salsa, and pinto beans. Everything was absolutely delicious and very flavorful. I look forward to visiting the restaurant in the near future, but this is such a great idea for ordering in. I highly recommend! Only thing I wish for the future is a vegan refried bean option!
2 of us shared, in order of liking from most to least, the special tacos (with wrapped bacon), shrimp tacos, and lamb tacos. The special tacos were uniquely interesting, shrimp tacos good, and for the lamb tacos I wasn't a fan of the salsa boracha. Overall, the food was all good, though it's pricey for tacos.
The fish tacos were lovely, pastrami was very underwhelming and I wouldn't suggest it. The tacos are pretty large so a single order was enough. A little disappointed that al pastor was only on the menu at specific locations.
I stumbled into this Mexican restaurant by complete accident & was lucky enough to find a table at the right time. The staff very friendly & attentive. The interior was available but the outdoor dinning was very inviting & also available. Service was great, drinks were delicious & food definitely outstanding! The carnitas were a little salty but delicious to say the least. I do have to admit, it was a little pricy but can't denied that it was money well spent. Can't wait to go back.
What an amazing brunch! The food was fantastic great bites to share or enjoy solo. The quesadilla was so many interesting we are still raving about it. The service was perfection and Phillip, whom I think is the manager, was so gracious to our group celebrating our friends birthday! This place is the best Mexican food in all of NYC! Will return often.
Very small portions regarding very high prices. Place is not upscale at all as they claim. Margaritas have almost no alcohol while they replace it with additional spices. This place charges 10% Covid recovery fee. Why they do this? Because now they can.
This restaurant is impeccable! I’ve had almost everything on the menu and they never disappoint. The service is outstanding and the decor is gorgeous. The manager Katie is so friendly and helpful. Really beyond compare and beautiful too!
Upscale taqueria with a good ambience and drinks selection. I appreciate its creative take on traditional tacos. The food is good, but not good enough to justify the high prices and small portions. The lobster taco and the 7 dip salsa were a fun experience to try but not worthy of getting again. I was baffled at the $17 guac. The pork taco was more of a classic street taco style. While it was delicious, it’s also something that you can find elsewhere for half the price.
This restaurant never fails to amaze me. The staff greeted me with a great professional personality. He was attentive, professional, and fun. He made me feel comfortable and welcoming. He treated me like I am the only patrons in the restaurant.
Went for bottomless brunch and got the chorizo sandwich and breakfast tacos. The chorizo sandwich was out of this world. Their tacos are also really good but I enjoyed the sandwich more than the tacos.
This place is absolutely wonderful. The tacos are excellent, modern takes on traditional flavors. So incredibly delicious and I am super picky. The drinks are strong and flavorful, and the service is always on point. I went back twice in four days (and I live in another borough). That is how serious I am about this place. 5 stars!
Limited vegetarian options but the ones they have are to die for. We keep going back for the same dishes and they've only gotten better over time. Churro french toast is a must try!
