I ordered my sangeet outfit from here and it was absolutely stunning. I had wanted very specific modification to my lehenga and Ave India made sure that every detail was sorted out according to my wishes!

It was a wonderful and memorable experience. The service was excellent. The staff was super helpful. They took the time to help us find the perfect outfit and the perfect colour for our special day!

Do not trust this store with your bridal needs. I never write reviews, but I had such high hopes for this store and was left so disappointed with my experience. All my other bridal shopping from different stores went seamlessly. At Ave, they were nice initially but did not get my measurements right or communicate the changes to their tailor. Several issues were not written down or addressed and I had to fly back and forth to NYC multiple times in the months before my wedding. The left sleeve of my blouse was so tight that I needed lotion and help from staff to pull it off. This happened on two occasions. The proportions were so wrong. I had to ask the tailor to please measure my arms again so we can resolve this asap. I would have preferred to try it on again in person but I could not fit in another NY trip, so they shipped it to me. It took 1 week to arrive because they used the slowest shipping option. After all the alterations, much of the threadwork and beading of the blouse was damaged, and now I have to find a local garment specialist to repair it in the week before my wedding. I spent over $6,000 on a beautiful designer lengha for my wedding ceremony and was expecting perfection from a store that advertises it's "designer experience". At the minimum I would hope to have my concerns taken seriously. They sent me these earrings in response, which I will be returning. Save yourself the hassle and go to LA at Fashion by Rohini or buy from the designers in India directly.

I never felt so beautiful! I recently got married in July 2023, and started my wedding lehenga process in November 2022. I desperately wanted a Falguni Shane Peacock lehenga and was so grateful Ave had this designer at their store!

This was the first lehenga I tried on however I wanted to do my due diligence and went to other shops in the NYC area but ultimately went back back to Ave. I knew I wanted a blush color and the Ave team helped make this happen.

This lehenga originally came in a beige color, however I was able to customize it to the colors in the photo. The Ave team worked with the designer to help advise me in the correct color palette and also helped rush order a second scalloped chunni/dupatta. I chose a foil lehenga and it was extremely light weight!

Unlike a lot of Desi clothing stores, Ave was super friendly and provided helpful service! No pressure to have you buy anything and you were able to try on as many lehengas as you wanted. Service was A+ and the store was tidy, clean and beautiful.

Also! Can I just say how they were perfect with my measurements, like down to the cm. I lost a bit of weight closer to my wedding and they altered it complimentary. It fit me like a glove.

Yes, these pieces are pricey but they are also designer so keep that in mind when you are comparing it to lehengas in other shops. For me, when I was bridal shopping the shopping experience was just as important as the outfit itself. When spending money for your wedding you want to ensure you feel in control and walk out happy. I didn’t feel like I got any kind of decent service when I was looking in Long Island, Queens or Jersey. Thank God for Ave!

Priyanka and Devin were great. They showed me what they had and Priyanka helped me try on things. They even shared their opinions which was helpful. They only had “model” sizes which were generally small for me but I could still try them on and get a good understanding of what looks good on me and what I like to help narrow down my search.
They have a good collection in store especially considering this store is not in India.
They also do trunk shows for specific designers that they announce on their IG. Unfortunately I was not in town for one of those.

My experience at āve India Design Collective was really one of a kind. All of the members of the team (especially Mansi) made me feel very comfortable and at home. The owner and team were all very welcoming. They helped make our experience very special, with snacks, coffee and ample time. The team truly went above and beyond to make the whole experience perfect. Āve India Design Collective is the perfect stop for any of your shopping needs, they collaborate with designers (like Mayyur Girotra, who was present at the time, for one on one consultations via appointment) to showcase unique pieces that will definitely stand out at any event. This is a place you’d l not want to miss!

Had the most amazing experience picking out my reception and sangeet lehengas from Ave, India! We customized both lehengas and they came out perfect - neither needed any alteration and were delivered earlier than expected! The team was always available to help with any questions I had and extremely supportive. 100% recommend for all Indian designer wear needs in the US!

The best place in New York to shop Indian traditional dress. They have all the luxury collections. All the staff are very friendly and genuine. They took their time to explain everything and let us try as many dresses/jewelry as we want. Great shopping experience.

This would be zero stars if I could do that. When I was making the purchase, the sales agent were good and I was told that the outfit would be made to my measurements and alterations would be done if the fit was not perfect. Received the outfit and the fit is not great and i followed up to get the alterations done. Was informed that alterations are not included, which is completely opposite of what I was told when I was making the purchase. Will not be going back to this store and for others would strongly suggest getting what they promise in writing than just taking their word! Very dissatisfied and disappointed on how this whole thing was handled

AVE has an eclectic collection of mens Indian formal wear. Definitely ask for Mansi, who was super helpful and knowledgable about men’s options!

