Rerating them from 5 to a 2. Scraped the back of my neck with the clippers and didn't really do what I asked. I'm happy my hair will grow back. I probably won't be going back. I've had 2 bad haircuts there in a row. The first few haircuts were great, not sure what the issue is. The top isn't even, noticed that when I got home.

Best barbershop in NYC. Michael is the man. Highly recommend David’s for a quality haircut and a great conversation.

David’s Barbershop is amazing, all the guys there are super nice and friendly. Always a good chat whenever getting a haircut. They listen to you and any haircut you ask for they execute perfectly. 10/10 recommend.

I finally remembered to give these guys a review and they never disappoint! I've been coming here a few years and I would definitely recommend this shop, experienced barbers and and still cheaply priced for UES! Ask for Shaun or Aleks but the other barbers are great as well (just take a pic of what you want) you will be back!

Just a classic throwback old school barbershop that gets the job done very well at a great price. Don't ever change.

Just stopped in to David’s for a quick cut. The conversation was great, the shop was the classic barber feel and I look the best I’ve looked in months! You really get a fantastic look that won’t break your wallet. I will certainly be returning for trims as often as I need them! Bravo, David’s!

Moved to UES from Midtown and needed a new barber. It's what you want from a barber - good people and a good cut. Some young guys some older guys. This is a Classic NY Barber shop with a good cut.

Michael gives excellent haircuts. He does an amazing fade. He is also a great guy. This place has a really laid back vibe to it. The price is reasonable as well. I highly recommend this barber shop!

I'm getting married this weekend so I went to David's because I had heard good things about their cuts. My barber recommended I keep some volume as this would look better in photos (makes sense) but then barely trimmed or shaped it at all. When I expressed my concern that it was too long especially on the sides he disagreed and wouldn't shorten it any further. Ended up going home and fixing it myself with clippers. I guess on the bright side I only spent $25 to be disappointed?

My go to spot for a fade. Of all the barbershops I’ve tried in the UES Michael always gets my skin fade perfect everytime. Never disappointed.

It’s cheap. So I went a couple times, but always got a weird vibe from the lead guy and was invariably sent to the worst barber there that day. I’d rather pay double somewhere else.

David is simply the best barber. He takes the time and effort everytime to give a great cut. He does both my hair and my sons and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Convenient parking lot and super clean location! Highly recommend!

Can only speak to one experience but pretty bad. Asked for a #1 fade and the guy immediately botched it going all the way up in a single spot then trying to fade the rest. I told him how uneven it was so he tried bringing the rest up and still couldn’t manage to keep it even. Honestly felt like the guy had never touched a pair of clippers before. Very Disappointed.
I was looking forward to a proper cut in NYC as I’ve been holding off from one when I was down south. Although the barber was very friendly he seemed very rushed. I asked for a hot towel treatment and I think he forgot or maybe wanted me gone fast for his next appointment as I was a walk in. Either way my beard is uneven, and no straight razor was used to shape it up so i have stubble that Ill take care of myself when I get home. Also still some loose hairs on the side of my ears etc.
Nice guy but he has a very rushed hand and it shows.

Worst haircut I ever got. I don’t know if the kid who cut my hair was a trainee (he was much younger than the other guys), but he really butchered it.

Absolutely worst haircut I have ever received. The older gentlemen in the single chair to the left did not respond to any of my instructions. Will never return.

Michael did a really great job cutting my hair. He treated it like a science and observed the way I do my hair and shaped it up really nicely and made me look good again. Great people in the shop too, highly recommend getting your haircut here.

Easily the most reasonable place for haircuts in manhattan, considering the top quality and professionalism. And yes, a lot of celebrities do get their haircuts here! You will not be disappointed

This barber shop is the biggest bang of your buck for only $20 you get a crisp hair cut and a razor shaven neck. Alex is the best barber!

This was my first time getting a haircut in David’s Barbershop. My previous barber had to shutdown his business due to corona. My first experience at this barber shop was amazing. I wish I found this barbershop earlier. It’s very affordable and even though It was my first time, they treated me like any other customer. I had my cut done by Alex, by far the most professional barber I have experienced. I’m usually picky with my hair styles but he is the only one that’s able to perfect my cut exactly how I want it. I will definitely be a loyal customer and bring my kids here as well, I highly recommend this business.

This is the best Barber shop in all of Manhattan. All the barbers are great but Alex is the one who made my hair look superb. Love the atmosphere here. Will recommend to anyone!

Best Barbershop in NYC! I literally reside in East Harlem but I always take my car and do the 15 min drive to there guys cause they always provide excellent customer service since the first time I walked in 1 year ago! The wait isn’t bad but then again that lets you know how many people trust them and are willing to wait for them for their haircut!

I’ve been coming to this place for 5+ years and it’s always been a great cut no matter if I’m keeping my hair long or getting a short fade. I’m now traveling all the way from the West Village just to come here and it’s definitely worth it. Awesome people, consistently great haircuts.

Shaun gives amazing cuts and treats you like a 5-year regular customer after your first visit. Alex and Joe are also very good. Can’t recommend enough!

Do not come here if you are looking for a quality haircut. I heard that Shaun was the best. I asked him to give me a trim, shape up, and make my sideburns look presentable. He was unable to do so after four tries. Three very simple things even first year barbers should be able to do. When I came back to have him fix his mistake, he refused and had the nerve to tell me that he would charge me again for another haircut. Is this how you treat customers? He was more concerned about getting me out of the chair and taking my money than actually doing a good job. Horrible service. You get what you pay for. Go to Cutting Edge barber shop on 88th and 2nd instead and ask for Arthur. Nicer barber shop, better quality haircut, appointment based so no wait.

I've been getting my hair cut here by Shawn for almost 5 years now. I'm currently a sophomore in college out of state but I refuse to let anyone else cut my hair, despite not coming home often during the school year. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

This review is long overdo. To keep it short; I came to David’s Barber Shop after another local guy completely screwed up my hair. I chose this barbershop after reading the rave reviews and decided Shawn was the guy I needed to see. Not gonna lie, the fact that it was such a great price AND that he had cut hair for a few of the Yankees players didn’t hurt. I started coming solely to Shawn about 14 months ago; a strong testament to his ability in his craft. I have seen great work from the other guys as well and, honestly, would feel completely comfortable having one of them cut my hair should I visit on a day when Shawn isn’t in. Do yourself a favor and switch barbers, you won’t be disappointed. And tip your damn barber! If this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that nothing is guaranteed. We take the smallest things for granted. Show some appreciation.

I’ve moved from the UES and I still drive in only to get my hair cut by Shawn. His cuts are clean, consistent and always looks good. Highly recommend them to anyone who wants a great style and a friendly barbershop atmosphere.

Old school NYC barbershop that I don’t mind trekking for an hour each time I need a fresh cut. Shawn and crew keep the line of regulars and walk-ins moving at a steady pace, but you never feel rushed in there.

Highly recommended. I moved to NYC almost 5 years ago and this family owned business is the only place I have ever needed to go for my haircuts. They are incredibly knowledgeable on all hair styles but they hands down give the best fades in NYC. I usually go to Sean for my haircuts.

I always get a solid cut at David's. The barbers are good guys and friendly, but get that sometimes I just want my hair cut without talking and will do the deed in silence. I like that.

Great barber. Shawn is extremely skilled, efficient, thorough, versatile and always friendly. Plus, everything is exceedingly reasonably priced (better cuts than places charging triple the price). Unsurprisingly, he nailed the cut for my wedding when I needed everything to look extra sharp.
