Anchor Bar

Five star all the way. We have been visiting Anchor Bar at this very location since almost year 2002. Their service never changed a bit, and the food quality never varied may have even gone way up instead. There is no other place, only one, this one!

It's a great bar and lots of memorabilia around. Great wings although I always go for the boneless.

Another first for our traveling group of 6. Home of the original Buffalo wings and there were none left ~ SOOO GOOD!

The birthplace of the famous dish is Buffalo wings. The food is delicious, there are always many visitors. The most interesting thing is inside. Would like to stay longer

Great place! I only gave it 4 stars because you can smell the unclean beer taps when you walk in. We went right when they opened with a troop of boyscouts and had a great time!

I've literally been going to Anchor Bar for 40 years. It's just as great now as it was when I first went in 1983. It's worth the trip to Buffalo just to get wings there!

Just because a place is known for being the original home of chicken wings doesn't mean it's good! The wings here are absolutely awful. Even if you order them crispy the texture is still terrible because it's such a low quality chicken. There's a huge difference between chicken that is pumped full of hormones and chicken that is not. I'm certain that the chicken they use here is pumped full of hormones because it has that terrible rubbery texture! I bit into a chicken wing and the texture was so disgusting I couldn't even eat it, it's like chewing rubber. If those are the kind of chicken wings you like then this is the place for you. But if you want a higher quality chicken with good texture, or like your wings crispy and not rubbery, go to Duff's!

Straight forward fresh food. Fried dill pickles were very nice. Bar and dining area. Antique motorcycles adorn the walls!

Had to give this place a try since I was in the area. I mean, when an iconic restaurant presents itself, it's a must. I will say the place itself is pretty cool with a dive bar kind of feel. The wings were good.but they are definitely making money on the nostalgia. The wings were $15.99 for 10, but they were small. Definitely had bigger, and better for cheaper other places. This was probably a one hitter, quitter for me.

Their wings are truly famous. Amazing interior with lots of going on. Great for families with kids as well as a great place to hang out with friends and watch some sports the the bar. They also have a souvenir shop on site.

Pretty good for a tourist trap! The place was crowded but they handle the crowd well. I sat at the bar, drank a beer, and had Buffalo wings. It was legit.

I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, but disliked the customer service.

We ordered a bucket of wings (50 pcs), but we received 3 wings short. They eventually issued us 3 more wings later after I brought it up to their attention at the end of our meal.

Another thing is that I didn't like the tone of how our server was replying to us. When we were ordering, we asked what their best seller was. We got a very condescending reply of something like "Ugh, buffalo wings. " I know it was a valid enough question. I wanted to know a variety of things with that inquiry. It can be from what flavour of wings was commonly picked by customers or what other dish orders are common selections. I would not know if their burger was also a popular menu item if I did not ask. There are many pleasant ways our server could have better addressed that question.

Lastly, there is this minor gripe of mine about not being any wifi available in the diner. It would have been nice to have guest wifi present, which in turn can lead to some welcome promotion for the place due to instant posts or stories about check-ins. I know the restaurant also has guests coming from outside the US like from Canada and they would not always have mobile data available to them.

Good thing that Anchor Bar really has a good product that makes it easier to overlook the quality of service we had. We tried both honey garlic and original medium flavours for the wings's 2 sauces, and both were fantastic. The honey garlic was deliciously sweet, and the original flavour was just the right amount of hot to still be tasty to eat. We were also able to sample a couple of appetizers like the coconut shrimp and cheese sticks. Both of which are great choices.

The bucket of 50 wings was presented very appetizingly in a silver pedestal, which would ever so often come out perfectly in pictures. A small part of me kind of hoped they serve it in a literal bucket, which I believe can be set up to still give off the same grand presentation they are going for.

It's a tourist trap that does not disappoint! The wings are very good! I would ask for them to be cooked well done or crispy, but great flavors! The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was friendly, fun and interesting! You can buy sauce too!

Any lover of chicken wings will make the pilgrimage to this place, the original home of the buffalo wing. The wings are pretty good with the medium (original) sauce, but not earth shaking good. The atmosphere is pretty cool with license plates on the walls, and motorcycles and more.

I absolutely loved this place! Great food and an overall great experience. I would love to go back. The wings are the best I ever had. I highly recommend this place.
