BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP Paid 435 dollars for 18,000 miles service and they did not even top off the windshield wiper fluid. They are supposed to top off all fluids for service. Absolutely unacceptable. How do I trust anything they did to the car in the name of service when they could not even fill washer fluid or make sure the air pressure in the tires were adjusted. HORRIBLE and dishonest, this after buying 3 Subarus from this dealership.

Every time I come in, I am greeted with excellent service, kindness, and comfort in knowing my car is in the right hands. I wouldn't bring my car anywhere else. They were so kind as to keep my car overnight for a leak inspection because they knew it was going to rain, found no leak, and STILL did not charge me for investigating it despite putting labor into solving the problem. They have done this before and speaks to their compassion and care for their customers. I wanna give an extra special shout to to Anna! Girl, you are sweet, professional, and make a stressful situation as comfortable as it could possibly be. You're the best and I so appreciate you!

Bad experience as usual. These technicians are specialized in Subaru still takes already 2 days for p0400 egr a flow then still want more days and I was OK enough ask them to do wheel alignment only on phone. After get to dealer takes me hr then I wait at dealer for another 3hrs Atleast just for alignment service. Then she charged me 150 for incomplete diagnosis p0400 egr.plus 130 for alignment but they said n written on paper that wheel still veer on turning coz I've uneven tires. You guys shouldn't align if tires are bad in first place. What I called inexperienced or negligence. Next day I bought tires and alignment again at pep boys. Almost wipe 300 asss for nothing just wasting 2 days and 4 hrs. If guys have time and money for spared I recommend this dealer. You just wait wt more horrofic story. If u don't believe look more reviews on yelp. Beware

Beware of this dealership.

Think upcharge + fear tactics. Literally every time I’ve come in for a check up, oil change or repair- something new and incredibly expensive has come up and has been absolutely necessary to be fixed.

Well I am now about to fail my NYC inspections bc this fancy dealership forgot to put a caliper bolt back into the back brake- jeopardizing my family’s safety. And my front right axle Is leaking oil- which they did not alert would cause a failed inspection. They offered to reimburse the bolt, balked at the labor fee threw in a future oil change but of course only at the location. Can I get a refund? Sure but I have to drive an hour to get it. We don’t take credit card over the phone.

We have given them multiple chances, and they honestly failed each time. The people who work in reception at the service counter (including the manager in the office) are not helpful and not interested in customer service.

There used to be an employee who worked there that was amazing, so kind, and always helpful. Sabina was the only reason we kept giving them chances.

Here’s a small glimpse of the last year of our dealings with them:

One of our keys stopped working so we went in to get service. They diagnosed the problem, said we required a new key, and they ordered it and set up our next appointment to come back and have them set up the new key.

Mind you, this is a 45 min drive (on a good day) from our apartment. We get there for our follow-up appointment, and they had given away the key to another customer. Fine. Mistakes happen.

Not wanting to drive back again, we waited until it coincided with our next oil change. The extremely kind and helpful customer service person no longer worked there, so we had to go through all the explanations again. They PROMISED a key will be set aside for us.

We come for an oil change and to get the new key fab, they inform me they want to charge me $150 to diagnose the problem with the key again, even though they’ve already done that. The first question they also asked me was “Did you buy your car at this dealership? ” I said, “No, do I get a different level of service if I purchase it here? ” She avoided answering that question…. Which I suppose is an answer in itself. I spent a good 30 minutes explaining everything I was told the last time they diagnosed the issue with the key.

They also told me that they didn’t have my certified pre-owned warranty on file. They told me I needed to bring in proof or call the dealership where I purchased the car and have it sent to them. This was not my issue. They should’ve offered to do this, as it was an issue on their end if it wasn’t showing up in the Subaru database. I ended up calling the dealership where we purchased the car. THAT dealership was SUPER helpful, immediately dropping everything to help me get everything I needed. They also commented that the service people should’ve contacted them directly.

Well, it turns out the service person entered the wrong VIN. Didn’t bother checking. Didn’t apologize.

The manager comes out at this point after I ask again “why am I being charged the $150 for a problem you already diagnosed. ” Their answer was “we don’t have that on file. ” Again, not my issue.

I was initially told it would take 1.5-2hours. After 5 hours they finally finish up. They replaced the inside electric pice in the key (not the plastic casing, not the metal key part), at a cost of $250 + $150 to diagnose.

I know Subaru locations are limited in NYC, but I highly suggest going elsewhere……unless, you know, “you purchased your vehicle here…”

If this place could be rated zero stars I would gladly give it zero stars. Bay ridge Subaru messed up both my husbands car and my brothers car. Change parts that were not needed and now the car can barely go up a hill, begins shutting down electrically when in traffic and overall just in worse condition then when handed into bay ridge subaru. The workers there could care less and instead of helping out they laugh in your face. Their careless behavior was documented and a lawyer was contacted along with headquarters to let them know how incompetent the employees at bay ridge subaru are. Disgusting place, disgusting people. Shame on them.

