For a store as large as this, it's astounding that they wouldn't have a "working" restroom available for customers. When I asked around (while browsing in the store), they said I could go check in Athleta (which was right across the street). Guess what - when I did go and check in Athleta (at this point, I needed to use a restroom pretty urgently), they said their restroom wasn't working and I should go check in Banana Republic! So both stores deliberately sent me on a wild-goose chase instead of trying to help me find a restroom. It became obvious to me that the staff in both stores had been instructed to tell everyone (including customers) that their restrooms were out of order. Dishonest and inhumane, if you ask me. Store managers - do better!

(FYI, these stores are in a stretch of 5th Avenue without many cafes or restaurants. So, if like me, you are shopping on 5th Avenue and need to urgently use the restroom, brace yourself for an ordeal.)

One of the best experiences I have had shopping in person was at another Banana Republic location and this location was just as amazing, if not better. They give you just the right amount of attention without making you feel hounded and are right there whenever you need them. I, a man, wanted to try on pants from the women’s section and was super nervous but i was not made to feel weird about it at all and Larry in the fitting room was very attentive — they really made me feel so comfortable and helped me pick the best option (they were funny as hell too and that always helps!). Everyone greets you and it all feels so genuine like how can this be possible. Working for Banana Republic must be awesome because everyone has the best attitude. Thank you to the Rockefeller team for making my experience so wonderful!

Every time we travel to the US, my wife spends a lot of time and money in the store
The truth is a good clothing store, especially Nadim, for a reasonable price and good quality.

This place is very upscale more luxury items like leather and suede &Shoes tree floors
They carry Women. MEN & Children clothes

Watch out for bully and racist employee, a woman with around 40-45 years old who work there. She pushed me to the wall and tripped me up when I was walking inside of the rockefeller building. I know whe works there as she told cops “she is getting back to work” and I saw her inside of Banana Republic few time after it. Stay away from that location, don’t hurt yourself:)

After seeing Banana Republics new fall collection, I had to stop in store to try on a few items. Luckily for me they’re having a loyalty program sale, 40% off full priced merchandise. I ended up walking out with what I believe to be the best fitted suit and the lovely Laura helped me find my size and ring me up. This store is especially organized and well run!

Banana Republic is relatively expensive, but the pieces you get from there are made to last.

This particular location is important: while you could get the clothes at any other Banana Republic, this is their flagship store. Therefore, all the sale merchandise gets funneled into it. Keep checking this location - as it often gets an influx of pieces from other locations.

The staff itself is trained to style their customers, and if you can't find a color or style, they will be eager to help.

And don't forget, basic tailoring is free!

Came in with my husband. Sales associate greeted us and asked if we needed help. We told her we didn’t. As she walked away, she yells to another sales associate to “keep on eye on them! ” Made me feel unwelcomed and treated like thieves. Haven’t been back.

Extremely poor customer service and management. I ordered tuxedo pants for my wedding first overnight shipping on 7/3. After never arriving I call on 7/12 and speak with someone 3 times to cancel. No confirmation, no callback from a manager as promised twice. 3 days later, instead of cancelling and refunding my order they proceed to ship it to my apartment where no one is. Not sure what they expect me to do now. This place is a disaster.

This brand still remains so far off target. Looked at a coat for my wife that we saw in their display window which looked great. In store it felt like a dirty rug.

Same style found up the street which felt lush although at a higher price point.

Not much to say- it was a great Banana Republic! Very clean, huge and has lots of choices, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They had a 40% off sale for card members but, according to my husband, they apparently do that often so, idk just be on the look out.

They even had a seating area in a couple places if you, like me, can't fit into anything they sell at BR but your friend/significant other likes shopping there. That's always nice

Found a cute dress. Latisha in the dressing room was super nice and very helpful. I'd give her 5 stars. The lack of size 18 is what landed the review on 4 stars.