My family and I had the absolute honor of being able to get a very last second appointment at this amazing boutique after my reception dress came in the mail from India and it was nothing short of a disaster (three weeks before my wedding). From the second we walked in, Amit Shah eased ALL of our worry’s and concerns. He truly made us feel like family and made our situation his and handled it like a true professional. Everyone who works there dropped everything and stepped up to the plate in a blink of an eye and helped in every way possible. They were all on the phone contacting designers, tailors.pretty much EVERYONE they could think of to help us ensure I had the ultimate lengha and boy did they deliver! I was able to walk out with the most STUNNING reception outfit I have ever seen and it was beyond everything I thought I ever wanted. I am forever grateful to Amit and Ave India for having amazingly beautiful in stock pieces to choose from but for going above and beyond when all seemed hopeless and lost for us.

Perfect place to find your desi bridal outfit. They have a variety of designers and styles to choose from. Personally, I was looking for a floral lehenga with colorful embroidery and found the Shyamal & Bhumika collection to be the exact match. I even got to meet the designers during their trunkshow over the weekend. The whole staff is so kind and patient, they helped me on every request. They're very generous offering chai and biscuits, and even brought out a glass of champagne to celebrate my picking of dress! I felt so confident and taken care of, HIGHLY recommend this place! Ansi and Myyra were great help and made me feel heard. I'm so excited to see my dress!

I had the BEST time shopping for my wedding lehengas with Brinda & Mansi. Definitely ask for either of them when booking an appointment. Brinda immediately got my vibe & vision, and helped me select outfits to try on. She welcomed us with her bright smile & her enthusiasm for finding the perfect Indian outfit for her clients. She’s great at spotting outfits to try on that fit your style. I asked her a bunch of questions about the trendiest materials, designers, and style for bridal outfits, and she was super knowledgeable in that space, which was helping me to choose a lehenga. Her excitement for her clients makes the whole experience so different and more fun. Mansi was also very wonderful to work with. She was very friendly and definitely has an eye for style. When I was trying on outfits, she was such an expert at pairing and giving you jewelry to try it on with, which really gave the outfit a whole new look and feel. She was also amazing at styling the dupatta so that you knew how it looked like all paired together.
If you’re looking for Indian clothes, whether it be as a bride to be or a wedding guest, Ave is a place you seriously need to drop by!

Sending my gratitude and thank yous to Team Ave for helping me find my dream lehenga for my wedding. My dream was to find a traditional dress, but in ivory coloring to represent our cultural fusion wedding! The team was incredibly supportive and allowed me to try on a number of options with no restrictions or rush. They even helped find my wedding jewelry as well, which was such a huge help! Lastly, Devon was so precise and attentive in making sure my dress was perfectly tailored.

I wish i could give 0 stars. I had a bridal appt here to shop for 3 of my events. I had high hopes as when I have walked in here in the past, I have had a pleasant experience with some of the female employees! For my bridal appt, I was working with one of the male employees (who I am assuming is a manager, maybe owner not sure). He didnt introduce himself to me, so I have no idea what his name is (first red flag in an appt)

As a bride, I was expecting to get asked about my vision, what I am looking for and then get helped to find some pieces that may match my vision. Instead I was told to walk around the store and find pieces that I liked to try on (second red flag). It felt like I was just another person walking in, and not a bridal appt at all. Then when I asked if there were some customizations possible (which I know some designers that this store carries DO), the response was a either a "no" or "that wont look good" - I dont know why he was giving me so many of his opinions when I was not asking him if it will look good or not, I was asking if it can be done.

THEN after a few attempts, I was told to go to Edison to get a custom piece made "based on my liking". (third red flag)

Then I asked to look for some sarees and I was looking for a specific style of silk sarees for my ceremony (as I am Maharashtrian and we wear silk sarees for our wedding), I was told that the styles of sarees I was looking for were too old school, and I will look like a "buddhi baa" (old/grandma) if wear that style as a bride (fourth and last red flag)

. Ok sir, no one asked you for your opinion about MY preference and you also just disrespected my culture, AND old women/grandmas (bc lets be honest, some of our grandmas' sarees and jewelry pieces are amazing, classic, evergreen, HEIRLOOMS)

I was extremely turned off by the service I was received, and I will not come back here or recommend this store to anyone.

Go across the street to Anita Dongre, I literally went there after this experience, and had such a pleasant experience. I was able to try on a lehenga without appointment (the lady said her other appt was running late so I could use the bridal fitting rooms!). They were very nice & helpful, and they wanted to work with me to understand my vision (as any boutique that carries designer lehengas should).

I had a great experience ordering my Sangeet and reception lehengas through Ave! They have a a large selection of outfits from a variety of designers which was very helpful for me to figure out exactly what I wanted! Priyam was so helpful in helping me order exactly what I want with the customizations that I requested. My clothes were delivered with plenty of time to spare and required minimal alterations. I would definitely recommend Ave to any future bride!

