Everyone whom I have dealt with in these past 6-7 years with Burke has been exceptional. It starts with customer service and everyone is always respectful over the phone. The entire team that comes for the oil delivery and servicing of the boiler is courteous and knowledgeable and we appreciate their hard work during the winter months. One of the technicians that came out 2-3 months ago, Matt, took care of the boiler and oil tank and was very impressed with his expertise. Today, Mark who has come out in the past as well, came for the inspection for the fill on my oil tank and again, was very professional and friendly, checked the oil tank and said everything is perfect for the next delivery and wished me Happy Holidays. The small things do count. My sincere advice is to join their membership plan and lock up a max fixed rate for your oil for 2 years and you simply can't go wrong with Burke Energy. Thank you!

Crooks when it comes to giving pricing for oil.they are more than $2 more than their competitors.when questioned why, they tell you we are a big company with a lot of overhead.they don't care about their customers just their profit margin

I’ve been calling and calling for 3 weeks to add additional services and no one calls back. The person who handles that department is always busy. How do you not call a current customer back who wants to do more business? Time to find a new company.

Three years ago, I had a new central air system installed by another company. Unfortunately, the guy didn’t install the system correctly and refused/couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I hired Burke to help. Gary, Tom and crew were extremely helpful in diagnosing and fixing the issue. First summer in years where the system is working correctly!

Brian (technician 63) was incredibly helpful and kind. He was very respectful of our house, and explained everything clearly which made it easy to understand (even for me who doesn't understand any of this stuff!). He was fast and clean with his work, and I would highly recommend you request him if he's available to help with your problems. Thank you, Brian! We greatly appreciate your help (Brian and Burke were also quick to respond as we called them the night before and Brian got here in the morning to help us).

Back in May I scheduled three cleanings for my properties for today June 15th between 8-12.

By 10 when no tech showed up, I called and was told the appts were for the afternoon. I said no, there were for the morning. They checked and said yes, but we’re rescheduled for the afternoon yesterday. I received no calls, emails, texts changing the appts. They said I was called. That is a lie.

Beware of this company. They think your time has no value. Time for me to change companies.

Do your homework. Burke Energy has the highest prices BY FAR! They tried to renew my 86 year old mothers contract @ $5.28 when the average was $3.50

Wish I could give them a zero. Although I was told I would pay market price under contract, was charged $5.949 per gallon today for heating oil while the five other local companies I called are charging their existing customers only $4.00 - $4.65 per gallon. I can only imagine how many other people are being taken advantage of. Makes me sick.

Unreasonable pricing. $1.50/gal over county average. I called and was told I pay more for the Burke brand which provides all these other services they offer. None of which I use- or come free. Was forced to Burke after they took over a small local oil company and downhill from there. I switched back to a new local company until Burke acquires them too. Unless their oil uses less in my burner there is no reason to gouge the already inflated prices to pay for corporate subsidies.

Got a surprise delivery of oil today from Burke / Sclafani which was $5.45 per gal when every other company around here is at $3.60. Beware of Burke! Also Customer service left us on hold for 1/2 hour when we want to ask about the crazy pricing.

Bought into an oil contract, locked in at $5.45 per gallon and was told by the sales rep that when heating oil prices dropped I would get the discounted price. Well, heating oil was down to $3.82 per gallon on December 4,2022. Burke delivered oil to me on 12/23 and charged $5.45 per gallon! When I called to complain, I was told "You get the lowest price BURKE offers, NOT THE MARKET PRICE! " The sales representative NEVER stated that is how it works! I would've never taken that contract. Oil can drop to $2 per gallon, but BURKE can still charge you $5.45 because that's the lowest price THEY offer! They don't tell you that, their sales person is very deceitful. And you can't even get out of the contract because of their horrendous termination fee! Stay far away!

I received a delivery I didn't order. After telling the customer service I would like to schedule the delivery myself she transferred me to the COD, but when I spoke to the person at COD she told me to contact Burke Energy. The customer service representative also agreed their price is much more expensive than other companies. The average price is around $4.25, they charge $6.

Been with Sclafani for 4.5 years, which was bought out by Burke. I was charged over $6 per gallon on 1/25/2023 by Burke.

My brother is with Action Fuel and paid $4.40 per gallon around the same time. The NY State average was $4.80 per gallon that week, based on NYSERDA's publishing.

That's an extra $200 per fill-up on a commodity and is a very basic example of price gouging.

This is the biggest scam oil company! I would like to give them negitave stars. I have been a customer for years. I had a service contract as well as oil delivery. They overcharged me for oil multiple times. Each time when i call them and tell them the current rates they always are willing to lower the price. I asked them to not deliver oil to my home without contacting me first to tell me the price. They come anyway and leave a bill in the mailbox with the highest price. When i call the say it was human error and try to sweet talk you. BE WARNED STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Out of nowhere and 2 days before Christmas, they tell us that our delivery is a 2 man job and wont deliver! Shocked and nearly out of oil before the holidays - beware, loyalty means NOTHING! THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS - NO WARNING, WILL JUST LEAVE YOU IN THE COLD. Not the end of this story for us!

