Literally the most expensive gas in America. Blatant price gouging. They even rip you off on air too. 7 dollars a gallon when it’s 3 and change everywhere else. Truly despicable.
Most expensive gasoline in the city (and possibly in the country). Total rip-off. Also charges 80c extra per gallon for credit card usage, so over 10 bucks for a tank full. Even bigger rip off. Avoid whenever possible!
Credit card price is almost a dollar more than cash price. Just gouging at this point- it’s only 3-5% everywhere else more for card (max) and they’re like 15-17% higher than their cash price. That isn’t “retail” price.
This station is a ripoff, prices are ridiculously high for gas. I guess since no competition around they feel like these prices are okay. These are the same people that polluted the ocean for months due to oil pipe disaster. Hope someone sees this and reports them for price gouging. Look how much they penalize you for using card versus cash. "CROOKS OF THE HIGHEST CALIBER"
Might be cheaper to fuel your car with champagne than going here… a great example of what happens when u allow a merchant corner the market (the only gas station for several miles)
Literally double the price of normal gas stations. I paid $13 for 2 gallons. These prices are not reflective of the market as the owner claims, they’re reflective of greed.
I filled up a full tank of gas, and the fuel that was provided for me was defective, and my car did not function after I left the gas station within 15 minutes Beware of this gas station it sells bad gas. You will ruin your car because of this gas station. Attached photo shows the inspection of the fuel and it confirms my comment.
Riverside fuel station in FDR service road near E 23rd Street and Avenue C. The have a convenience store but it is very small with limited items. Station is busy, price moderate. It needs improve in their convenience store. Service is good. River view in a good things for the customers
This travesty The price was exorbitant and indeed like a prior one star 1 patron the meter did not move & I put $20 and I got less than three and a half gallons, and when I drove to Brooklyn boarding the FDR drive South, adjacent this BP station, on E 16th streets and Ave C…. The meter stayed in the same position it was before I put in the $20 ️ gas, to and from Brooklyn. I live in Lower East Side on 13th and Ave B, not to far from the BP on FDR. I only went here because I didn’t want to risk going to Brooklyn on a quarter tank. But like I said my meter remained in the same quarter tank position, so perhaps maybe the meter is purposely not calibrated. So for my $20 I really only received $10 or maybe $13 worth of real gas ️…. Because the meter did not move….
This is a SCAM! Online it said one price you get to the gas station and it was double the price from Shell. I should have read the review before coming m.
The very definition of price gouging. It usually takes less than $30 to fill up my small Honda Fit. Here, the cost was almost double. If you desperately need fuel, get a few dollars worth and then drive yourself to a gas station outside Manhattan.
Updating with a reply to the "response from the owner" (which is apparently not the independent owner of the actual location) : Nothing in your response refutes my original review above. The independent owner/operator of this particular location has chosen to raise its prices well above what would be expected in this economy. The increase may not have reached the point of illegality, but it is still excessive and some would say unethical.
One of the best gas stations around. Prices are super cheap and the service is impeccable. Thankfully it’s one of the few gas stations around, because it’s all you’ll need. I’d be afraid that being one of the few stations in lower Manhattan would cause a monopoly leading to astronomical prices careless service and poor functioning equipment, but not here! 5 stars!
My friend was running low on fuel and due to the steep gas price, decided to get just enough fuel to get her home. We noticed that after pumping, her gas meter did not go up at all. She informed the staff and he gave a poor excuse saying since she got less than a gallon, the meter did/would not change right away and would subsequently go up after driving around for some time. We both had never heard of such a thing, so we were obliged to take his advice. Well after driving 12 miles, the gas meter did not change at all. It only changed after we pumped the same about if gas at another station. Now why is there a stark difference? 2430 FDR drive is scamming its customers. We noticed that other reviewers have mentioned similar stories. Lesson learned. Don’t come here!
