Went here to get 3 tires replaced. After paying and driving away I didn’t make it more than a block down the road as my tire LITERALLY popped off the axle. Because of that they had to lug my car back into the shop and keep it overnight to fix…

Cannot express how much they have helped me. When I found them threw good friend. I was very hesitant. I was so done with mecanics. However ralph assurd me That I was in good hands. Not only was I in good hands they are honest! Good! Reliable! Mecanics. They dont try to put parts in that are not needed. You cannot find better.

I want to warn whoever plans to step foot in this shop. We have been going to Emil's for years and trusting him without our cars and money. Every single time we come he recommends that we change all of our tires. We always blindly trust him, and pay him a handsome sum of $350 per wheel. Recently we came to him with a brand new car that happened to have had a flat tire. As soon as he sees my car he recommends that I buy a new wheel. Being that its a new car that seemed strange to me. So I asked him to just fix the aforementioned tire. After a quick look he decisively said that the tire has been destroyed and there is nothing that can be done. Only a new wheel. I seriously doubted him. I took the car to a different, and seemingly far more honest body shop. After one look, and a mere $10, they patched up my tire and put it back on and I was on my merry way. I can only warn every person that comes to this shop, they will rob you of your money. Do yourself a favor and find a better place.

So arrived at 3pm. Waited about 1 hour to get alligment. During aligment arrived few cars and repaimen just simply forgot finishing doing balance and left to fix other cars. Well i asked why it takes that long, especially when i arrived nobody was at service center at all and everything could be done within 1 hour. So boss said well i have to do others too. I told him he need to finish with my car first instead keep me waiting when you will finish them. But owner left without saying anything. I wasnt expected that kind of service for money i pay. So service is terrible, my time is wasted. I paid for aligment only because i can not wait all day for simple balance while owner keep fixing other cars and keep me waiting. Spoiled place. I Will look other place to fix issues.

My father (72 years old) wanted to fix the tires and they told that it will take about 30 mins to do this. In the end he wait them about 2 hours. Also when he asked like what’s going on, they answered that this job takes so much time and they wasn’t very pleasant and communicative. So just be aware of this place. Better save your money and time and don’t go there. If I can give this place 0 stars I definitely give it. Such a horrible client service couldn’t exist.

Was looking for a brand new set of tire's to replace the factory tires I had on my car. Called a few places around and Emil's came back with a quote that was higher than other's but based on reviews I figure I would go with with them since Ralph was very quick to respond as well as personable, which goes a long way in my book.

I also didn't want to go with the cheapest quote because I was a bit worried about all the negative reviews claiming damage during tire replacement.

So I booked a specific time slot and upon arrival had to wait 10-15 minutes for them to work on my car. After the waiting period a mechanic came out and proceeded to floor jack my car up manually to remove the tires. I was a bit surprised that they left the car standing on floors jacks as those are meant to temporarily hold the car up and not for long periods of time due to potential failure of the piston. My previous tire replacements have all been done on a lift.

I waited another hour for the job to be completed and paid in cash. After driving the car home and inspecting the tires again I noticed a slight gash on the right rear rim, which was not there before I had the tires replaced. The reason I know is that I change my tires every winter and spring myself and inspect for any sort of damage on the rims. I had just mounted my summer tires them before I brought them over to Emil's.

Overall I was okay with the service, but not happy that they scratched my rim in the process. Based on reviews of other tire shops damaging rims seems like a common occurance, who knew. Had I known my rims might get scratched I probably would have just taken it to the cheapest quote I received.

I had a shop swap a tire for me deep in NJ because that’s where I lost a tire after getting back on the highway I noticed the car was shaking. Brought it to Ralph and it turns out the tire wasn’t balanced properly. Emil’s balanced it the proper way and resolved my issue. These guys are the best hands down!

TL;DR Ralph told me I needed a relatively expensive repair that another mechanic verified as unnecessary.
I have been coming here for years; this place is always busy yet Ralph seemed to know my family even if we only came in once or twice a year. For nearly 20 years we were always treated good, at least I thought so.
Less than a year ago Ralph said we needed a part and while I had reservations I trusted him and went ahead with the repair. Recently a similar situation occurred for a more expensive repair and I bought it to another mechanic for a second opinion; the other mechanic not only said the repair unnecessary but that if it was needed then I would have experienced specific symptoms that I wasn't.
I almost want to give Ralph the benefit of the doubt, but unless he doesn't know what he's doing this couldn't have been a mistake. Beyond any monetary losses I trusted the guy and liked him which makes the whole situation even worse - knowing my family he should have known we didn't have money to waste on unneeded repairs.
This shop is thriving and I doubt he'll miss my business yet he still needs to do unnecessary work? I could still almost be convinced it was somehow a mistake (no one wants to believe they've been taken advantage of) but realistically I don't see how that could have been possible.

