ABC Kitchen

I went here with a few coworkers for dinner after an event. I have a sensitive stomach, and generally look for farm to table places since they’re easier on me. Overall, I would maybe go back if it was on the company’s dime, but wouldn’t go back just yet and spend my own money.

Food: For the price, the food was alright. Nothing blew me away, but nothing was bad. I had the cod. The portion was somewhat small, but it was enough to fill me up. We got Calamari as an appetizer, which came out nice, hot and fresh. One of my colleagues got mashed potatoes as a side that was particularly good.

Atmosphere: the atmosphere was more upbeat and lively than I expected in a good way. (busy chatter, music was pumped up but not too much) the decor was tasteful, lighting was good, and overall it was a place you could go for a date night, small group of friends, or colleagues.

Service: the service stood out here. Server knew some great menu highlights to suggest, had good recommendations on drinks and dessert, and checked in frequently. I do wish my water was filled a bit more often, but they were pretty busy.

Took a star away for atmosphere because there was randomly a dog barking near the bar area — when I inquired about their pet policy I was told service animals are allowed but in my experience service animals only bark when their owner is endangered and the owner was just calmly standing at the bar so it was a little jarring.

Other than that, the service was attentive, pleasant and thorough. Food, drinks and dessert were incredible. Can’t wait to go back!

Food was OK, too bad for the sorry excuse of what could have been fries (too mushy, not crisp at all). Bit overpriced and very far away from a Michelin recommendation. On the bright side, they had Chartreuse (vert) but the amount you get is way out of proportion. Almost a quarter of a wine glass for a 110 proof liquor is way too much, you need at least an hour to sip that away.

Amazing spot for a night out with friends. Good food for sharing (small portions though), so make sure you order 1.5 dishes per person. The Truffle Pizza is a must, along with the crab cakes. Big place, plenty of space for big parties and nice cocktails! Definitely coming back.

Came here for dinner, and sat in table. I like the atmosphere and the low noise level. Ordered Kampachi Ceviche (daily special), Skillet Bread, Fried Chicken and Popcorn Sundae. Loved each one of them, especially the Sundae! Will come back for more dishes.

What happened to this place? Used to be my favorite. Last couple times has been consistently sub par. Last week had a 7: 30 res and didn't get seated until 815, then had salty food. Didn't have the bottle of wine I ordered from the small list. Think the move is to stick to abcv

Food was fantastic and service was great. Nice designed dining room, and a few tables outside (the patio) for outdoor dining.

Cocktails are fantastic, and the food is fresh and delicious. Plenty of healthy options if that’s your thing. But also other items that’ll satiate the need for a heavier meal.

Highly recommend.

What happened here.
Pre-COVID the menu was fun and tasty. Today (Dec 29 2021) it's a bit odd and the food is ultimately bland.

Skip the carrot and avocado salad.
Skip the fried chicken entree - somehow fried chicken was just bad.

Reservation are easy to get now. And I understand why.

Beautiful restaurant and the presentation of the dishes is outstanding. You clearly pay for that and to take a nice picture for Instagram rather than the real quality of the food.

When I called to reserve a table I was given a menu that was completely different from what they serve. Absolutely disappointed in this place. Deceiving customers.

Place was recommended by a native and we couldn’t have been happier! The ambiance is lovely…. Eclectic and romantic. We sampled several items including the avocado and carrot salad. Who knew a roasted carrot could be so tasty in a salad? The calamari was served with two dipping sauces. For the entree, we indulged in the sea bass. Nothing short of wonderful. The broth was complimentary and not overwhelming. The lemon adds a bit of unexpected zing. We did ask to omit chiles since we aren’t spice girls. For the grand finale we chose the apple tart Tatum. Perfect!

I notified in advance it was my daughter’s birthday and she was surprised with a chocolate cupcake. It was a special touch.

The space is tight, so be prepared to meet your neighbors. We sat beside a fun TX couple and shared tasting notes and NYC ideas all night. It really was a great experience!

