Charged $10+ more than the amount we ordered, later found out on card bill. Shady practice.

Very few indoor seating for the winter, some of the collab events are cool, like Dave’s lesbian bar, but not an accessible entrance.

Great place to get beers, so many nooks and crannies and access to servers while seated is great (sometimes food is a little slow and non-ethnic dishes like burgers are bland).
Come for atmosphere and don’t regret it!

I didn’t realize they were open in the winter. I’ve only been in the summertime. Since they have a huge outdoor space, this was great.
- tables were really spread out. Tables weren't packed so people were really spread out
- everyone that wasn’t sitting down drinking wore a mask. The people working there wore the masks correctly which I greatly appreciate.
- tv on one side (I’m guessing they have games on).
- some tables had heat lamps and covers
- every other bathroom stall was closed to provide more distance.
- food was great. I had the cheeseburger with fries.
- beer was great. Great recommendation by waiter

Excellent service. Very professional and always mindful of social distancing. The was better than expected for a "bar". The pretzels are perfect and I loved the monster burger with portobello mushroom on it. The beer as always is great. They are family friendly so you can bring your kids.

Good beer selection. The bouncers and greeter at the door can use a lesson on social skills. The waiters make up for the apes at the door.

Chicken wings and fingers are crispy deliciousness. Avoid the ribs unless you want to waste your money and eat hastily boiled meat masked with bbq sauce.

It's not bad to visit with family or friends. I had the bratwurst, it kinda had a funky taste to it, and I also had the pretzel, nothing special and the wings were mediocre, they came cold to our table, no good. Plus they messed up the order a couple times while we were there. Gotta be on top of them cause they're so busy plus the waiters can be rude.

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. I got attitude from the server when I was told to stand and wait for the table to be cleaned. After she told us to sit down I said that the host told us to wait to be seated because he was going to clean the table. She continued to tell me that the table was cleaned and it was 300 years of “ stain” when you could see the table was wet and had food crumbs. She charged us for microwaved nasty cheese that did not come out of the tub if you flipped it up side down (I have a video if you want to see it) that we did not order with our pretzel. Honestly, if I never had to come here again I would not complain. There are 1000 better places in Astoria.

Unfortunately, tried to call multiple times with no answer then walked from Long Island city to find out once arriving they do not allow dogs. Considering every outdoor patio accepts dogs and we tried to call we don’t plan to go again.

Beer, atmosphere and food lovely as always! (Although please do me currywurst next time!) Also the massive security man was terrifying to our three year old - totally on board with COVID security but maybe try not to scare children.

Very disappointed saturday night after trying to make time to come here for weeks. Everyone seemed friendly even the front bouncer who is a very nice person until our server yelled at my brother for being slow. My brother has chronic health problems and was not able to focus. I couldn't believe how rude our server was Stefan. I was just amazed that he yelled at him. I didn't want to make a scene there. I highly recommend checking out radegast hall. You will be treated with respect by staff and you won't be treated as a second class citizen. In addition your server will not yell at you. You should put your hard earned money elsewhere. We felt very rushed by Stefan. He ruined our experience. I did speak to management about this and they are taking this very seriously.

Writing to combat Tony’s negative review. Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden is a phenomenal venue for all and any, and is quite frankly the best place to go out and socially distance in Astoria. Tony Spitz doesn’t know what he’s talking about and is probably upset one of the great looking wait staff didn’t give him the tip (maybe the shaft too). Five-star place, five-star service and five-star beer. No question about it, Tony was having a bad day. Take his review lightly if you choose to take it at all.

Kitchen staff were not wearing masks at all on 7/27 at around 5: 30 pm. State requires you to serve food with beverages.you comply. State also requires kitchen staff to wear masks. Please comply. Notified 311.

Great beer garden for nice spring/summer days. The Chech food is quite nice, and almost authentic, but be careful kitchen is closed on Monday & Tuesday and weekends before 3pm (they're not clear about that on their website). The downside is that the place is extremely packed on nice summer evenings and the service is slow. Also servers are not particularly nice.

Bought my first comic book here when it was just a flea market. Now it's been consumed with delicious ales and very above average food that I was certainly not expecting to be so good. Be careful though, pick the wrong person on the wrong night and you can consider your day ruined. Drink with caution.

We had our son’s birthday party at the beer garden and it was an awesome event. Having a 4 year old’s party at a beer garden might sound weird, but the place is super kid-friendly during the day. Our waiter, Ryan, was awesome and the manager on call was super organized and polite. I met my wife at the beer garden so it was a real pleasure celebrating our son’s birthday there! Thanks for being a great place!

The outdoor seating was amazing. Varieties of beer plus full bar on top of that snacks and some food options as well. There was happy hour as well although we werent there during happy hour. Bartenders and even security guards were super friendly and welcoming. The only reason to remove one star was when server closed our tab on the card that we just left at bar to open tab on. Without informing us brought the settled check in our table not asking for permission to use our credit card, which was not professional at all although server was cheerful and friendly. However will b back for sure.

