So kind and generous! I had an Asian male do my hair for my 30th birthday (which was Gatsby theme) and it came out stunning! This was honestly my first time at dry bar in general and have heard so many great things. Definitely bang for the buck!

Went into this location, the UES and Soho asking for a Manager to call me back regarding my bosses membership. They'll take your money very efficiently but if you have a question or problem or need anything beyond an average blow out, no one will get back to you, ZERO CUSTOMER service! Every person at each location whom I dealt with seemed very uninterested to say the least. It's 10/23 still no call back from a Mgr and I left a note with all the info at each location. Non existent customer service! Wondering how they stay in business!

Probably the worse hair styling I have ever had. My hair is naturally wavy. I asked them to simply define a few of the curls.

After 2 hair stylists (thank you manager of the store for at least trying) and a lot of burning smell in the air the receptionist was the cherry on the top: she was rude beyond belief!

It will be sad for the employees of this establishment to all loose thier jobs when this location goes out of business. They'll have the two dames at the front desk to thank. These girls must need a hug.

Horrible experience. They were almost 30 minutes late for my appointment and I had to leave for work so never got my blow out.

It was a horrible experience do not spend your money here. I had my hair done for an an engagement party. First, the woman did a completely different style than what I asked for and blamed it on my short hair. The manager stepped in and had someone do it correctly. Second, I got home 30 minutes later and my hair is flat. The curls did not last more than 30 minutes. I normally have wavy hair that holds up curls but this didn’t hold up. My hair looks like it was flat ironed and now curled at all.

Terrible service. I was a 3: 15pm walk in on Sunday the 3rd of September. Sign outside store said 7pm close and walk ins welcome. Both stylists were working with clients but acknowledged me so I took a seat. Half an hour later as both clients were finished eftpos issues held up one stylist. The other had a very disgruntled client so disappeared out the back. At 3: 40pm the first stylist said “oh I thought you were waiting for someone”…. ”we close at four”. I said your sign says you are open until 7pm! Response was “sorry but staff shortages mean those aren’t our hours anymore, you need to leave because we are closing”. Unbelievable. The stylist could have stayed and done my hair given the circumstances. If that was my business I’d be appalled at the staff attitude to customer service and brand reputation.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Let me start off by saying I am not the type to write reviews but my experience warrants it. They had an attitude the second I walked in and I heard the front desk lady to refer to me as the "Latino one" when my stylist asked who I was. When I showed my stylist the style I wanted (which was just a traditional blowout) she said she could not do that and the only thing she could do was straighten or curl it. I eventually said she can just straighten it. While she was straightening my hair, she burned the back of my head very badly to the point where I now have to use a Silicon scar gel for the scar. She did not apologize or even acknowledge the burn after I flinched and let her know she burned my head. I booked the appointment for a guest as well, who showed up on time but they claimed she was 5min late as that is when the front desk got to her and they refused to style her hair (and they still charged her for the full price of the blowout). After my hair was done and I paid via gift card, the front desk lady did not even say thank you or have a good day, she just tossed my gift card back at me. I am honestly appalled and have never experienced this type of treatment, please avoid.

I love coming to this Drybar! I’ve been 3 separate times and gotten 3 different people each time and they were all fantastic! I love knowing that no matter what, I am getting great service and a great blow dry! The receptionist and stylists are all great and very nice. Highly recommend!

They did a great job! Only thing - didn’t these places used to give you a glass of Prosecco? That would have made it perfection, but everything was great otherwise.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked this appointment a few days before and was 9 min late due to the subway getting stopped. I was told they could not do my hair and could only dry style it. I explained I was delayed because of the subway and they didn’t care both the receptionist and the manager were extremely rude. They explained there’s a 10 min policy where after 10 min they won’t do a blow out. This “policy” isn’t stated in the website or sent to you in the confirmation text you get after booking. I have mixed 3b/3c hair and the fact that they looked me dead in the eyes and offered to dry flat iron my curls. No actual hair professional would ever suggest this as it would be so damaging. It was my 30th birthday and I needed my hair done for my party that night and since I didn’t want the “dry style” they tried to charged me a standing no show fee which I found shockingly horrible as far as customer service goes. Everyone I dealt with was incredibly rude, I would highly suggest better management and to make their late policy more clear. This place honestly seems like a scam. Jokes on them because I booked the call over the phone and they never had my CC on file to charge me their scammy no show fee. Judging by everyone else’s horrible reviews I was probably better off doing my hair myself.

Do not go to this shop. You would be better off at any other location. Raquel is a common denominator in a lot of negative reviews on here and Yelp and after Friday, it makes perfect sense.

Let me just start out by saying my initial experiences with the DryBar chain were fantastic. Unfortunately, the Midtown East location feels like a completely different experience, in the worst way possible.

I had planned a nice girl's day with my friend and we planned to get blowouts together. I am a former member with a few extra credits to use by the end of the month.
This shop has messed up with me before. Last time I went, I told them I had a blowout to use. I checked the next day and they charged me anyway, so i had to call and have them correct the error. I decided to give them another chance.

I called and made my appointment and made sure to let them know that I have a lot of hair and expressed the need for a senior stylist. They accommodated me and they booked extra time because I have so much hair.

The train delays messed me up but I took total ownership of being late (could have planned better). I called to let them know it looked like I'd be a bit late, but Raquel, the woman on the phone, was super rude to me and my friend (who was waiting in the shop for me.) she said they could give me a dry style instead, but seeing as I called ahead and explained that I have a lot of curly hair, it was honestly laughable. I didn't have the opportunity to reschedule either. My friend has straight hair, so they could have dry styled her and let me have my spot, but they didn't. Raquel pushed me off the phone and said if I wanted to come we could "talk in person", but the aggressive, antagonistic tone of her voice made me feel uncomfortable and I did not want the situation to escalate. I waited for my friend outside.

Even though my friend was literally in the shop, DryBar charged a no show fee for her even though she was there.

There's no need to have someone so disrespectful running the shop, especially when I did all I could do to kindly communicate and take ownership of my part in the situation. I hope she gets the training and support she needs.

Tried to take a party here, they were rude and accommodating. Had to leave. I would never recommend.

Such a low quality service. I asked for an up-do and the lady did poorly done babyliss for 10 mins and just tied my hair up. From start to end it was less than 25 mins and it looked like I had done it home. And then the bill came: $100! Definitely not worth it - very disappointing as I thought drybar was a good company.

I wish I could leave NO Stars. Rachel you are the absolute worst manager for this business and I hope they would reconsider getting someone more friendly for this position. I scheduled and appointment and was 6 minutes late. They said they could not see me. I asked for the late show policy which states 5-10 minutes. I said I’m 6 minutes late so I’m in that window. She says no it’s at my discretion and I say no. I paid $40 for an Uber and left as soon as I called which was 45 minutes prior to this appointment and they could get me in. I am not someone who makes being late a habit and I understand time is valuable trust me. But the complete and utter rudeness from Rachel “the manager” blows my mind. What happened to friendly customer service. If you hate your job than leave and find another. Do not go here!

Marcia is amazing! Her work and demeanor are beautiful. By far one of my best blowouts. I will definitely return to see her again!