After a few months we were back at ABC Kitchen and so looking forward to another delicious meal.
Unfortunately, we were so disappointed. The general theme of the night was “we are out of…”. From a not extensive menu, the choice for meat was basically a burger.
But we were open to try something different, we ordered the salmon which was nice and the Black Sea Bass which was really not great. Sea Bass with steamed spinach and potatoes in clear broth. This dish was so boring and flat and the broth was salty. Fish was perfectly cooked but that was it for this dish.
Then we ordered dessert but to continue with the theme of the night they were again out of Apple Tatin as well. They did offered a complimentary Pana Cotta and did not charge me the tip, which is appreciated.

It’s such a pity how this night turned out, the staff was really nice but this is not how you would expect a restaurant of this category to operate.

Loved it, came with my husband for dinner. Food is so delicious, staff is so nice, great space.will be back for sure. One of the best restaurants in NYC

The calamari and pizza we ordered was good. We also ordered a salad however, the bread was very hard and dry which made it very uncomfortable to bite. Throughout our entire meal which was at 8: 30pm, we felt very rushed. The server kept coming but to pick up dishes that weren’t fully empty and they brought out the next courses very quickly. This made it feel very rushed and we didn’t fully get to enjoy the experience of the restaurant. Additionally, the cocktails weren’t great and for manhattan prices the glasses were definitely on the small side which didn’t feel worth it. Lastly, though the restaurant has a nice calming feel to it when you first walk in, once you get into the main dining area you realize that the tables are super close together and you can’t enjoy a private conversation. Also the seating was on metal chairs which for such a fancy place could definitely be improved.

Exceptional food, vibe and service. Came here for my sister's birthday and the whole experience made her special day memorable. Will definitely come back.

Love the modern/chic vibe here. Food is delicious, ingredients fresh, and staff attentive. Great spot for a date night out. Has been around for many years, which isn’t easy in the City. A bit on the pricier side but considering they use organic ingredients only, the price point is justifiable/reasonable.

Overall a good experience. What I liked was the vibe and design of the place. The food quality was good, but nothing spectacular.
The main downside would be the speed of service. Despite reserving in advance, it took us a while to be seated and handed a menu (which I had to flag down). The waiters were friendly, but definitely lacking on the speed and attentiveness.

We had been to abc cocina many years back and had loved our experience. Decided to hit abc kitchen and weren’t disappointed!

We went for brunch and we’re surprised by the amazing options for vegetarians!

The chef is known for their pastries so we got the cheddar biscuits and pistachio babak buns for appetizers. Both of them were decadent!

Cheddar biscuits (10/10) - I loved the texture on the biscuits and flavor on point.
Pistachio babak buns (9/10) - very complex and flavorful. Kinda like a Cinnabon for adults.

For brunch:
Soft boiled eggs (20/10) - this was probably the best brunch dish I’ve had. Incredible fusion of flavors and fairly light.nit: this is small portion so you’ll need a second entree. The yolk was nice and soft boiled.

Roasted carrot and avocado salad (8/10) - the roasted carrot was perfect. If not for it, the rest of the salad is basic.

Squash soup (5/10) -wife seemed to love it but the flavors were a bit of a miss for me.

Crispy potatoes with garlic aioli (10/10) - they’re just potatoes but cooked perfectly crispy. I need to learn how to cook potatoes so crispy.

Drinks: I got the citrus and sage (7/10) Very interesting but super herby and grassy haha. Proportions were on point.

We booked outside and had an impossible time trying to communicate in advance with the restaurant to switch inside given the rain. We finally got switched inside once we arrived but we sat for at least 40 minutes without even having our ordering taken. Then we waited almost an hour and hadn’t even gotten our drinks yet. We regularly saw the servers huddling and chatting by the water station. We made the server aware that we were hungry / thirsty and all we got was “I’m sorry”. All our food came eventually except for a salad and the waiters justification was that everything comes out “as it’s prepared”. Eventually we asked to cancel it and he kept assuring us that he would take it off the bill as if this wasn’t assumed. For a restaurant that should be considered upscale by way of quality and service, it was disappointing that no one seemed to care that our experienced was horrendous and completely impacting our experience at the restaurant. Will not be returning.

