When I initially purchased my truck I was well received and taken care of from start to finish. It was the first smoothest, hassle free vehicle purchase I’ve ever had. I will happily recommend supporting small town/local businesses.

I requested a brake monitoring sensor be reset and all the technician did was shut the monitoring system off in my trucks menu so the alert didn't pop up once the vehicle was started. Also my truck has been serviced regularly at this dealership and never any comment of needing brakes now after my latest appointment it all of a sudden needs just rear brakes. I will be going for a second opinion and I will have the sensor replaced and reset by another dealership. I also started seeing signs of things changing for the worst when i requested and four wheel alignment and scheduled the appointment way in adavance, then my truck was dropped off a day early and still never received an alignment so i had it done elsewhere. I bought three vehicles from this dealership not because or price but because they had great service, but now I will be very hesitant buying anything else being my last three service appointments have been a terrible.

I had body work done on my 2024 Silverado 3500 after a run in with a guardrail. The damage was more extensive than originally thought and estimated. Joe Thacker and his crew in the body shop went over and above to get the repairs scheduled in a timely manner, deal with my insurance company, and keep me informed of the progress being made. The work looks good. I am very thankful for their professionalism.

I have been going to Mort Backus and Sons now Bill Rapp Chevrolet for over 40 years and have bought almost all my cars there and have had them serviced there. I have always got excellent service and the staff are above and beyond friendly with me. This time when I had my appointment, they did not have scheduled in their calendar and I had it on my phone as a reminder for that day. Apparently, one of the service men did not put in the calendar. Mike, the service manager got me in right away and I appreciate this. All, in all, I still like going to Bill Rapp for my service and automobile needs. Thank you.

Had issue with my truck afternoon before leaving on an very important early morning trip. Service crew, Ken and Paul got me in quickly. The mechanic stayed late that night to complete my repair and my truck was ready early next morning. That's customer service.

Last week marked the third time that I drove several hundred miles to bring my car to Pete Backus for help. It also marks the third time that I have been so moved by the exceptional customer service I received from Pete and his team that I feel compelled to tell as many people as possible about this incredible experience.

I was preparing to leave for a cross-country trip, and I began hearing an odd sound from my left front wheel. I called Bill Rapp Chevrolet of Ogdensburg (which I had known as Mort Backus and Sons, Inc.) and asked if there was any way they could take a look at my vehicle the next day, before I was set to leave on my trip. I knew it was a longshot, but my first pleasant surprise came when they said, "Sure! Bring your car on over, and we'll see where we can fit you in! " That friendly, amenable, open kindness is rare in the auto industry, but par for the course here.

When I brought my car in, I was greeted with cheer by folks at the front desk, and when Pete saw me, he immediately offered to hop in the car with me to see if we could determine the problem together. As a female, it's rare to be treated with that level of respect and attention in this industry (and, in fact, the last time I brought my car to a different mechanic out of geographic necessity, I was told I was imagining the sound). Pete quickly identified the problem, and then took the time to teach me about the issue and explain how the problem had developed so that I could avoid it in the future.

When we returned to the shop, Pete walked me through both the cost and the wait time I could expect. Given their kindness in working me in that day, I happily settled in for the wait. But a few minutes later, I was met with a second kind surprise: Pete offered me the opportunity to borrow a loaner to get where I needed to go that day. For free.

Fast forward to the end of the day. I receive a call that my car is ready several hours earlier than I had anticipated, but I'm encouraged to take the time I need to come collect the car. When I arrive, Pete informs me that he's charging me half of his predicted fee and walks me through all the aspects of the bill. When was the last time you were charged HALF of what a mechanic said you would be charged? Every other mechanic I have ever been to has "found" extra things to charge me for. Only with Pete am I certain that I will be charged both fairly and kindly for the excellent services he offers.

Bottom line: I'm moving to a different state, but I'll be crossing many state lines to bring my car back to Pete Backus in the future, regardless of where I live. He's that good, and he's that kind. Look no further folks, this is the place to go.

Edited 1/16/2023 to add: I am true to my word, and this time, I drove 3,000 miles to work with Pete to trade out my leased vehicle and enter into a new contract with him again. It was worth EVERY SINGLE MILE. Pete's incredible customer service, unparalleled industry-know how, and genuine kindness is unlike anything I have ever experienced in this industry or any other. If you're lucky enough to live in the North Country, I can't recommend Pete enough. If you don't call the North Country your home, I still can't recommend Pete enough. Drive however far you have to in order to work with him. It will be worth every mile.

Pete Backus is a true professional. No matter how busy he is, he always makes you feel like you are the most important person. Always takes care of his customers… he’s the best

It's always a pleasant friendly experience at this location. They have all the conveniences a waiting customer could want in a comfortable atmosphere.

Never have any issues with the service department here. They are well qualified service people who know what they're doing. Always polite and knowledgeable. Not overpriced for service either. Very reliable. Only problem is, it can take awhile to get your car in for service

I came in for a NYS Inspection, oil change and tire rotation. Chevrolet had sent me a $20 coupon for the oil change so it made it worthwhile to travel 90 miles round trip for the service where I bought the vehicle. Everything was completed in a reasonable time frame and the bill was lower than I expected so I was very happy.

Very very happy with the. Sales staff at Bill Rapp Chevrolet. Everyone was friendly and informative and there was no sales pressure.
