Artist & Craftsman Supply Portland

Been going there since 1976 from my college days, they have it all when it comes to art supplies and crafts, and their staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

This is my number one go to spot for any and all art supplies. Love the people who work there and they always seem to have everything I want and need.

Fantastic selection and fair prices. Professional, and I just haven't seen many stores at this level even in larger cities. Great for things you'd Normally have to order online and hope everything goes alright. Some staff seems knowledgeable.

They have the most variety of art supplies that I have ever seen and very helpful staff. This place is awesome!

Coming to Artist & Craftsman Supply is like being a kid in a candy shop. There is a wide selection to choose from. I have taken artwork here to be framed, bought gifts, brainstormed ideas while at the shop, bought random supplies for specific projects, and bought an extensive set of silk dyes. I love this store!

This is a fine art store containing all the accompaniments of a bold driving artist in today's contemporary world. You're going to find things here you're not going to find other art stores. This is where they send you when you're in our college. This is not some flim-flam flimsy way and whimsy man happy pot. That's my review of arts and Craftsman supply store

Awesome! Rarely do I get to the area (Portland) but OMG! Where I live there is only hobby lobby or joann's for artist to choose from so artist & craftsman supply is such a welcome choice! It is great! So many choices and really really decent prices. I got some new tubes of watercolor, some great paper and my first Princeton brush! So happy right now! Thanks A&C supply.

Everything you loved about the art store as a child, preserved, genuine. It has everything you could imagine as well as fun toys and games. A treat place to go on a brisk winter day if you are puzzled as to what to do with your child. I love and shpport this place

This place has absolutely everything! If you cannot find something at Michael's, guaranteed you will find it here and probably for a lot less money than the conglomerate craft stores. Whether you are a professional artist of any kind, art student, or a hobbyist, this shop has got you covered!

I spend at least an hour wandering through this store every month or two. I always find fun craft projects and the prices are decent. Great place for paint, brushes, and canvases.

It's very cool, they have everything, but their prices are 50-100% higher than you can find elsewhere for just about everything.

It's the best store ever, with the best real artists supplies in Maine.
Period.

Their paper selection is absolutely to die for. Awesome ready-made frames, or custom framing available. And paints and pencils in every color and type.

But, one of the little known extra special things about this store, is that they have the best gifts ever for creative people!
If you're looking for kids or adults presents, you will absolutely find something here. And beautiful, beautiful handcrafted paper bags to put the presents in!

There's parking out back so don't be intimidated by the parking situation out front! There's a whole lot out back to park in.
Just drive around past Big Sky bakery.

But make sure you stop in for a cookie after, and give them some love too, because Big Sky rocks, too!

My new favorite hobby store! They have everything any kind of artist could imagine. Today was my first time shopping here I left with more than I went in for but am definitely satisfied with my experience. Friendly staff and lots of fun stuff to look at.

My go to art supplier, it's very easy to spend more than you planned here as they have a very wide selection. Staff are knowledgeable and more than willing to help out and be a sounding board for projects/new materials. Just recently went to a new medium and they helped point me in a couple different directions, explaining what I could expect with the medium, and different thing I could do with it.

Super happy with them I have no problem going back whenever new inspiration hits, or just to pick up some replacement pieces. If your in the Portland area, this is a go to shop to visit for art supplies.

Amazing selection of art supplies of all kinds as well as lots of fun gift and craft ideas.

Great store! They have pretty much anything you can ask for related to Arts and crafts! Stuff for young children to experienced professional artists! And everything in between! I was stocking up on wax used for sealing letters! The staff were very nice and very helpful. I had lots of questions and they answered them and didn't make me feel like I was being a bother.

It's my go to for all my art supplies. They have a great variety of paints, frames, paper, pens and pencils. They have an awesome section right when you walk in the store of knick knacks (that make great gifts). This section of the store is one of my favorites

Glad to hear you're open. Sad to see the framing dept.is gone. Most of my art is oversize framing (that is, most of my art is over (38 in. X 58 in.) and I have been doing this framing at another place Portland.

I love this store! Just about every product an artist could need can be found here.plus lots of things if you need something fun for kids.

First time in, I absolutely love it here! Takes a few minutes to get your bearings as the layout of the building is kind of funky. Was very impressed with the selection. Staff seemed nice and helpful when asked for assistance. They leave you to it unless you ask for help it seems, which is how I prefer it so no complaints there. I will definitely be back’

Awesome little art store with all types of supplies and mediums to fuel your creative needs. Paints, pencils, charcoal, water color, spray paints, modeling clay, canvases, they all have it and more. Staff are nice as always and willing to help.

The store has less items since the last time I went there, probably because of Coronavirus. However, the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was super excited that the "Plus Plus" came in different color variations in tubes.