Wonderful ambiance and great food! The tuna crudo was fresh and light. Each of our entrees was cooked well, presented with attention to detail, and tasted delicious. Would recommend making a reservation ahead of time, if possible. We were lucky and got seated right away without a wait, but the restaurant was busy

Dutch baby and the salad was pretty good. The service was very slow, we ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter would not come to pour it. The wine bottle was kept at their service area so we had to keep waiting and waiting with our glasses empty. The soup was super salty and the lobster roll was quite disappointing also. It was very cold inside, I had to have my Canada goose on the entire time which was uncomfortable. With so many amazing restaurants available in the city, I would definitely not go back.

They had me at the multiple kinds of margarita pitchers. But the food was really great and flavorful! Fried chicken tacos and the arugula salad surprised us in the best way.

Brunch was good all organic and flavorful. Forgot my calamari order but offer it for free.
Burgers was delicious and the baked eggs.

Been here quite a few times. Always fresh, creative and delicious, up to JGV typical high standards.

The truffle pizza with farm egg is so good that we ordered a second one.

Not cheap but you get a high quality meal.

We were there on a busy Thursday evening and my only complaint is that service was rather slow. Very professional though. Just too slow. I think they could use another bartender too.

Oh My God in heaven beyond 5 stars! The food and menu is out of this world delicious, we enjoyed a basil jalapeño and ginger margarita. We ordered an arugula and Brussel sprout salad and added shrimp the only problem I wish I didn’t have to share it - that good. Husband and I shared fish taco, a mushroom and a chicken all were flavorful and we were doing the happy dance. We didn’t want this experience to end. We shared a pear vanilla ice cream and the people next to us were watching again our happy dance they ordered it as well. The space is hip, it’s busy and our service was also beyond 5stars. Thank you Jean Georges please come to Orlando. The best!

So the two stars are for the service as they were very attentive. That's where the good stops because the food was terrible. We ordered quite a few dishes of everything, as it was a group of 16 of us and the consensus was well meh! If you are in NYC you are definitely not missing anything by skipping this place.

A superb take on fresh, local and organic produce in a busy but wide setting. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Celebrate my birthday with my family at this beautiful restaurant. The food and service is amazing. The salads are very fresh. My son love the Truffle egg pizza and I love the Sea Bass Desserts so yummy highly recommend We all had a great time. Thank you abc kitchen?

Food was great and eclectic. Everything is prepared fresh, so there was a bit of a wait. Price is higher than other brunch spots.

One of my favorite places in New York City. Absolutely beautiful setting and incredible food. Have been for dinner twice, but very excited to return for breakfast as well!

They had my favorites and I tried some new dishes as well!

- Peekytoe crab toast is a long time
Fav: 10/10

- Ricotta with strawberry jam (and I believe olive oil) was more on the savory side. Reminded me of middle eastern labneh: 8/10

- Truffle pizza with egg So, the first one they brought us was WAAAAAAY OVER SALTED. And I like salt! The second one has the perfect amount of salt but the egg on top was essentially well done (it’s supposed to be runny) : 8/10

- Carrot avocado salad with Crème fraîche is a standby: 10/10

- Peach tart tatin 100/10

- Blubbery Yuzu sorbet with ginger cookie 10/10

- Chocolate cake was good but nothing crazy special 7/10

The ONLY area for improvement (other than nailing that pizza) would be to get bus people (support wait staff) who look like they want to be there. The woman who was helping us looked liked she would rather be anywhere other than there.

We've made a reservation at the afternoon for 21: 00. A lot of dishes we wanted to order were finished already (way too many). If that's the case don't take our table reservation.

Service and food was delicious. The roasted carrots and avocado salad, and truffles egg pizza was my favorites.

The salmon was some of the best salmon I’ve ever had. Would recommend. The tomato and berry salad and carrot avocado salad were both great. Carrot one was even better than expected. The truffle pizza was good as well. Peach trate was good but not the best of dinner and drinks off menu were a bit off. I ordered a martini and it came in a regular glass. Pacing of meal was also a bit off but no big deal.

The food was dynamite and the experience was wonderful. It was hyped up a ton, and while im not sure it matched the huge expectations I think it was pretty darn close.

One of the best places we had in NYC. Beautiful and very welcoming restaurant, beautiful decoration and excellent service. We had Burgers and it was delicious. Don't skip the pizza it's amazing.

