The walk is beautiful, there is no doubt that seeing the city from the water has its charm, but the day we went up it was quite cold and I only went outside a couple of times because it was really freezing and the boat windows were dirty, that It bothered me both to look at and to take photos. It is something that needs to be improved urgently. The man who was the guide made comments that I didn't like either.
Nice way to pass an hour. Unfortunately, you need to have upgraded tickets to access the top floor. We purchased the premium tickets at $40 per person and basically had the whole floor to ourselves. Bit disappointed that the purchase of these tickets did not allow for a premium access route, instead we had to queue up to access and leave the boat.
The cruise was nice. The tour guide was great and informative. The website showed a message that United Nations operations could affect the boat route, but was not clear on which days could be affected. We did not circle Manhattan fully, however this was due to the tides. I understand this happens 20% of the time. In order to avoid customers feeling that they did not receive what they paid for, the website needs to communicate that there is a 20% chance that the boat will not take the full trip around Manhattan and that the customer may not see all of the landmarks indicated on Circle Line's website.
Well worth taking the 2.5 hr cruise whilst in New York, unfortunately we couldn't do the usual cruise route due to restrictions because of the UN, but it was really enjoyable and informative and the tour guide was great. You can also get drinks and food at the bar whilst cruising which is a bonus.
This was a first class trip. Not the best of weather, so that slightly spoilt it. But the commentary and banter from the guide was good. The information was top class as well.
That was super nice and very informative. The tour in or on the ship lasts around 90 minutes. It leads at Hudson Yards over the Manhattan skyline with a view of Brooklyn and, last but not least, past Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty back to the pier. We recommend this excursion with the Sightseeing Pass (which is a great investment). You should book and plan this, as well as the entire trip to New York, at home because you need the time to shop and explore
I am writing to comment in Turkish. It might be the best activity you can do in New York. You have the chance to see all of New York, New Jersey and Brooklyn. Not to mention the statue of liberty. I recommend you spare an hour and a half and go on a boat tour.
The Circle Line offers various tours on the water. We did the big tour around Manhattan. In the first part, many impressive landmarks are visited. The second part, through the Harlem River, is a bit more monotonous, because the landscape and streets along the shore do not offer much variety.
After we boarded, only the windows facing the dock were clean. The ones on the opposite side were practically opaque from dried salt spray. Thus, the seating next to the clean windows was very limited. We couldn't find two that provided any kind of social distancing and wound up next to the foggy windows. The purpose of this cruise was sightseeing. You'd think providing clean windows would be a priority, but sadly, this was not the case. If you go, arrive early to be one of the first to board and grab seats on the dock side next to the clean windows.
Fun & informative tour narrated by an energetic & intelligent tour guide with a depth of historic knowledge and a passion for the great city. ~Clean boat & clean restrooms. Professional, pleasant staff. ~The many immigrants snapping photos of themselves against the city skyline or with Lady Liberty in the background remind us that NYC and America are beloved and important to many people. ~Definitely worth the price of the ticket.
Circle line Cruises were great. If you are visiting New York City and have the opportunity, do not pass this up. I'm sure all the guides are good, but David was fantastic. Entertaining and informative. What more can you ask for?
I went at night and despite the biting cold, the alcohol and warm drinks served on board were exactly what I needed to keep me going.
Have done this boat tours with multiple family members, best way to soak things in specially if mobility issues. Parking is also available though quiet expensive.
Great way to view the city! The boat is spacious enough to move around. They don't spend much time at each location. But it was good enough for the price I paid. They explain every stop along the way which is super helpful if you don't know the details about each location. I recommend if you have time on your trip and want to do a boat trip.
Harbor Lights Cruise - Beautiful evening activity to see NYC lights. Great views from all over the boat. Sitting on the left side (left when facing front of the boat) you get the first views at NYC while guide is explaining what you see. Then see NJ on way back. Both sides get great viewing time of Statue of Liberty. There is indoor and outdoor seating if weather isn't good.
Loved it. The guide pointed out some interesting things and then gave you some quiet time to really enjoy the beautiful night skyline. Everyone on the outside deck had the opportunity to take great photos from their seats. They even took you out to get close up photos of the statue of liberty at night. This is a must for a New York trip.
I took the 2 1/2 hour tour and OMG what a good time we had. Circle line Boat Tours was even cheaper than the Bus Tours being offered outside of our Hotel. I highly recommend everyone experience a Circle Line Boat tour.
Staff is really good and informative tour we took 1: 30pm it was 2 and half hour tour they will take all the way to Hudson River east river and Harlem river good narration during entire tour
We took the city your of NYC and loved it! We got an amazing view of the Statue of Liberty. The guide was very informative and knew a lot about the city. It was a great time!
Outstanding way to spend my first evening in New York (Harbor Lights Cruise)! The weather was perfect for a two hour cruise around the tip of Manhattan and back. The live audio commentary was great, and the views fantastic. They specifically ended the cruise at sunset up close to the Statue of Liberty. I did not buy and food or drink, but both were available for purchase. Definitely recommend this tour!
The development that took place in that area is phenomenal. The vessel I went on is the Shark. You are out for a fun ride. Be prepared to be splashed, which was the best part for me. It's an experience which is one of a kind. Go experience it yourself.
Perfect sightseeing experience! No Yankee stadium due to the tide but that couldn't be helped so we saw other things, wonderful guide with great humor.
Overall good experience. Can't hear the announcements clearly on the deck and there was a huge line for the drinks.overall the cruise began on time and was back on time.
Absolute highlight of our trip! Daughter's first time here and we wanted to make it special. They were fantastic hosts and did an excellent job keeping a full boat entertained throughout the tour. The stop with the statue of liberty lit up made it all worth it. Fantastic views!
