First-time dining at this establishment revealed a stark contrast between the exceptional food quality and the lacking service and ambiance. There's a noticeable need for improvement in these areas.

Great place to bring my guests from out of the area. Nice rustic feel on the Hudson, great BBQ, numerous choices of tasty beverage on tap, and finally friendly professional staff.

Had the Tres Niños plate and a ceasar salad. The meats were smoked to perfection. Not dry. Very tender. The mac-n-cheese is amazing!

Great lunch w a friend yesterday. Brisket sandwich was amazing with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy that hit the spot. Yum!

My meal was fine. However, my brothers food was luke warm, told the waitress, she replaced everything with fresh hot food, not her fault, kitchen staff should check temp.before sending it out.

I’m not a BBQ connoisseur, but I’ve had my fair share on my travels around the country and Dinosaur has some really, really good BBQ. The ribs on our recent visit were particularly delicious, as was the pulled pork. Their sauces are awesome, and portions were generous. We were told it would be a 30-minute wait on a busy Sunday night, but we ended up being seated in about 10 minutes, and only waited another 10 for our food.

Every time we pass through this area, we’ll be stopping for great food and a cool riverside location.

I've been to the original in Syracuse a bunch of times, and the food here is just as good. My son is a picky eater and he loved his meal! Our server was very friendly, the service was great, and the food was amazing.

Why slice up jalapeno peppers into the brisket? Everything was spiced to the point of being inedible.

We waited an 1 1/2. It wasn't the best BBQ food for the wait. I was disappointed there wasn't more for gluten free options outside of not getting a bun. I didn't think there was much for kid options either. I asked for our seat to be changed because I felt uncomfortable with a bikini devil picture my 9 year old felt uncomfortable staring at. I also think that it didn't have a family friendly feel to it either. One waitress I felt was inappropriately dressed and it was very distracting. We had a great waitress that was dressed appropriately though which I was grateful for and the outside water veiw was nice. I wouldn't go back.

The wait wasn’t bad considering it is family weekend for Siena. The fried green tomatoes are OUT OF THIS WORLD. The Mac and cheese was meh. All 4 of us weren’t fans of it. We were divided on the cornbread. I thought it was delicious but the rest of our party found it dry. The pulled pork was good. I loved the brisket. All in all, I would definitely go back.

I have been here twice in the last month and I can tell you it runs hot and cold. First time I went it was packed on a Saturday night and service was great and the food was absolutely amazing. Went back a couple of weeks later on a Sunday and found that we were passed off to three different servers before they settled on one and the food was way overcooked, my son's to the point where we had to send back his burnt chicken wings. Same chicken I got previously that had been the best, most juicy chicken I ever had was tough and dry and portion size was almost half of what it had been the first time. Luckily they didn't charge us for my son's wings, but definately a much different experience than the first time.

Pack of food, in great flavor and full of serving, great view near the lake, love the outdoor patio, services are also friendly and nice even we asked for changed the table.
Definitely worth the visit and eating there.

I am torn with my review here because I’ve had some pretty good meals and some that were very salty or bland without the nice BBQ smoked meat flavor. When it was good, the pulled pork and brisket were nice and juicy and full of flavor and when it is bad, almost lumps of meat with barely any sauce and lots of fat. I had good Mac n cheese and not so good, the nachos can be nicely prepared with the right balance of meat, cheese, sauce and jalapeños or just mostly salty chips, cheese and jalapeños. My last two visits were not so phenom so I will hold on going there for a bit until they get the consistency of food flavor figured out. Generally service has been pretty good and friendly servers, though we are being extra patient some nights, given we know it is hard with COViD and shortage of service workers. There is plenty of parking in front and on the street.

Delicious food, a beautiful environment, and wonderful staff. This was our first time eating at The Dino Saur Bbq and My family and I enjoyed dining at this place, we will definitely be back!

One of the best places to have barbecue in the locality. Would recommend to anyone out there. The patio service is also pretty nice and it is a nice place to have a small party.

My husband & I ate there on the first evening of our road trip celebrating his retirement, and DINOSAUR BAR-B-Q (@99 Court St, Rochester, NY) really brought us a very pleasant thus yummiest treat to our happy moments!
We ordered the Sweetheart Deal & basic salad for both of us and still got some left over that we enjoyed as extended treat the next morning at our hotel room!
I have always loved BBQ ribs but never tasted any as special as this one, it’s crusty on top and seemed to me that the crust was built from the seasoning, very tasty to the centre of the meat, juicy but not crumble/ too soft, still held its perfect texture.
My husband was so impressed seeing me eating it without any BBQ sauce, I’ve never done it before, lol! I didn’t need any nor wanted to spoil the best taste of itself!
He said, “that speaks volume that you’re eating your ribs without BBQ sauce! ” Lol.

Ribs could be a lot lot better. Not a lot of meat and were kinda dry. The brisket and sides were better than the ribs which was disappointing.

The food is really amazing, every single time. It is a bit like a machine though, hard to get in sometimes and the tables are often sticky and sometimes the service is so-so. Can't really complain though, food is really good, every time.

If this is good barbecue in New York, then I feel bad for you all.
I ordered a bbq brisket sandwich and a kid’s chicken strip meal (so I could try more sides). I get up to my hotel room and there is no bun for my sandwich and no BBQ sauce- I mean, what is barbecue without the sauce? Next, it looks like you have a lot of meat, but this is the fattiest brisket I’ve ever seen. Also, when I got to the bottom, there was like a white sauce on the meat. The mashed potatoes and macaroni were both very dry and the potato salad had no seasoning. The baked beans were good though.
Don’t go here.

Very much enjoyed our visit. The place is large enough to spread people out and is situated with the river next to it for a nice view. To top it all off the food was great

Experience? Solid. Food? Excellent. Service? Flawless. What I want to focus on is the attention to disability and inclusion. I am asked as I am seated if I need a Braille menu; our server tells me the location of my beer; she then orients my plate. These are all small things. These all add up to what inclusion looks like. Solid.

First time here. Lively atmosphere, very clean and VERY busy.be prepared to wait a while if stopping in for lunch. Being a vegetarian I can't expect much of a variety from a BBQ place. Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't at least offer a beyond or impossible burger. The saving grace was our server that filled me in on their pupu platter. I was able to get 3 sides so I got mashed sweet potatoes that was dreamy, the potato salad (a little too mustardly for me) and Mac n cheese. OMG, I LOVED the Mac n cheese. Someone in another review I read said pass it but I'm sure glad that I didn't. Jim got a BBS sandwich n fries n he enjoyed it. Our friend got nachos with brisket and there was enough to feed like 3 ppl. We ended with the chocolate chip cookie cake I believe. It should have come with ice cream, what dessert doesn't taste better with ice cream. All in all, it's a meat lovers paradise so check it out if you like good BBQ.

Food didnt taste that great. Collards had carrots and were sweet. Corn bread taste like jiffy mix. Didn't like the gravy on the mash potatoes. Not the southern style one is use to.

We have been to this place before, have not had such a bad experience ever. We dine out frequently, but I have never had to write a bad review before, but I felt I had to this time. I felt pretty humiliated last weekend. A couple who came with us got the booth, while we, being a family of 3 got a ratchety table. And, we sat at the table without even getting our orders taken, while people who came after us got their meal and finished and left. When I asked our waiter why the delay in getting our food, she said the chicken steak my husband ordered was taking time! Chicken! We are a ‘colored’ family. Wonder if that had something to do with being ignored? It was pretty blatant! And I have been noticing it getting worse at dbbq

Had a great meal and Alex our waitress was super friendly. My dirty martini was a bit watered down, but other than that, we had a great experience
