Received a "gift card" for $100 in the mail. Lots of information on the mailer, but nothing about any restrictions on using the card. A full oil change and the works advertised for $99. So it seemed like a great deal to use the gift card. When I got there, the service clerk pointed to tiny print on the back of the card that said that only $25 could be applied to any one service. Once again the Colonial, now Curry, dealership roped me in with a bait and switch. This is truly the last time I will have any business dealings with them.

I love the Sales and Service teams at Curry Subaru. Tina and Ellen in Service.are amazingly helpful.

My experience was very pleasant with Dave Smith. Although most of the dealing was online and text. On the day I took ownership Dave came in on his day off and made sure everything went smoothly and I learned as much about my new vehicle as he could tell me.

Without going into the whole thing, I was facing a rock or a hard place with my vehicle. I had scheduled a test drive and kept that appointment mostly out of politeness. Dave Smith was who I met with - he set me up with a test drive and then made Christmas magic happen with my vehicle. Needless to say, I’m confident that 99% of dealerships and sales personnel would not have gone the extra mile like Dave did for me. I 100% recommend going to Curry and my only regret is that I haven’t done business with them before now. I will be going back not only for servicing but also for any future vehicles. I’m Subaru for life and this is my dealer. That’s the strength of quality, and genuine, customer service.

I really appreciate the service at Colonial, and I love the 2014 Forester I bought there from David Smith, who’s been nothing but helpful & generous since, throughout the 9 years I’ve had it. Ellen is a joy at the service desk, Tina too. I’ve only put 8K miles on it in 9 years so I’m a little sad that the steering wheel leather is peeling off, for a couple years now. I have to park in my driveway but it only gets direct sunlight for, at most, 1/2 hour a day. The paint has remained impervious to sunlight and looks brand new to this day. It still drives like a new car, I love the eyesight and driver assist features; they’ve helped me avert a few situations I know would’ve included me on the side of the road exchanging insurance information, if not being carted to the ER, if not something much worse. I’ve been there; Subaru has seen to it I haven’t been back.
I look forward to upgrading to an EV when Subaru makes one I like, and I’ll definitely be buying it from David Smith at Colonial Subaru in Kingston, NY.

All I wanted to do is look at near-new pre-owned Subarus and compare prices. You can’t get a price without speaking with someone. You need to fill out a form with your personal information, including contact number. This is too much work to get a price. The result is that I am no longer interested in a Suburu.

It was my first time bringing my 2021 Outback to Colonial Subaru for an oil change. Upon dropping off the car, a young man named Drake Grant had recommended tire rotation but wasn’t pushy about it. I agreed.
My car was ready in the time frame he’d estimated and the check out was simple. Small waiting rooms for customers but drinks and snacks offered were nice. Bathroom was clean. I’d come back here again rather than drive all the way to Wappinger Falls.

I bought my Forester from them and have all my service performed there. They have always been upfront and honest in the service department. Their waiting room is very comfortable with nice amenities. Service is professionally done and I have never had to return to get it fixed after it's been fixed. The staff is friendly and very charming. They are the best.

Phil did a phenomenal job getting me my 2022 WRX and explaining all the options and features, in spite of the production delays on the cars. He was very honest and approachable about all the behind the scenes challenges of car buying these days, and he helped me pick up the car very last minute. I'm beyond thrilled to have my new Subaru. Very reliable service and expertise. I know that if I always get my car serviced by them, it’s performed ethically and with care. They need improvement on their detailed servicing explanations but will rectify and give you clarification if needed.

This was hands down the best car purchase experience I ever had. Matt Smith was a pleasure to work with. There were no hassles, everything was completely above board. Subaru Dave Smith is a hell of a great guy, wonderful experience. He sold my grandparents their first Subaru in 1985. My ex wife bought a legacy wagon from Colonial in 08 and that car lasted her 10 years and 250k miles, and now my son is getting his first car from Colonial. Glad to do business with you again

Rob D.was excellent and made my car-buying experience the simplest it ever has been. He very patiently answered my questions, was thorough and detail-oriented with all the paperwork to ensure all was in order, and was straight to the point with numbers and details.

With the shortage of vehicles and the Capital Region having no inventory of the Legacy I was looking to get, this was so worth the hour or so drive.

Would highly recommend this dealership!

Very friendly, courteous service desk staff. They review with you why the car is in for service, asks if you have any other concerns and also provides an estimate. 2 waiting rooms is a plus, one requires mask, the other does not. Waiting areas are extremely clean and comfortable.
Upon completion, an explanation of my car’s service was fully explained to me. Excellent service! They care and it shows!

My husband and I have spent almost six years patronizing this place with an aging Subaru that by now must have cost $2 per mile driven. Staff seems nice, but the place is a shambles, and I have come to understand why our Subaru pals take their cars to local garages or to Subaru in Rhinebeck.
Just in 2021: We came here in April to get the tires switched seasonally, then barely made it to a garage near our house to get a big problem with the rear axle fixed; dunno how Colonial missed all that moolah, but it was a dangerous ride! Recently, the dashboard light alarm indicators were ALL on for months and months, which we ignored. Finally, a local garage got them off, saying it's "just how Subarus are. " The alarm lights came back on two days ago as we awaited today's scheduled tire change and inspection at Colonial. When my husband showed up early this morning, he agreed to pay $150 for them to look into the dashboard alarm issue. After three hours, they told him they did NOT find a problem. (Colonial report/receipt reads: "tested system code p0302 inspected ignition components all ok cleared codes ran roughness monitor could not get vehicle to run rough or misfire. ") Our local garage was right! BUT we now have to drive 50 miles to be able to get the car inspected. Why didn't they warn about this at 9: 30 am when he showed up with alarm lights instead of charging $150 to achieve nothing and then suggesting at 12: 30 pm that he now needs to drive in circles and bring it back? Once those lights were on, it could not be inspected! (He has a job, will take it to a local station after covering the miles.)
Thankfully, we have extracted all of our tires and need not EVER visit this place again. Hey, did I mention the time our rear-view mirror fell off in the heat and they assured us they could fix it if we could get it to them—then achieved nothing and threatened to have the car towed if my husband did not come back quickly to remove it? (He was trying to find someone who would/could actually fix it, which took time.) Or that the Wi-Fi rarely works? Or that today it took two mentions to get the senior discount they have conveniently forgotten so many times?) Many thousands of dollars are down the drain, but at least we will never again experience the horrors of Colonial Subaru. That's a blissful thought.

Very nice people and very helpful both in Parts Dept & Service area. Fair pricing for a dealership and went out of their way to make an appointment that worked for my daughter who's in school in the area. Wished all dealerships were this straight forward and fair. No hesitations to use again.

I dealt with Phil the manager. I was referred to him by my sister who’s been using him for years. He listened to what my needs were. He even advised me to wait during the Summer when I came in because of all the parts shortages and told me I’d have a bigger selection to choose from if I could wait. How many sales people tell you to wait?

I was up from the city visiting my mother. While on the highway I noticed the car was pulling to the left. Within an hour they realigned my front wheels and the problem was fixed. I actually called colonial Subaru short notice but they still fit me in! Ellen, thank you so much for making me feel at home. Your hospitality and amazing attitude is enough to make some cry tears of joy. The rest the staff and mechanics are absolutely incredible! If I lived here I’d do all my service here. Thanks again!
