Paid off my account closed account. They hit my credit for $1 without any explanation. Every customer service agent is confused about what happened. No solution.
This bank has changed. You would be on hold for no more than 2 minutes, now anytime you call, morning, afternoon, or any day of the week, you wait more than 25 minutes for someone to answer and help you. Yes you can use the automatic call back feature but what good does that do?
They call you an hour later and you are now working and you do not have time to answer. You are supposed to get help within 5 min which is a reasonable timeframe, not 25. Does this bank make enough money? I want to believe so, and if yes, why are they not employing more people, work force?
I have been a member of BFCU for many years. I have done all my major banking with them during this time, and I've never regretted it. The Customer Service Reps are top notch! They have always been knowledgeable and pleasant. I am a senior citizen and I am pleased to say that the reps are patient with me. I highly recommend this Financial Institution. James Kerr
They helped deal dash steal money out of my account for a bogus purchase I never bought nor received Then, when I told them to restrict deal dash from removing any additional monies from my accounts they told me they have no way to do that?
NEVER buy or lease a car if the dealer uses this bank. I've been trying to set up my direct payment with them for 5 months now and put on hold for hours and have to speak to 10 different people that still cant figure it out. They are the most incompetent people I've ever dealt with.
The worst institution I've ever dealt with in my life take my advice and run they will charge they charge you fees out the nose for absolutely no reason! Even if your card was compromised they still charge you overdraft fees and refused to refund it even after the investigation is complete and they see that your card is compromised they still charge you the fees and in times like this when family need their money that's the worst thing to do! This place have Shady business practices stay clear! I want all my accounts clothes I will stick with Chase are reputable banking Institution
Worst bank. Chase is 10x better. My card was compromised they sugested to move my money to saving account. Then auto payments were dumped and i was charged by both bank and servicer. Poor business practices
Beyond Disgusted! They are now charging a 5% Fee to Members to count/ deposit their change! My son went to cash in his change and they took 5% from him and tried to justify it by stating the machines are costing too much money to repair when they Break I think that they should eat the repairs and write them off as cost of doing business expense
Zero Stars. Good luck getting anywhere with customer support. On the phone over an hour speaking to two different people that are unable to resolve the account balance issue only to get disconnected. No, they did not call me back.
I do not recommend doing business with Beth-page.
If you do look forward to these issues. 1- Making loan payments form outside accounts. 2- Getting money into your checking and saving accounts form outside accounts. You have to write check to yourself and deposit it thought the app. I am not close to branch. 3- Upon paying off your loan the account ledger apparently stops working. Balance will show zero but you actually still owe the final interest. Yes, of course but they do not send out statements so online is the only way to view your balance. Which in my case says zero for well over a month. They don’t know why it shows zero and will just place you on hold and give you the run around for over an hour until they just hang up or disconnect you.
Stay for away. It’s not worth the frustration of dealing with them.
Bethpage Federal Credit Union has very bad practices. They charges your saving account with Inactive Account fees without sending any official letter just to make money from customer without providing any services. The bank don't send letter before starting charging your account. Totally cheap bank!
WARNING: The worst credit union I have ever dealt with. I have been a long time customer of theirs for nearly 20 years now. I requested multiple times to have something as simple as a debit card sent to me. I have no access to my money. I was promised by two managers that the debit card would be overnighted to me. Absolutely nothing. I was promised that they would follow up with me with a tracking number. Again, nothing. No calls. No contact. Nothing. I left multiple messages for one of the managers and I was completely ignored. I was then told to make a phone appt with one of the branches since I reside out of state, so I did. They have not called me. No contact. Nothing yet again, and this even with a so called phone appt. Horrible organization. I'm not sure how they stay in business with such poor customer service with their continuous lie after lie to customers. With all the competitors out there, I would not recommend doing any business with this credit union. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and by far the WORST I have ever seen. You have to wait hours on the phone to only get no where. Keep your money in a reliable organization. Go elsewhere to do your banking. Trust me. I would give zero stars if I was able to. Again, the worst credit union I have ever dealt with. You've been warned.

