Excellent steak and sides! Highlights were their signature Delmonico, the spatzle, the wedge salad, and the mushrooms.

Service was ok, but the real highlight was the food. Seriously my favorite steak I’ve had in the city, cooked perfectly medium rare and full of flavor. Opted for the black garlic butter on the side and it added flavor but the steak didn’t even need it. SO good.

Everything had excellent flavors and textures. The salad was really delicious with more layers than your typical wedge.

Reservations are a good idea on weekends.

The reopening is a great treat. The food was outstanding. It was a little pricey but not disappointed.

This place was beautiful on the outside as was the in the inside. I believe this is the oldest and first fine dining restaurant in America. I’m glad there was no dress code just wear smart casual, however I was probably underdressed and out of place. I haven’t done much in fine dining but the service here was exquisite. It’s exactly how I feel fine dining should be. The food was amazing I had to get their signature Delmonico steak cut. Let me say it was cooked to perfection and it was so tender and full of flavor with a wonderful sear on it, topped with some crispy onion stings. Has to be the best steak I have ever had so far. I’ve also tried their Main Crab cake for an appetizer which was a lot different than I’m used to in crab cakes but the crispy potatoes strings and the sauce it came with it went very well together, leaving me wanting more. Of course I had to have the Baked Alaska, which I believe they are known for. It was a very good its Banana Gelato, Walnut Cake, Apricot Jam that was Created in Delmonico’s Kitchens in 1867. I had a wonderful experience I most definitely recommend this place to anyone, the $100+ price tag is well worth it. Also make sure you make reservations, not needed but helpful.

The steak was fantastic here. The landmark steakhouse was reopened and brought back the landmark dishes like Delmonico wet aged ribeye steak, chicken a la keene and the Alaska. The place was restored back to its old glory. Everything was pricey here, but the food matched its high price level. I'm taking one star off because of the moodiness in the front, very unpleasant, must be an owner relative in the helm.

Delmonico‘s was always a place I wanna go. I‘ve heard the steaks are very good.
We decided to have lunch there.
First the staff is very friendly and they have a very customer oriented attitude. We ordered the Signature Delmonico (basically a Ribeye), chopped wedge salad, fries and for dessert baked alaska.
I was very surprised that the steak arrived after 5-10min - I never can do a perfect steak within that time frame. So I was curious how it is. The steak got to much heat and was rested to short. We ordered medium rare and it turned out medium to medium well. A lot of juice came out after I cut it. Taste wise it was ok - honestly for a signature dish I expected much much more.
The sides were good. The baked Alaska was as well not as expected. I expected the egg white crust crunchy. It was slimy.
The wines were good.
Do I recommend Delmonico‘s to friends. Food wise not. To expensive for the quality. Atmosphere and staff wise yes I would.

It’s just ok. If I want steak I go to Peter Lugers. That’s just the way it is. Although I been here 2-3 times I’m sorry I do not recommend it.

I love everything about Delmonico's.and if I win the lottery, I am eating there everyday.:) Until the, I shall keep breaking open the piggybank to dine at Delmonico's on special occasions. It is simply my new favorite restaurant in NYC.

I chose to come for the restaurants history and the atmosphere fit exactly what I imagined. Truly a beautiful dining experience. The food was good but not as good as I had expected. The service was terrible. The server was condescending and did not like that I was eating alone, making several comments on it and tried rushing me. Very disappointed by that part of the experience.

The steak is good, very tender and juicy. But the original baked alaska is very disappointing. They changed the outlook of it and literally became a baked garlic. I’ll definitely not recommend it!

Went there on dec 23 for my anniversary and ended up with food poisoning. Would go here all the time with my parents. Then it was the place for my anniversary with my husband. Different chef, new owner. And there all time baked Alaskan. Was a joke! Will never go back!

Twas not bad, in terms of American steaks this was as good as they come. The other chicken and the lobster are easy passes for future visits. (they were our second entrees just to try as many things on the menu as possible) the desserts were alright nothing special. Service and atmosphere were good, to be expected of the oldest steak house in NYC.

A bit classic for some but me and my husband are old souls. We listened to a lot of people complain because they didn't get waited on the way they expected but they were the nickel and dime crowd wanting everything but not wanting to pay for it. The decanted wine crowd of course got some special treatment and if you were drinking at the bar before you got some more attention because you were valued. If you came for the bread and a steak it is understandable that you didn't want all the attention especially on NYE.

It's certainly expensive, but it's definitely worth it. I had one of the best steaks of my life, which is saying a lot coming from an Argentinean.

This spot lives up to the reputation. The Delmonico steak is one of the best I have ever had.

Everything we ate was perfect in presentation and flavor. The seafood plateau was fresh and the presentation was impressive. The Delmonico steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The hashbrowns were very flavorful. The baked Alaska was interesting to try, but not my favorite dessert ever. Would love a chocolate baked Alaska instead. Service was a bit slow, it took about 30 mins post dessert to get our check. I recommend checking what they put in your to-go bag because it’s easy enough for a mixup when you collect your leftovers and coat. Overall it was a pricy dinner but I think the food was incredible and worth the indulgence.

We ordered some salads to start and when they arrived.a minute later the main course steaks came out.

When questioned the sraff about the timing.they acted as if that's was normal - I mean we hadn't even taken a bite of the appetizer and the steak was getting cold on the table.

Still cost us $300.

The main dining room looked nice but we sat at the lower "tap room" area which lacked any charm whatsoever and reminded me more of a hotel bar in Omaha than a high priced steak house in New York.

Huge disappointment, unimaginative cuisine, a Thanksgiving meal limited to a tasteless salad, tasteless turkey, accompanied by acidic spinach, elastic mash like mousseline, and potatoes, carrots and overcooked magma, one of the guests took the matured meat, full of nerves and difficult to cut, plus no training, go ahead! Presented raw on the plate, ($30 in addition to the $145 menu) the desserts quite uneven, the ice cream accompanying the chocolate cake was not edible at the time.
Small note for the service: we do not clear the glasses while the customers are still at the table. No, that’s not happening.
Otherwise the setting is cozy and well decorated.
