Far West Mexican restaurant

The food is more than likely contaminated bought several dishes my self. More than likely need shut down. Victoria I believe here name is kicked me out for no reason me being a paying customer. Complained for my money back the manager and coworker both sumoned the police for no reason.

This is the ONLY restaurant in lorimor iowa and they are the best and they are my people they try their best and now with the grocery store open I promise they will take most of the business from whistlestop all they need is liquor in the grocery store and they got in the bag

I called to place. Was told it would be an hour and a half for pick up. Decided I was not going to go through lorimer and wait for that long.
Then I got a call from a friend, that said let's go to lorimer for supper. I never told him I just called there.
We went and were served and done eating, before the 1.5 hr time I was told for wait time, on the phone.
Not sure why all that went on, but I will never call again, I will just show up.

The food was amazing! Delicious! Large portions. So glad we made the trip to Lorimor. The service was great too!

I love this little place in my hometown, food is always great & plenty of it! Waitresses are very friendly & capable.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. The food and drinks are wonderful. I haven't had anything that wasn't good. The margarita shakers are money.

Very good food chilly rellenos, with ground beef best I ever had, sea food stuff is awsome, I'm really picky about eating out, this place is very very good

Putting Lorimor, Iowa on the map! We live in Florida now but always stop for one or two meals when we're visiting family in the area. My favorite would be the carne asada tacos and margaritas but honestly we've been very happy with everything we've tried.

We headed down to Lorimer for Mother's Day. The food was fantastic! They were a bit crowded and people had to wait but everybody took their turn and everybody got fed. The tacos al pastor were insane!

(Great as always, previous review) I was excited for Far West to open when I lived in Lorimor. From the start the food has always beeen great, but the customer service has always just been a step higher. I've talked their food up to everyone and most if not all have had a great experience there. My last visit was for my birthday and although my favorite meal (Far West Carne Asada) has changed it was still a great meal and everyone had a great time. I was unfortunate enough to forget my birthday card and gift cards at the restaurant that day. Called and asked if it was still there and sure enough it was, the lady on the otherside of the phone was kind enough to send it to me rather than me drive an hour to just pick it up. I have always liked this place and now it is my favorite not just for the food but the customer service. Will definitely make another trip out there and hopefully not forget anything to important.

Prices are good, and well worth it. You get a lot of food and it is fantastic! The place is very clean and the servers were very friendly. The shaker of margarita's is the way to go. And you should get one to take home.

When we first started going here it was excellent. Over time the portions have decreased and prices raised. Need more flavor In chimichangas. Still a nice clean place to eat.

Beef Taco shells smell like dirty dish water, taco meat was bland.
Beef burritos was bland no flavor at all. Food was not hot. Server was very very nice!

I was there opening day and over time, have tried everything on the menu. Excellent friendly and prompt service. Clean environment. The food is excellent from the first bite. The chips and salsa are my favorite appetizer. My favorites are the fajitas, steak and eggs for my girlfriend, Robin Searl. Easily the best food anywhere!

It was a great place to eat in a small town. We had steak, shrimp, and chicken fajita and ate it on three different time for two people. P.s. They need more tortilla shells for what we got.

Wasn’t worth money. Staff kept staring at us. Soda tasted bad and after 10 min asked me for a different choice. Steak fajitas had hardly no steak and chimichanga had little meat and flavor. The original server didn’t come back after the drink exchange. Which we got water. Then the other server filled drinks and ask if we were ready for check. Then original server brought check. We were charged for soda we didn’t drink and didn’t leave a tip as it wasn’t deserved. Huge let down on food and service.

Very good. Best Mexican restaurant for miles. Winterset, Creston and Osceola Mexican spots don't hold a candle to this place. Worth the Drive if you're craving Mexican food.

In the past the food has been excellent Yesterday was a disappointing one It's clear to see That the new menus and new Food items have not improved the food What once was a proud menu is now a sad excuse Our food items No flavor Small portions In the past they gave good portions and a food not only looked great but tasted great Today the food did not look good look good my burrito California chicken had no flavor at all And inside the burrito was a small portion of chicken and that was it no flavor The chilly chunga of my guest also No flavor and it was soaked in oil and fried

Very good food. 1st time l went their l didn't like it. I order Hawaii Fajita it had lots of red pepper flakes. Was to hot for me to eat.

Food was EXCELLENT! Very large portions. The server was very nice and made a good drink too! I WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK!

Love the quality of food and service. Restaurant is a cute diamond in the rough of Lorimor. Only wish they stayed open later on Friday and Saturday nights instead of closing at 8pm. Stay open and use that amazing bar!

Surprisingly nice, clean, and open. Food was great and large portions. Service was great and friendly.

They have some nice shrimp tacos, and their carne asada fajitas are awesome. I suggest the avacado tostada as an appetizer. Please get some Bohemia I'll get you the fifth star!

Great food! Best Chimichanga I have ever had! And I have been to quite a few different Mexican restaurants! Great server and nice atmosphere!

The food is absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff. Definitely worth a drive from Des Moines.

They know how to take a reservation. They do not know how to keep a reservation. Standing and waiting on a table was a covid fest. Wasted an hour for nothing.

Great food, great people! That was our first experience there and we were quite impressed.

First time visitors. Clean place and friendly waitress. Prompt service. We were disappointed with the tortilla chips. They tasted stale or like they had been fried in rancid cooking oil. The salsa was okay but no kick. We ordered the beef chimichangas. The filling was tasty but the tortilla was thick and difficult to cut without a knife. Rice and beans were good. Generous portions. I had a small margarita. Apparently they don't serve the frozen type there, which I asked for. It was tasty but blended. Overall, other than the icky tasting chips, we had a good experience.