I'm done with meaningless interactions with individuals that simply pacify the customer to get them off the phone and could care less. Your managers are worthless.
This is maybe the worst organization I have ever dealt with in any industry. After having three months to close the loan, they were still asking me for new information the DAY OF CLOSE - all very basic and easy stuff that could have been done months prior. After that, I accidentally double paid my first mortgage payment because the first payment did not show up as completed. They assured me the duplicate payment could not be refunded, but that it would be applied to my next payment. That was fine with me. Instead, they put it in a Bethpage savings account, did not apply it to the payment, and hit me with a late charge. Yes, they hit me with a late charge for something I paid one month early. Once I challenged them on all of this, they provided some nonsense response and would not accept any responsibility.
I’ve banked with Bethpage for 25 years. I have a mortgage with them which was processed exceptionally well. Staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. Applied for personal loan online which couldn’t have been easier.
I’ve been with the credit union for 40 years when I worked for Grumman and never had any issues and I will continue to use them for the rest of my life.
Overdraft fee eater, horrible bank good luck if you open account with them, it never going to reachable if something went wrong with card.totally horrible bank.
Worst credit union which requires more complicated rules and regulations than normal bank, if you expect anything go with in bank you are wrong, stay way from this bank and avoid troubles. Don't waste your time.
Good for checking interest rates, bad for business transactions.you can’t send a wire over 10k without going into a branch, and even when you try to do from your computer or app, it doesn’t go through and you have to go to a branch, anyway. I have to go to another bank to open another business checking account for easier wire transfers.
This bank is pretty much trash, most of the people who work here can’t get hired at a real bank. If you ever get fraudulent charges, they will take the criminals side. This place is worse than Biden.
Bought out my lease with them and it has been a headache getting the title from their titles department/lease dept. Called multiple times been transferred and bounced around told they are taking care of it. 4 months later I still have no title and now I'm getting letters from Bethpage that I need get the documents together to perfect the lien. All that is missing is the title which I still do not have. I even went to the DMV and wasted my time as they said all that is missing is the title. When I call they only have a record of one of my phone calls when in fact I have called 8 times since January to May. So very incompetent and frustrating I will never take out any loan with them again. RUN from this place they clearly do not get things done here.
RUN FROM THIS INSTITUTION! BFCU does not care how much of your time they waste. Cust Svce just transferred me 5 times. All five reps couldnt help me transfer money from my BFCU business checking to my BFCU personal checking. Most of the customer service reps sound so far away or muffled that you cant hear them anyway. I gave up talking to anyone live, and tried the TelService. After entering my SS# and pin, it started listing account numbers I don't own for me to transfer money into and out of. Using the BFCU credit card is a nightmare too. They never send a statement on time (or at all, some months) so you have to track them down each month to find out how much to pay. I am currently seeking a new credit union to put all my money and just canceled my credit card with them.
I spoke with a manager today who was 100% inappropriate! I moved out of State, & he decided to close out my accounts without my permission after we spoke out of spite because I told him how unacceptable his behavior was. Find a different Credit Union to trust with your money!
The new automated phone system is stupid and confusing. Whose horrible idea was this? There was nothing wrong with the old system. There is a delay in the information relay which can be very misleading with regard to balances.
This number does not work because I call and ask for all the information, I put it in and there is or does not put all the information that it asks for, it says that it is incorrect and then the call knocks me down and communication is impossible or you are ridículous
I have been with this bank over 12 years, never had any problems until I needed help with services. I paid off my mortgage and I am trying to get a satisfaction letter from them. But customer service is so bad; it takes me hours to get in touch with them over the phone (actually days) and they are still not helping me. The persons are rude and hang-up on me. I deal with other banks and never had such a problem. Right now I am on the phone with them, for over 10 minutes, and nobody assists me.