I had such a great leasing experience with Bay Ridge Subaru. I usually get nervous and anxious whenever its time for a new lease because of all the back and forth I had in the past and spending so much time at the dealership. Chris made the whole process seamless and stress-free. Most of the communication and documentation was done online, which was a bonus for me. I was at the dealership for about an hour to sign paperwork before driving off. Mark was also so friendly and made the finance portion very smooth. This is my third lease overall and this was by far the best experience. My first time leasing with this dealership and would 100% lease again with them in the future. Thank you so much for a great experience!

I scheduled an appointment for an oil change for 9 AM. I showed up 8: 55 and a nice woman and gentleman greeted me and told me how long it would take to have it done. They gave me a timeframe as to how long it would take for the oil change, which I expected. I headed to the waiting area and in less than 35 minutes my oil change was complete. Very friendly staff and a great, quick experience. I always have a good experience whenever I come here.

Shout out to Raymond Duran, who facilitated our purchase at Bay Ridge Subaru. A very fine young man, professional but caring, understands the value in building long-term relationship. We went to make a purchase in a seller's market, so we knew what we were getting into, but I appreciate the price point we got, and the service they offered. Planned the day for window shopping, came back with a car - this should show the confidence we felt finalizing the purchase.

Subaru accent is a very good car but when I forgot the light on, I went to the service they told me the battery failed and it needs to be changed for 200+ then the young girl there told me there was a mistake and should be changed For 400+ and she didn’t add labor yet. I didn’t change it.too expensive.

Walked into Bay Ridge Subaru and within 30 seconds was connected with a salesperson eager to assist me. Chris was an absolute professional. At about 12: 15pm we walked into the dealership. We picked out a car, were instantly able to test drive it, and at about 1: 00pm were told the car would be ready to be picked up at 3pm. I’ve never experienced something so seamless and efficient. Chris was a pleasure to work with and since our experience I have recommend him to friends and family. I will not go elsewhere for vehicles from now on. Chris made lifelong customers out of us.

Bait and switch Dealer. Requested vehicle info online. Response from dealer with a text, vehicle not available. Was asked if i would be interested another model, Replied No. Only in that certain model. All well and good.
Next day i received an email, The model i was interested in WAS available. Plus, They have a few other cars of that model Available. Now the text i received prior, Stated that, They ONLY HAD THAT ONE CAR IN THE MODEL I REQUESTED. I was fine with them not have the model i requested. Then why do i receive an email from another sales person, Stating that they have, More of the model I'm interested with.
To me it sounds like a bait and switch deal. Either that or the sales people don't know what they have. YOU DECIDE.

I just love the relationship I have developed at the Bay Ridge with the staff, but especially with Cornelius Middleton! Our interaction began in 2018, when I contemplated leasing a Subaru, and continues to date. Mr. Middleton, although I sometimes call him Cornelius, is a professional, who is trustworthy, friendly, shows concern with how my Subaru Forester is operating, and he knows his job. I appreciate Cornelius very much and look forward to leasing my third Subaru in 2025, if the Lord says so. Thank you Cornelius Middleton! You are the Man!

I ordered a Subaru Forester through Bay Ridge and they honored they MSRP in these rough times which was great. The only issue was they would only give $100-200 for the car I was trading in, so I had to sell my other car separately making things inconvenient. I easily sold my car for 2.5K at another Subaru dealership. Bay Ridge never provided a good explanation of why they were only going to trade-in for such an insignificant amount.

Came here for a simple state inspection. Should have been easy. 1.5, maybe 2 hours Max. 2.5 hours in I ask for an update and they say “the inspection had to be restarted”. When I asked for clarity they said “it had to be restarted”. Finally just asked them to translate that into a time period and they said 10-15 minutes. 3 hours into my wait they inform me their “inspection machine” is broken? Their solution is “just leave” but my inspection expires in 2 days. Everyone is nice enough delivering really annoying news but I just can’t accept a 3 hour wait only to be told “go home” because they can’t perform a simple state inspection.

Brought my 2016 outback in for an oil change and tire rotation. The Subaru advisor I saw (Marc Dottavio) was terrific. He even gave me a coupon for a $20 discount. They even did a multi point inspection. I was shocked that they didn't try to sell me any unwanted or un needed services like many of the other dealer service centers. I'll go back.

Went in to look at new Subaru. They asked if i was going to buy today i told them no but soon and that i wanted to see what they would give for my 2014 outback. I noticed someone kept walking past us staring but didn't say anything.some 30 minutes later they approached us asked if we were buying today and then started shaking his head and said "I'll give you $4k but no, I don't even want it - i will never sell it" - i went to the bay ridge Toyota dealer and dealt with Ozzie and Miguel - they gave me 7,800 for the trade in and i ended up buying a very nice 2019 Highlander.

Everytime I visit the Bay Ridge Subaru showroom, I am always grilled by a Peter. However, after my latest visit, I was met by Gerald. He is the definition of professionalism.

