I really love this store! It’s clean, organized, and it gives off a breath of fresh air vibe. But there was this one staff, I don’t remember her name or how she looked but, my today’s visit wasn't very pleasing on how I wanted it to be. She acted so clueless, she gave me the wrong shoes I asked for the Pirouette II but found out I actually bought the Hanami Pirouette. That really isn’t a big deal, but how she presented herself. She looked very tired, annoyed when I was trying on my shoes which made me feel uncomfortable and rushed. She started commenting saying that is it my first time getting shoes in a rude tone and how she thinks i'm a beginner dancer which I found really disrespectful, she gave off rude faces when I was with my friend because I was also trying out other shoes. And the ending of it all, the purchasing process is way too long, I stood there for 10 minutes because of an email I had to give. I just want to buy my dance wear and LEAVE.

We’ve tried with multiple places to get pair of pointe shoes in NYC but this location was the first time that fitter showed up late but then rushed my daughter to decided or told us “go somewhere else. ”
We made an appointment of the phone week ago and we were on time.
The fitter came late about 10min and she was in rushed because she has an another appointment after my daughter.
The whole situation doesn’t make sense at all.

Randomly saw the sign of the shop while strolling through town on vacation. The entrance is somewhat hidden. The offer is great and made for a nice holiday souvenir.

Store for dancers, professionals and amateurs. All type of dance like a clasical ballet, tap, modern even a ritmical gimanstic. Good atention for the sellers

Nice store. My daughter needed a new pair of jazz shoes quick and they're right up the road from the hotel. Staff was friendly.

The three stars are completely for Darnell who assisted me and my children with patience and care.

The other two stars are lost on one of the other reps whose name I didn’t remember to get: short, petite, blond hair, and an unfortunate grimace. She was completely unwelcoming and when I asked about the difference between the types of tights, she just pointed and said they are what they say.

Her energy was off putting and made me leave the store thinking, I’d rather shop online and/or with another store brand completely. Quality customer service/care is fundamental and it was lacking with this rep on the evening of 6/28/23 around 6: 30 PM.

Buckle up for this story! It’s long and pretty crazy, if you ask me.
I was in the city and figured I’d have my daughter try a pair of Capezio shoes that she plans to eventually order, while we were there. She had a previous pair that we ordered through our instructor, but they were very hard to get correctly fitted from a distance. It ended in us having to have them stretched and all the rest. We weren’t ready to order yet, but since we were in the city and knew we wouldn’t be there again any time soon, I figured we could just go in and get her sized while we were in the area. This way we could know her size for sure, for when we ARE ready to order.
The shoes we need are custom orders and run upwards of $650, so having the correct fit is very important. So I went in and asked about a fitting. Before anyone would even see me, they said they needed to make sure that I would be ordering the shoes through them. I explained that I wasn’t planning to order anything today, because we do not yet have her next costume planned, which would impact the order as far as colors, etc. But I would be ordering as soon as that was settled. They then demanded to know who she ordered her previous pair from, and if I could guarantee it was through their store. But bc it went through her instructor and I wasn’t involved in that part of it, I couldn’t say for sure. Of course, I suppose I could’ve lied, but I was just being honest that I had no idea what the process was. I just helped pick the colors, and paid!

So. Because if this, and the fact that I wasn’t ordering that day, they refused to help us. They said the sizing process was too much work not to be “guaranteed” the sale. Mind you, I also can’t say for sure that it WASN’T through their store. But she refused to size us without that guarantee. Her recommendation was to order several sizes of the non-custom bases they use to make the custom pairs, return them, and order her customs based on that. I asked if I could at least do that part at the store, (just try on different base sizes) rather than having the more involved custom fitting. She still said no, bc again, they couldn’t guarantee I would buy from them in the long run. So my daughter basically wasn’t allowed to try anything on without a guaranteed purchase.

Even if the manager was wanting to protect her business by not wanting to do the more involved fitting, to not even let my daughter try on the non-custom pairs for size seemed crazy to me. Especially bc it was totally possible my instructor DID order through them. But bc I couldn’t prove it, she wouldn’t help us. This definitely made me NEVER want to purchase anything through them. And by the way. The store was empty. No one was in there but us. It’s not like I asked for a fitting while they were packed. I found this extremely off-putting, and it made me feel like I was doing something wrong or shady by simply asking about the shoes. How can you refuse to even let someone see how the shoes feel just bc they aren’t guaranteed to purchase the shoe in the end? That’s a lot of sales pressure. I’ve never felt so “in the wrong” for what I assumed was just a totally normal request. To me, this is like a car salesman saying he won’t take you on a test drive unless you’re definitely going to buy the car… because it’s just too much work and you might go to another dealership in the end.
Can you imagine a car salesman doing that? ! I sure can’t. This felt no different.

I rarely write poor reviews but I ordered a pair of fishnets online and needed to exchange them for a larger size. I have the receipt and all the OG packaging, they’re not worn at all as they don’t fit.

When I traveled into Manhattan and to the Capezio Flagship store I asked for help from the woman at the register who told me that tights are final sale, to which I replied I had previously and successfully exchanged another pair of tights online. I was told that online policies are different…Okay, sure I get it, maybe I didn’t read the fine print- but to simply say NO and not work towards some kind of solution is unprofessional and frankly disappointing.

Will be sure to only use Capezios online services moving forward and I hope y’all learn about customer service

Such a fun store. I don’t get here often but when I do—such a treat. Bummed that you buy things here and they don’t say Thank you. Not the friendliest.

A beautiful store, though I was not there to see all the lovely dance togs. I was purchasing taps for shoes and the staff was very helpful and adept at selecting the right sizes and shapes for my shoes.