Have been with Burke for several years but I am thinking of switching services. There are a lot of negative reviews about the less than ethical dealings with Burke and I'm beginning to experience them. First, I priced fixed my oil and was told the prices will drop with the market, they have not. I am currently paying well above market price. Second, my service contract was renewed without my authorization. The current price is very fair, but I should have been asked. Third, the customer service is poor. Expect to wait a long time on the phone and don't be surprised if you get a rude representative and your message goes unanswered. Some are nice. Fourth, in April Burke installed a new furnace and tank, and I had to have a fan-in-a-can installed per code. On Christmas eve I lost heat; the tech came and determined the fan-in-a-can was defective. He did not have the part with him, so he by-passed the unit and wrote on the service receipt that I would receive a follow-up call to fix the unit. I never received a call back. Two weeks later I called and left a message; three days after, my call was returned. I was told the fan was not covered under the service contract. Okay, so I asked if the unit had a warranty, since it was installed earlier in the year. When the representative returned I was told "no, because Burke did not install the fan-in-a-can". Please! They can't be this disorganized and incompetent, can they!? So, now I have to deal with this nonsense. There have been other minor things a long the way that further indicate the service is not what it should be.

Burke installed a new boiler the other day. My family is warm and happy now! Thank you for the professionalism, integrity, the patience and kindness. My representative Michael Carpenter and my installers (Jimmy, don & jay) were a pleasure to deal with, they were quite skilled. My basement was left extremely clean and upon completion of the job they explained everything from A-to-Z about the boiler. Highly recommend!

I recently switched to geothermal. After being a customer for 12 years, Burke imposed a termination fee when I canceled my delivery contract. Note I canceled in may after a full delivery. So cost them nothing. Rude representative and overall rude experience after doing my part to save the world. Get off oil but if you can’t use Robison’s. Much friendlier.

Prices for oil are much higher than NYS average and they increased my service contract over 25% this year and blamed it on inflation running under 8%. They offered to drop my service contract over $400 in 3 minutes on the phone. Were they thinking I wouldn't notice? Moved on to another company.

I was a Wilco customer for years and was very happy until Burke bought them. Now everything is overpriced, from the prices quoted for repairs to the price per gallon. I got a delivery of 600+ gallons a few days ago and was charged $6.99/gallon. Their tech was here a month ago for the preseason check and noted the level of the tank. They waited 4 weeks in a rising market to fill it, and then charged me 14% over the average price for Westchester County (according to the NYSERDA website that posts that information). I'll be looking for a different energy solution.

A few months ago, I was informed that as a "valued customer" I had been "promoted" to the concierge service. As a physician, I'm well aware that "concierge" pretty much means the consumer pays more and doesn't necessarily get more. A couple of months go by, and we noticed some junk mail envelopes from Harmony Concierge care, and tossed them. Turns out they were our oil bills! So now, having discovered we're 2 months in arrears, I called "Harmony" and was told in no uncertain terms there was nothing they could do, and that if I "wanted" I could call Burke. When I did - 4 times- each with a 15 or more minute hold, I was assured that I'd get the bill in the mail "in a day or so. " So far, no bill. Amazing how lax they are about $1500 bucks. This used to be a quality organization. Oh - and despite their reassurances, I continue to get multiple daily spam emails from Harmony Concierge. Watch Out!

My review is based off of my interactions in westchester NY with Chris Langanke and Sandra Marable. We just moved into our home and had a baby shortly after, so with all that we had to do and get done, Chris and Sandra made this easy to understand (we are first time home owners) and he was very helpful. Chris and Sandra went above and beyond and we’re quick to answer all (many) of my questions. Id recommend Burke over their competitors simply due to their awesome team (prices are good too).

Over priced. My wife ordered yesterday. Got delivered at $6.88 a gallon! Everyone else is around $5.50. Two People at my job both said burke very expensive and they are switching. I will never use burke again. I used scalfoni for years till burke bought them. I wish I could click zero stars. The driver was very good though

I’m so disappointed in Burke. I’ve been with Burke for 13 years and I’d called to renew my annual oil plan and lock my 2023 pricing. They quoted $400 for the plan and $6.07 per gallon for the delivered oil. My neighbor, who was a new customer to Burke, got a $219 annual maintenance program cost + $3.89 per gallon ON THE SAME DAY. I’d called to ask why, as a 13 year customer, they can’t get me close. Their response was utter nonsense. They escalated me to a variety of levels and after an hour and a half of being on hold (while they get me to the right person), I was told that they couldn’t do anything for me, and maybe I did have to leave. My jaw dropped. I use > 850 gallons per year, and it’s ridiculous for them to think that I’d pay a $2.18 premium on my oil (at least $1,600 per year) simply to enjoy staying their customer. And for the person to say: “Yeah, maybe you should leave” left me in shock. I’ve had their tech steal from me during a cleaning, which I’d caught on camera and Burke wouldn’t do anything about it. Stay away. This company doesn’t care about its customers.