11/02/21 - Edit. Gerald is still the go to sales person. Professional and Communicative. I’m a huge Subaru fan and probably will get into one eventually. Recently got an email and also spam from Diane who wanted to see our car for an appraisal. They offered top dollar. Good thing I scheduled a virtual meeting with Mike the manager. He saved us a bunch of time because they’re currently not looking to buy cars unless we purchase from their dealership. However the next morning, I get an email stating that they would buy our car, even if we don’t buy from them. So confusing! But gave me a good chuckle.

They really should be an option for 0 stars because that's what this dealership deserves.
I went there for a recall issue. Which came no cost to me. They took care of it best to my knowledge at this point I don't trust these people at all and I'll tell you why.
Upon leaving the dealership the young lady handed me his sheet of paper warning me my car oil was very low! Very dark! She also informed me that my brake fluid was very low dangerously low. Obviously something like this would worry anybody who understands the consequences of such a thing. I'm no mechanic but I'm no fool neither.
I obviously checked the oil immediately it was not Dark! It was not low! Neither was the brake fluid low! I brought the car to my mechanic that same day i showed him the dealerships print out diagnosis. He told me It was complete BS.
I change my oil every 2500 miles.
He told me that place is Infamous for ripping people off. Any which way they can. I shoud avoided it at all cost.
PS: don't bother replying to my review I have nothing to do with liars and con men.

My fiancé and I have had an incredible experience purchasing our first new car through Bay Ridge Subaru. Special shoutout to Christopher Malone, our sales consultant, for making it such a smooth, easy process and really taking his time to answer all of our questions. We never felt pressured or rushed, there was no "game" to play, we think we got a great price and the experience has been stress-free. He is very knowledgeable and informative, honest with us the whole way through. Very easy to reach via phone or email and an all-around extremely personable and easy to talk to guy! He truly went above and beyond to help us in purchasing our first car. We have placed an order with him and are now waiting for the car to arrive to complete the final paperwork. We could not be more excited! There's a reason this subaru has almost all 5 stars, best in the city!

I would give this place ZERO stars. This place is an unprofessional establishment with no care for customer service. I went for a car inspection and patiently waited until they were done. Hours went by and there were no updates on my car. After 4 hours, I decided to retrieve my car back because I couldn’t wait any longer. When I asked for my car back, it was suddenly “done with inspection”. NOT A SINGLE PERSON informed me of the car being complete. There is no proper communication here. The workers here do not care for their customers or their time. I will NOT return to this place again.

Could not get these guys to sell me a car. I initially contacted Bay Ridge early to mid-May, interested in a couple of the cars listed on the site. After an initial conversation with an administrator, I waited to hear from a sales rep to discuss pricing. After a week or so I didn't hear back so I reached out again, a sales rep wasn't available, so I left a message asking to be called back. No call. I sent a followup email May 29 asking if I should pursue my purchase elsewhere, at which point, I got a call back from a sales rep. We discussed pricing and I told him I'd call back soon to move forward with the purchase. When I called back, he wasn't available so I left another message. When I didn't hear back again for several days, I called again and spoke with a receptionist who informed me they were taking reservations for sales calls, so I made a reservation for June 9th at 12: 45. I didn't hear from them until after 1: 30. I spoke with a different sales rep and told him Id like to move forward with the purchase of a specific vehicle, at which point he informed me the car was no longer available. To say the least, communication and customer service here was really lacking.

After weeks of getting the run around I called a different dealership and drove home in my new Subaru that weekend.

Okay wow, attentive, informative, well priced. Andre was great. Overall the process did take 5 hours, but it was overall painless other than the waiting, which was because they were very busy! Their finance person wasn't too pushy but was very informative and helpful! Great customer service, highly recommended!

Tried to come to the dealership to inquire about a new car.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE TO DATE (and I’ve been to a few others in the area before coming to BR Subaru).

1. The scenario: Had an appointment. They did not honor the timing because they were ‘backed up’ and understaffed.
2. The experience:
- Walked in, no front desk staff to greet you, and everyone who works there ignores you.
- Waited for over 2 hours
- During this time, another family who arrived after us was serviced first
- After finally getting a hold of a salesperson, the one-to-one experience was just as lackluster as the initial walk-in experience.
- They offered a ‘loyalty discount’ which still resulted in a total price that was $1-2K more than other dealerships in the area.

Overall, poor communication, complete lack of service, and no regard for a customer’s wait time.

Once again:
1.2 hour wait time
2. <5min talking time with salesperson

DO NOT COME HERE.

Got our 5th Subaru leased here (CrossTrek). Have had nothing, but outstanding experience here time after time. Straight forward, no tricks, no nonsense, just honest advice and approach.
Special thanks to our sales consultant Joseph Teti. Very knowledgeable, professional, excellent knowledge of Subaru products and features. Joe helped us select and order Subaru Crosstrek that we wanted.
Pick up process was flawless as well. All paper work was done quickly. Car was prepared beautifully and on a very short notice.
Once we got into new car Joe took his time to go over all features, set up the phones and answer all questions we had.
Great job by everyone at Bay Ridge Subaru!