Came to NYC from TX to visit family. Went to BR to see if I could find some clothes for a new job working at a clinic. I had the BEST experience shopping. Mariah was extremely attentive, more than I've ever experienced even shopping at Nordstrom or Saks Fifth. I was honestly so blown away at the lengths she took to help me find some slacks or items they didn't have it on my size at that store.
Honestly, last time I had shopped at BR was years ago. Had a long hiatus from shopping there b/c I never wore anything besides scrubs at my current job. After this experience with Mariah and also seeing the upgrade in quality of clothes at this beautiful store, will definitely be shopping at BR again. I wish I lived in NYC so I could see her again! I hope I can find they had this level of store and customer service in TX!

Knowing we're in a pandemic, nothing pleases me more than see everyone following guidelines & be professional at the same time. Even the gentleman who assists you at the dressing room was very helpful & knowledgeable about the clothes banana Republic is selling. Awesome!

Hi, its Tamaya. I dont usually write reviews but last sunday i was really impressed with one of the banana republic's associate's behaviour. I think her name is Tasfiaa. She was the most sweetest person, bought me so many outfit choices, like she knew whats up! (ps, she herself was dressing up so nicely even in black) She got me matching jewelries too. AT first i was kinda conflicted when i entered into the store if i really should buy anything and just go to zara or somewhere else. But she changed my mind. I ended up buying two dresses, two tops and 3 pair of jeans and a earing! Made a store credit card as well from her. Very excited to shop from here also got to know that new clothing are coming soon? I am definitely coming back and hopefully i could get the help of Tasfiaa again!

Is this store closing? It used to be the flagship location in Manhattan but not anymore. I stopped in today for the first time in a while and was very disappointed. It looked mostly empty. There was hardly any clothes out on display throughout the whole store (both men’s and women’s). I heard the brand has been doing poorly, so maybe they are phasing these stores out. There were also very few sales people there and the ones who were did not seem very engaged in helping people. It’s too bad, because I remember when I fell in love with this chain just 6-7 years ago and frequented this store as a Luxe card member ️

Friendly customer service Lisa was SOOOO helpful and made it a WONDERFUL shopping experience. And BEST OF ALL WAS THE FABULOUS SALE. LOVED IT

As a long term gap-banana customer (10+) and former employee (I worked w/ the company for 7 years) I have to say visiting this store was one of my best experiences. This store will now be my go to when I am shopping at Banana Republic.

The staff were friendly, and I usually buy my tops and denim here. But during my visit, when i skimmed through items and asked about the prices, one lady from the staff told me that all sale items would come out half the sale price. And turns out it was only the regular ones! And on the ticket it said a different price, cashier told me she couldnt have the item coded with the price ON the tag and instead gave a higher price. It was misleading and disappointing!

Mgmt used to be good when I worked there. Other older women had an issue with college grads. Not much incentive to open card accounts or spend on clothes but the inventory was nice and they did offer stock options even to part timers. The location of the store is very good.

No wonder this company is going out of business. I opened a credit card with them and never got it so I went to the store and they sent another one. 6 months later they sent me a $15 coupon for my birthday. I went to buy something to use it and when I went to pay, they said my card was missing and account had been closed. The card company said I had to reapply but I would not be able to use my coupon. I took a deep breath, left everything on the counter and left.

A friendly men’s and women’s store, the staff are really helpful and the layout is really great. I this store sold me in Banana republic, i was never a fan before.

About banana republic credit card. When I apply for it in 4/2015. I only shop for shoes and a pair pant. I pay in 6/2015 for 94 dollars on phone. And I ask customer service I pay all right? He told me yes. After I dint receive credits card from banana republic. And then collection money agency threatened me. They no friendly said if no paid now two hundred after will be 3hundred. I scared go to stored to find a lady. She said she can’t help me because She only help for applying credit card. She just give a number just leave. I felt sad. When I walk I cried. So bad experience. After I call banana republic a week. They just give other phone number other phone number. After no phone number can give me so give me address.said write letter to company about your experience. I do. But after still no help me. I’m younger and English no good. I so scared and the money still growing up. After I pay 327. And then the company do charge off and get a bad report for me.
