It's a really cool vibe there. Very small but it wasn't busy at 7 on a Saturday night. Food was pretty good, definitely some interesting takes on a few things. Like the meatballs and stuffed peppers were fantastic, but the cold scallop on top of egg salad was just an odd combo. The octopus with potato was very mediocre. There's a ton of stuff to try so I know there's gonna be some things that hit and some that miss.

Service was mostly fine, nothing actually bad about it, just wished they had taken the time to explain what they do there and give an explanation to at least the charcuterie board. We had to eat hustle another table get the run down to know what we even had.

It's definitely a spot I will return to and explore more of the menu.

Probably one of the most authentic tapas joints in the upper Midwest. The cook is from northern Spain. We were in spain last year and this place is on par with the quality you can expect. Great wine selection as well. If you want a tapas joint in Des Moines this is your place. Anything else is probably not a true tapas restaurant.

I simply love this place. I've only eaten in a few times, but the boards/selections/curations are SO tasty. I love the atmosphere and look of the restaurant, and all the staff are very knowledgeable about the meats and cheese and are attentive as wait staff. My favorite thing is to get Purveyor boards as pick-up options for hosting book clubs, parties, family dinners, and more. You can order online and they give you PLENTY of food. They always have it on time and have never gotten anything wrong. If charcuterie is your thing, it is a must.

Had my wife's birthday there with a group of 10. They were very accommodating, and reasonably priced. Excellent food, drinks and service. Would recommend to anyone.

I've picked up tons of charcuterie boards here for different events-photoshoots, get-togethers, etc. Yesterday was the first time I had ever eaten in. I did a wine flight (selection of 3) and shared a half board (2 meats & 2 cheeses). It was a great pre-dinner snack! I think next time I'll try the Cuban sandwich. The guy sitting next to me was raving about it! The space is mainly set up for quick pick-up/take-out but there is bar seating, tables downstairs for several small and one large group. There are also tables upstairs before the catwalk. There were people there solo, some studying, some doing work, and a group rendezvous. We were there on a date. It's really a versatile location. Geneviève was our bartender. She was extremely helpful in helping us make our selections. The store manager was also very pleasant and answered my many questions. He definitely knows the business well! Highly recommend!

Great place to have a charcuterie board! The sandwiches are fantastic as well - great meets, cheeses, and bread, and all are fairly priced. They have several wines on tap as well and service is good.

My wife and I visited The Purveyor on a date night and it could not have been more perfect. Drew and his team walked us through the menu (meats, cheeses, wines) and then hand-crafted us an amazing charcuterie board. It was SO delicious, and we’ll definitely be back!

The Purveyor is a fantastic wine and cheese bar. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and take wonderful care of you. We enjoyed chatting with our server as well as the chef. Wine is delectable as well as the food. We will definitely be back.

What a gem! This won’t be for everyone but if you are interested in a special experience, pairing a sandwich that is top notch with a wine that is a surprise is what you can expect here together with a very personal touch. Thanks Drew for making a great evening in a great neighborhood even better.

My first meal in Des Moines, so perhaps I've been spoiled. This hot sandwich is amazing (the Baron). Not only is the pork delicious but the bread is outstanding. Coupled with a good Sangiovese from the wine bar, this was a simple lunch to remember! And tonight apparently is paella night!

Excellent place for charcuterie board with a wine pairing. Knowledgeable and helpful staff with a great atmosphere! Grilled cheese sandwiches are professionally made, and are superb!

Last Christmas my kids ordered a basket of food as a gift for me. When I arrived at designated pick up date, it wasn’t prepared. They quickly threw some items in a sack. The majority of food was less than palatable, except for the dessert. Extremely disappointed and the kids were so disappointed because not what they paid for. If you order…. Stick strictly to the desserts.

This is such a cute place in the East Village and truly fits right in! The people here are top-notched. Very friendly. I wish I could rank it higher than a 3 star but, their charcuterie game is a bit disappointing. Their cheese choices are too “safe”, very mild tasting cheeses. I would’ve loved a better variety—a soft or hard funky cheese would’ve given their board a bit more life. The Cheese Bar still does it better. Their sandwiches were decent.

My husband found this place and surprised me for lunch. Fantastic cheese, wine, and knowledgeable staff to guide us thru it all. A must go to!

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for awhile now because I’ve heard nothing but good things. Super helpful and friendly staff gave me the rundown of their offerings, I went with the Purveyor sandwich that was prepped in the cold case. It includes Berkwood black forest ham, smoked bacon, Genoa salami, Prairie breeze white cheddar, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic aïoli and arugula. I would give it 10 stars if I could! Also picked up a few of their desserts which look divine. I can’t wait to go back to have a glass of wine at the bar!

The hot sandwiches are just amazing and you're seriously missing out if you haven't had one yet. I'm excited to go back to try more of their selection.