OMG. So good. Everything was delicious, atmosphere inside on a hot NYC day was perfect (cool and somewhat dark). Drinks were delicious (fresh rosemary as a garnish), Eggs Benedict was fresh and lemony. Even the bread basket was the bomb. 5!

Dined alone and was directed to the bar. Bartender was initially too busy to notice me and took a while to get served. Food was alright but my expectations were higher based on reviews. Nice atmosphere but wouldn’t say it’s a must try.

Wow! Started with the fluke and crab toast. Incredible. Truffle pizza was perfect, ravioli and squash blossom pizza were also fantastic. Service strong. The summer squash side was star worthy.

Homemade sodas were a nice touch too.

I enjoyed my lunch here. The food was well presented and unique. Who doesn't love having blueberry yuzu sorbet on fancy china?

I really liked the truffle pizza with the cracked egg. Although we had to send it back because it was likely accidentally over salted. The egg is supposed to be runny and when pizza number two came it the yolk was completely dried up. In any case, it still tasted good.

I also liked the crab toast. It was rich in flavor yet light and decadent.

The waitress was very accommodating and felt bad.

The service was absolutely awful, they spilt water multiple times and we waited 2 hours for our appetizers to come. So we have just decided to pay the check and leave. Just not good enough fully disappointed.

A lovely time. The hosts are gracious and really know hospitality. Food is good, with a limited menu but I didn’t mind as it made decision making much easier. The sea bass and mushroom pizza are delectable. The chocolate cake is so decadent and photogenic. The place was really busy on a Wednesday and glad to see business picking up again.

THE BEST! Beautiful restaurant inside. Drinks are creative and amazing. Food is out of this world. Menu is ever changing but we got the spinach and goat cheese pizza, the cheeseburger and fries, and the seabass. All were phenomenal but the pizza was out of this world. Must try. Our waitress was so sweet I wish I could remember her name but all of the staff there were wonderful! Definitely a pricey place but great for a treat or a night out. If you make a reservation online and tell them you’re celebrating something they bring out a surprise at the end of your meal!

The food was amazing but the service was so slow. We ended up staying for 2 hours for our meal.

The place is very nice, it is a big restaurant that is very pretty and great for a date night. The food is great although expensive. I’ll especially recommend the caramel popcorn sundae.

Highlights are definitely: (1) the lighting and table settings, naturally, (2) the mezcal grapefruit paloma cocktail, and (3) the squash blossom pizza!

It was my first visit yesterday and I’m so impressed. Top notch food, ambience and service. I’m making it one of my favorite restaurants in NYC.

Very interesting menu. Some classic food but with a different take. Not somewhere I would eat on a regular basis but definitely come here if you want a little culinary adventure. Fried chicken with habanero butter is really good!

What a beautiful dining experience! From the soft candlelight illuminating whitewashed walls to the exposed reclaimed wood beams to the handmade ceramic dishes, everything about our meal was perfect. Excellent service and a wide variety of farm to table type offerings. The carrot salad and strawberry ricotta appetizers were a nice start to the meal, along with warm crusty bread and a glass of cool crisp rose. The ricotta ravioli was very nice. As was the goat cheese kale pizza. Salmon was another entree choice, and they also offer a burger. For dessert, we couldn't pick just one so we tried the berry crisp with ice cream (warm, crunchy, served in a small cast iron skillet) the chocolate cake (totally decadent) and the panna cotta (impossibly smooth and creamy). From start to finish, everything about the meal was on point. I really enjoyed my evening out with friends at ABC Kitchen.

Not sure what happened, I remembered it way better 2 years ago. Food is ok, in many cases flavors are unbalanced and weird. Menu is very limited. Overall it doesn't justify the high price.

Always fresh and flavorful, the kitchen has been consistently good for years and will not disappoint. Fun tip, if you can't get a reservation - grab a seat at the bar. The bar has the full menu and when you're there tell Avery I said Hi.

Impeccable service, fantastic cuisine. Thank you for the ultimate dining experience. This will stay with me for a long time.

Absolutely love the vibe, the decor, and the food! You could tell how fresh the ingredients were and the food was truly so delicious! Adequate veggie choices! I cant wait to try abcV next time!