I had the most amazing experience at Ave when shopping for my bridal lehenga! I was being helped by Prapti who understood my aesthetic so quickly and brought such a lively, enthusiastic, and fun energy to the whole appointment. She brought me matching jewelry and would drape my dupatta to perfectly capture how the look would be on the actual day of my wedding. Just when I thought I had a good appointment but hadn't found the 'one', she pulled the perfect lehenga from the back room and I absolutely fell in love! She made me feel so special and when we came back to the store to finalize the purchase, she brought out champagne and was so excited to celebrate with us. Afterwards Amit was very helpful in showing us matching jewelry sets that would go with my color combo and blouse neckline and his expertise was extremely useful to the whole process. I even went to Anita Dongre and Sabyasachi afterwards but did not feel the same level of care and attention that I had received at Ave! Their selection is vast and they will definitely have something for everyone. Make it a point to visit this store for any of your Indian clothing shopping needs!

Really disappointed with both experiences at AVE. The first time I walked in to look for Sherwanis for my husband the store associates were very rude to me and proceeded to ignore me and my sister for the 30 minutes we were there. I chalked it up to them being busy and us not having an appointment. The second time we made an appointment for my husband to look through their options - they paired him with a completely unknowledgeable associate who failed to ask even the most basic of questions. My husband is not Indian and this being his first experience trying on Indian clothes did not allay any of his anxiety. I purchased my own wedding lehnga from Falguni Shane from another store out of state so know the process of working with the designer - knowledge of which this associate was not able to provide. Shouldn’t have expected much from someone who fails to understand the difference between a planetarium and an aquarium… Don’t waste your time at AVE if you wanted to be treated with patience and respect - we went across the street to Anita Dongre to salvage the day. Two stars just because they have a wide selection with great designers.

They were so accommodating and stayed over their closing time patiently for the final selections. The staff are so helpful in giving professional opinions and hearing our ideas. The place is clean and have great style

I cannot tell you how much I love this place. The staff is so friendly and so helpful. I have gotten so many outfits from here not only for myself, but family as well, and they have all been perfect. They've always kept in touch with me as well to give me updates. Couldn't recommend enough!

Their selection is very good, but their execution and customer service is where they are lacking completely. The week before my wedding, they lost my outfit and claimed that my family took it - security camera footage became involved and my entire family (and bride) went through several days of sleepless nights and stress. On top of this, my now wife's reception dress was horribly tailored/altered to the point where we needed to take it to a non Indian tailor where we spent a lot of money to get it properly fixed (Ave altered it once and then said it was the best they could do). Unless you want to stress and constantly follow-up, go somewhere else.

The team at Ave, did a great job with my mum and my sisters future mother in law, helping them find a traditional sari. We looked at their entire collection. The team was patient with both the mum's together. Helped them sort out very nice sari's. Both mum's left the store happy with the purchases. We recently received our order from India, it was packed very well. They as well even shipped out a trial blouse prior to stitching the actual blouse with the Kanchi Saree.

I"m excited to bring my mum back again, to purchase her sari for my sister's wedding! As well for me to place my order for my sisters Sangeet night! As well my sister's Wedding reception outfit.

My now husband and I bought almost all of our outfits here - his Sangeet and Ceremony outfits and my Reception outfit. While they have a decent selection, the customer service is absolutely awful. Once you give them money, they no longer care about you. I have never experienced customer service as bad as they have here. First of all, even though they take your measurements, the tailoring takes MONTHS to get right. We had to go to the store numerous times to try on the outfits because they could not get the tailoring right. You also have to fight with them to get them to tailor it to your liking. Second, a week before our wedding, Ave LOST my husband’s ceremony sherwani. The week before our wedding. They claimed that we took it home (by the way they don’t keep a record of anything). After fighting with them, guess what? They found his sherwani in the store. Wedding planning is already so stressful - outfit shopping should not be causing you more stress. Please do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere but here.

Bought my Sangeet outfit from here and they are such a pleasure to work with! Everything has been a seamless process especially with all the uncertainty with covid, they have taken a lot of my stress away. Thank you Ave! Plus their selection is really nice compared to other places in the US.

This place has lovely stuff! Found a great sari here for an Indian wedding, we were so disappointed with Anita Dongre close by and we chanced upon this store. Great selection of stuff and good service. Definitely recommend this place for more fasion trendy clothes in India.

Awful customer service experience. My best friend found a perfect wedding dress and after deciding to buy it, the saleswomen said the price of the dress was higher than labeled and refused to honor the price on the label. This is misleading and illegal. I will be contacting the BBB.

Visited the boutique just to take a look around, and Amit was extremely helpful. He was very accommodating regarding sizing questions and general knowledge. 10/10 Would def visit soon to shop the different pieces and would recommend to friends and family.

Fabulous store with an extremely diverse collection of clothing and designers. From suits, to lehngas to incredible saris. What is even better is the range of designers! Icing on the cake is that they also have men's clothing. Piece de resistance is jewelry by the most respected jewelry House of Kishandas from Hyderabad. Had they opened earlier, I would not have to go to India twice for my daughter's wedding shopping. Even after extensive shopping in India, I bought 2 exquisite saris that I had not seen in India, especially a unique Parsi Gara embroidery sari. The staff is very passionate and knowledgeable about their products. A very much needed store in the USA!