Firstly, the security at the front was very friendly and had good energy. We all loved his vibe. First time here, very spacious and nice service. They have a friendly staff.
French fries was good. I love breaded French Fries. Loved the sausages. Must try. Grilled Andouille mix of beef and pork. Delicious. Grilled Klobasa pork was delicious too. Hamburger was average.
Weather was perfect to hangout in the garden. It Wasn’t too crowded for a weekday. Just right crowd.

Was it a little more enjoyable before it became a destination for people all over the city, nothing against non-Astorians, just that it’s now way more crowded on a regular basis than it was years ago? Yes. Is it still worth going and dealing with it being crowded, because the beer is great, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is delightful? Also yes.

Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden is a nice Czech beer garden in Astoria.

Service is polite and typically efficient.

The outdoor seating area itself is large and pleasant with many TVs and speakers. There is also a decent amount of large umbrellas that can cover maybe up to 6-8 people at a time during rain.

The food isn’t amazing but it’s solid. I klobasa (basically Czech kielbasa I take it) and the bratwurst were tasty. The fried pierogies also hit the spot.

It’s just a pleasant place overall. Recommended!

Seemed like a cool place for friends and families to hang out but definitely not a place for non drinkers. If you’re pregnant or your group’s DD, you won’t feel welcome here. I was with a group who all ordered drinks however since I wasn’t drinking, I went to get a coffee but couldn’t get back in. I either had to chug my coffee outside before I could go back in to hang out with my friends or go somewhere else. This place should have more non alcoholic drinks or allow outside beverages. Not your typical beer garden where you can bring snacks and have a picnic.

Other than that, the place has a ton of seating which does get filled up. I noticed the only area that had empty seats was the smoking area which surprised me that smoking sections still exist outside of Vegas.

Great place to drink good beer when the weather is nice. Plenty of tables in the garden but it does get very busy on Saturdays and Sundays when the weather is good. They often have live music on weekends in the summer. There is a stage and dancefloor in the middle of the yard. Servers roam around the tables and the food is very good, complimenting the beer. Smoked meats, pretzels, cheese, pickles, etc. TVs along the outer walls if there's a game on. Easy to lose track of time here after a few pitchers which is cool.

MAJOR EDIT: Changing this review from 5 stars down to 2. This establishment is in need of some major changes. It takes FOREVER to get served at the tables. The servers DISAPPEAR for long stretches of time and it's impossible to order anything when it's busy on a Saturday. They are clearly making enough money to hire more staff and to upgrade the facilities in order to take the pressure off the bar staff to fulfill table orders. Both paper towel dispensers in the men's room were empty for approximately 4 hours. The lack of oversight is embarrassing from a business standpoint. Saturdays at a beer garden are where you make your money so staff the place accordingly.

The atmosphere and beers are great but we waited a solid 45 minutes for a burger and brat. When we went up to the grill they hadn’t even put a burger on the grill yet. We ended up asking for a refund and leaving. I’m not sure where the breakdown was because it wasn’t even that busy and I’ve been there before with no issue.

Good selection of beers, off course, can't expect anything else from a Beer garden. Food is good, a mix of German and American. Service is not quite good outside, bartender was very slow, inside is a different story, but overall place is good. Perfect for after work on hot summer days.

This place is unique and way over delivers. We stumbled in during a Czech fest and had a great time. We met a few people but generally everyone kept to their own climate. Super fun and cool. Will go again.
18 July 2019 14:17
The atmosphere is great just plenty of TVs to watch your favorite sport. It's a great place to have a beer with family and friends. This place occasionally has live music and events at night. The only reason this place doesn't get five stars is because the outdoor bartender's attitude could be more friendly to put it politely.

Always a great spot to hang out with friends. This place is an icon within the community. There are always people here, but it's never too crowded thanks to their huge outdoor and indoor spaces.

The beer is good and food is pretty good, but it's not the really the reason you're coming here. You're coming to enjoy the people, spend time with friends and hang out.

I'm a little biased, as I grew up very near this place and also worked and met my wife there. It's changed quite a bit, mostly for the better. An outdoor tree lined private picnic area with excellent German and Czech beers on tap, and very decent food as well. I love the Kielbasi, and the pork schnitzel especially!

I went on a beautiful Sunday with my wife and two daughters (3 yr and 3 month old). We were able to get a table outside without a problem and the umbrellas were great for shade. A waitress took our food and drink orders and we didn't have to wait long. The french fries, chicken fingers and sausage was good for the price. I love the beer selection though and $18 pitchers are a big plus. My 3 yr old was also able to run around and even made a friend as many parents had brought their kids. Overall a great afternoon!

We have just been there, it was crowded, it was good in the beginning until one floor manager went overboard at me about not to be served on the floor where I was because they dont have enough servers. He said they couldnt cater for 8000 people but we were all allowed to be there. However other servers where getting orders from other clients where I was. I dont know if its because Im a filipina or what but the white lady beside me got her order and wasnt told off. They tried to accomodate everybody in a very rude manner. And that precise man was not courteous at all, for sure he doesnt know how to handle a client. Great place when its not crowded, we are just very dissapointed with the treatment.
