Atlantic Oceanfront Hotel

Fantastic location and very reasonably priced. It wasn't full, so the two sweet ladies at the front desk upgraded me to an oceanfront balcony room, which I greatly appreciated!
Parking is free, but it's tight!

What a gem. We had the chance to visit after missing the chance to visit with friends earlier this year. When it comes to seeing the ocean this is about as good as it gets without being in it. Anyplace that can make my dear wife shut the TV off to take in the sight and sound of the surf is doing something right. Clean rooms. Not over fancy but very comfortable and well stocked. The people at the desk have always been very nice. Now, if we could just catch up with those friends sometime. I need to add, this property has done some upgrades to the balconies and rooms and it really turned out nice.

Superb motel, very well maintained despite its age. Direct access to the beach, clean room and facilities. Accessible and worry-free parking. Good price.

A very middle of the line hotel, everything you'd want on vacation without over the top luxury, pushed to top tier by the ability to fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing.

We always love staying here! This time was even more special. My sister got married in Wells. All of the staff were so helpful at every turn. We had a great stay and very happy with everything.

We were there during the off season but it was great because the beach was quiet. Location is fantastic - right on the beach. Will definitely be returning.

Great room, amazing views of the ocean, and easy access to the beach. It was awesome to be able to walk over to the Beachcomber / arcade on a rainy day, too!

We love staying here. We get an ocean front room every year for the past 13 years. It’s a great location right on the beach. When you have little ones it’s convenient to be able to just walk up the stairs and be at your room. We always look forward to our stay!

Love the location and service, we spent time there twice this summer. Highly recommend the Ocean view rooms.

Pros:
-Right on the beach.
-Walkable to a few shops, arcade, and quick bites to eat.
-Quick drive to many Wells attractions.
-On-site parking.
-Pool is clean and warm to swim in.

Cons:
-No elevator available at all and most guest rooms are on floors 2 and 3.
-If you have a room above you, you will hear EVERY, and I mean E V E R Y, movement and step.
-The WiFi is the slowest since dial-up and constantly cuts out. You’re better off using your own phone data.
-Our coffee maker stopped working after brewing one cup and was not fixed/or replaced after reporting.
-Our room had questionable stains on the walls that could have been blood.
-Very basic room, one night stand with two plugs to share between two beds, and underwhelming shower head/pressure for the cost per night

Oddities:
-Room service: The information in the room binder states to leave a sticky note, provided in-room, on the door if you don’t want service that day. There were no sticky notes provided. However, there is a bin system with confusing instructions.
-Named as a hotel but very clearly a motel (even the banner on the back of the building calls itself the Atlantic Oceanfront Motel).

I have been bringing my family here every summer since 2003. We love being right on the beach or using the hotel pool. The kids like to go treasure hunting at Buckland Rock, or take a long walk to the jetty by the harbor. The staff are like family year after year. I miss my home away from home all year, until we can be there again in summer.

Bed was very uncomfortable. Heard feet overhead from floor above us. Sounded like a herd of elephants. Very clean and location was great!

I've been staying at the Atlantic Oceanfront Hotel each year for almost a decade. The location is perfect (right on the beach), the staff is welcoming, polite, and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

Great place to vacation! We have been coming here for 19 years and love it! The location and views are amazing. The owners have made major updates overs the years and it looks amazing!

Beautiful and clean rooms, room service was top notch! I love having the option to put the bin outside the room and within the hour it was full with whatever I needed.

Conveniently located on the beach which help when you have small kids and a lot to carry! In cooler days the pool and the seats were always clean.

We have been coming here for more than 8 years and enjoy the Hotel and the people. The location right on the ocean is beautiful and we enjoy the views of the ocean from the balcony.

We enjoyed our stay at the Atlantic Oceanfront Hotel. It was our first time staying there even though we have been to Maine many many times over the years. Our room was large and clean, we had access directly to the beach, and there was a very refreshing pool as well. The only drawback is that there is only one parking place per room. This wasn't a problem for us, but might be a problem for others who had to take two cars for whatever reason.
Overall, this is an excellent place to stay if you're looking for someplace right on the beach. There are also rooms with balcony facing the ocean. If we were to go back, I would definitely try to book one of those.

My family and I have been coming to the Atlantic Oceanfront Hotel for over 20 years. It used to be a family vacation with my parents, grandparents, and cousins. It has turned into my vacation for the last few years. Upgrades are made somewhere EVERY year in some form or another. The owners Kevin & Deidre make our return feel like home and like we are visiting family every year. The customer service that they and their staff provide is unmatched. I couldn’t think of a better place to relax and unwind on vacation. The beach and the area around the hotel provide so many activities for every age group. From great restaurants, breweries, golf courses, an arcade within walking distances and nice boutiques. I am not one to leave reviews, but I cannot speak highly enough about my lifelong experience with what feels like our second home and the family that makes it feel that way!

The view was great and the room was cleaned and well stocked up. Only complaint I had is the beds were extremely loud when your tossing and turning. The bed I slept in was ok comfortable wise, but everyone was friendly. I didn’t get much sleep due to the bed.

Very Clean, great location! The older women at the front desk is miserable. Like she should be in a nursing home or something. Kinda Sad!

Room was spacious and clean. Direct beach access. Easy walk along the beach to the Lobster Pound, a beautiful setting, quiet community, and friendly staff. Exceeded expectations!