The gas price here is super expensive. I only went because I wanted to fill my tank a little bit so I can get home and buy more gas around my area. My gas meter was reading "18" before I pumped the gas. I paid $5.30 with my card to pump gas and after I finished I turned the car on and put my foot on the gas pedal and I noticed that my gas meter did not change one bit. It was still reading "18. " I drove out the gas station, pass the red light and I drove back to the gas station and my gas meter still not change at all. I parked in from of the gas pump that I had just purchased the gas and I went to store window to complain to the staff that I paid for gas but no gas came out of their gas pump. I told him that my meter was at "18" prior and it is still reading "18 " even after I just paid and used their gas pump. The staff then told me that the gas that I purchased is less than one gallon and that I will not see any change. I told him that despite me buying less than a gallon of gas, I should still be able to see a small difference on my meter but instead my gas meter did not change at all. He told me that it might not change right away since it is a small amount and that I should drive it for some time. That explanation seemed very odd because it should not take long to see a change in the gas meter after pumping gas. But I left and got on the highway and reached my destination without the gas meter ever moving up. I then purchased gas from another place and my gas meter went straight up so I know that there is nothing wrong with my car. THIS PLACE IS REALLY ROBBING PEOPLE. OTHERS FROM PREVIOUS COMMENT HAVE SAID THE SAME THING. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF POSSIBLE.
Zero starts. Came for air and had no quarters. ATM was not connected to a network and they said it was my card. They were absolutely not helpful and had no customer service whatsoever. Do not come here. Also their gas prices are at least $1 more per gallon then everywhere else
Only come here if you're almost running out of gas. Fill up 3-5 gallons and run for your wallet. Last time I came to this spot it was over 5 bucks a gal. Right now might be around 6. Save yourself and fill up in Brooklyn away from the highways or Queen.
Since this is pretty much the only gas station in the area the prices are steep! My recent trip it was almost 6 dollars per gallon! Only come here if you not worry about the price or emergencies! The staff is very on and off.most are friendly.
This is one of the few gas stations on Manhattan, the prices are much higher than in the suburbs but that is to be expected. At the time I used this location to fill up my rental car, it was over 4 dollars per gallon for regular unleaded.
Insane prices. Should be illegal! Look at Gas Buddy and you'll see its way more expensive than any other place in the city. Thanks for the reply BP but thats BS!
Gas station by the east river, nice location. Only nearby gas station serving Downtown Manhattan and environs. The City keep losing its gas stations to high rise buildings. Thx goodness this is still standing. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you gas up
I've always had a lot of experience at the station in terms of customer service. While this is not the nearest thing to my house, I felt because of the respectful nature of the workers. This is why I keep coming back to get their service!
The gas station is highly recommended because it is always reliable, always on time, never surprised! For their services, they have a friendly price! They also have a small convenience open for all the drivers to eat. Keep up the good service!
All the customers at this gas station were accommodating. Social isolation was observed and a mask was worn for the protection of each client and employee. It was a fantastic service from this station, and I'm going to recommend it to my family and friends. Many gratitude to you!
NEVER GO TO THIS STATION. I hardly leave reviews but gotta say, during a pandemic they charge twice the price per gallon? ! In most parts of the city it's about $2 per gallon, and this place decided it was gonna be $4. Horrible business ripping people off, for what?
In responding to my needs, at this gas station was very prompt and detailed. They all wear their own smiles to greet you! There is a high quality of facilities available to them. Oh, good service!
THIEF THIEF THIEF! I fueled 2 gallons to my motorcyle and the gas pump show 2 gallon and right price, but when i look at the recepit a week later, it shows 4 gallons on it! My motorcyle does not have a 4 gallons tank!
Hard to get in & out of station. Prices were horrible. $3.99 self serve (which had a long line) $4.99 for full service. The guy didn't even clean the windshield. My friend had to clean them himself.
I literally was robbed. I had 38 mile range i purchased 1 gallon the guy pretended to pump the gas and ripped me off. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE THEIVES.when I called a few min later to ask why my range on miles didn't change i got a studering answer. DONT GO HERE THESE PEOPLE ROB YOU. I filled a complaint with the authorities
Why are the gas prices so high here? ! I ended paying at least 15 dollars more to full up my tank than usual. BP responds to complaints with this generic message: "Retail gasoline prices are not set by BP. Instead, they are a reflection of the current function of supply and demand and are ultimately set by the individual retail sites, which are independently owned and operated".
My question to you BP is why would you allow them to disgrace your name period? Great way to take advantage of being the closest gas station in the lower east side. Shame on you guys! SHAME!
I had $6 on me, it said $3.99 per gallon, when I pulled in the guy took my money and pretended to pump my gas. After he was done he came up to the window saying ok sir you're finished. My gas didn't even go up by 1 mile! And then the guy said to me oh sir it's $4.99. The crazy part is even if it WAS $4.99, my gas didn't go up AT ALL! Avoid this place, they're scheemers!