My only advice is to get a second opinion if he says you need something beyond the scope of the initial reason for going there.

Family run shop for decades, and honest nice people. I was always warned of sleazy tire and repair shops. But from the gecko, when I called about their services, I was given straight answers re: the make/model of my car. Had an oil change and tire rotation-affordable service and they got right to it! Plenty of hardworking guys in the back. Ralph and his daughter make an excellent team, intelligent, upfront, and they get right to business. You and your car will be in good hands.

Over priced and unprofessional service They fixed my damaged wheel rim for 150$and absolutely no quality. Never go again. Scammers and swindlers

I got a flat tire and came in 30 minutes before closing to diagnose a grinding noise. Ralph was very kind - he took my car in and had a test drive and inspection on the lift done, despite it being so late in the day. They weren't able to find anything, but didn't charge for their time.

I use them only for my state inspections which are always quick and painless whenever I decide to show up. They have a well known reputation for being honest and fair.

One of the best places in Brooklyn; knowledgeable, professional and fair! They have become my go to auto mechanic for the past 5 years.

I’ve been coming to this shop for many years when I lived in Brooklyn for motorcycle & car maintenance & inspections. I live far on Staten Island now and needed my TPMS sensors on the latest model Lexus relearned and reprogrammed even though my car is under warranty I didn’t think twice of going anywhere but this shop. I Arrived early in the morning Ralph remembered me right away very nice man heart of a GOLD! In about 20 minutes the car was ready. Very neat & professional staff!

Came here for an oil change and tire rotation. Was very prompt and in my haste forgot to ask if they change the filter. The girl laughed and said it wouldn’t be much of a change without the filter been done!

Either way 5/5! My next question is what blend or name of oil did you use? !

Snow Tires
I bought snow tires from Tire Rack yesterday afternoon. They were delivered to Emil's early this morning and on my Dodge Caravan early this afternoon. Emil's called me to tell me the tires arrived and that I can come in for installation before Tire Rack emailed me that they were delivered! Very satisfied. Easy, pleasant transaction. Ralph and his guys are very friendly. They bagged my all season tires and loaded them into the back for me which was a very nice touch. Highly recommend.

I've been going to Ralph for years and years for my moms Range Rover, my old S class, my old Porsche and now my new BMW. Never a problem - always delivers as promises at the price promised and time promised. I scrolled down and saw a few people say that "their prices are over the top" and "they don't involve you in the decision making". I can say after 7 years or so of going to Ralph - those are most definitely nonsense reviews. Ralph also has done the brakes on my porsche and mom's Range - and never EVER a problem - prices quoted in advance, and an expected time of pickup is always given in advance. They also sell tire insurance policy which has always been helpful - and they do all the phone calling and warranty claims themselves - so you just drop the car off and the headache is not there. See for yourself.

They did a good job with my flat tire, but in my absence they changed the frame of my rear license plate to the Emil's Tire advertising frame. Wow! They did not even ask me, and change it, very disrespectful. I found out this much later. I did not want change the frame, I liked it, strange behavior.

Great service. Honest people. I will go back again. Only issue I had was their service guy smoking a cigar in my car. Not sure how long it will take for it to go away.

You better do not go there in case of emergency, like I did a week ago because of flat tire. I simply did not have the other choice. Yes, they helped me out. But prices are over the top, and you are not going to participate in decision making. Nobody even cares to ask you what do you want or which tire do you prefer to have. I will avoid this place in the future.

They're amazing! I got a flat tire and they're the closest tire shop to me. Since my tires are worn, I decided to get two new front tires. As they were taking care of it, I noticed that there was a nail in my back tire too. Changed all 4 tires so I don't need to worry about the winter weather. Not an expense I was planning on, but they definitely made me feel safer. Excellent and speedy service allowed me to make it to my meeting in time. Definitely spreading the word. Did my car inspection there. The service was fast and hassle free. This is the only place in my neighborhood that does inspections at any time of day on first come first serve basis.

Brought my car in by tow after I couldn't get my flat tire off the rim (rust). They got it off no problem. Ended up getting four new tires, alignment and had all four brake pads replaced. Fair prices and friendly, knowledgeable workers. Will definitely recommend to anyone in South Brooklyn.
