LPS Dental - Lincoln Park

I was absolutely terrified to return to the dentist. Yet, with the suggestion from a lovely friend I tried out Dr. Shaw's dental practice. I have never felt more comfortable in a doctor's office, much less a dentist's. Dr. Shaw and her team all welcomed and respected my anxiety I expressed over my current dental situation. I am genuinely excited to go back and begin the me-specific health plan Dr. Shaw has planned out.

Do not go here unless you like being scammed and taken advantage of. I was coerced into a deep cleaning, despite having perfect teeth for 25 years. I was told it was detrimental to my health to ignore it. I made it very clear I did not want the deep cleaning and that I was wary from the beginning. Then they told me I was subjecting myself to the risk of heart disease and other things, so I caved. They claimed they verified with my insurance that out of pocket costs would be $300 or so. I paid out of pocket over $300 total for 2 deep cleanings the day of service. Over a YEAR after my procedure, I got a bill for almost $700 because insurance has denied it 3 times. This office has done nothing to help me and is claiming I am responsible for $1000. It is clear I never needed the deep cleaning procedure. It was long, painful, time consuming, and expensive. All for nothing. They over prescribe because they want money. Do not go here.

Side note - I recently saw a new dentist who said “wow I’m really surprised they told you you needed that, I wouldn’t have recommended it”

Staff is very friendly and helpful. They take the time to understand your issues, process and offer solutions. They are super professional and have gone out of their way twice to help me with pain and scheduling an emergency root canal. Highly recommend.

I have always loathed going to the dentist, but when I found Dr. Mell, all of that changed. She was so patient and kind with me, and I eventually grew to be comfortable in the dentist's chair. I followed her to Lincoln Park Smiles, and everyone I have interacted with there is equally kind, patient, and gentle. I also know that I am getting excellent dental care that will help me maintain a healthy smile. Update: Since Dr. Mell left, I have been delighted to keep LPS as my dental care giver. I feel confident and at ease whenever I visit! I love Jackie, the dental hygienist-she is such a fabulous technician, and is also just a nice person. I am so happy I have stayed with this practice even though my original reason for visiting is long gone.

I have been seeing Dr. Jack for over 15 years. He is an amazing dentist. The staff who work for him all are attentive and very professional. The dental hygienists Jackie and Nicole are both wonderful. If you are in need of a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Jack.

LPS does an excellent job. They have very good communication on appointments and services, including texting which I appreciate. They are prompt and efficient when you arrive for your appointment, I’ve never waited more than about 3 minutes! Dr. Shah does excellent work and has a great demeanor. The cleanings are the best I’ve had at any dental office. Highly recommended.

I’ve been coming here for a few years now. Overall, the staff is very friendly, the space is clean and welcoming. The only things I would recommend improvement on is the transparency of the $25 cost of the fluoride rinse they just hand you and maybe some TVs or something to look at while they clean your teeth.

As a patient for 8 years now, I couldn’t recommend them higher! I literally look forward to my appointment just to be able to catch up with everyone. I had tons of issues with my teeth when I first visited and they helped me on the path to recovery and made it an enjoyable process instead of something I loathed by being encouraging and understanding.

I have been going to Lincoln Park Smiles for over 6 years now. Over those years the level of dedication and care their team has provided has absolutely blown me away. They have clearly explained things such as bills before you agree to a service, laid out options for care, patiently listened to my concerns, and always been extremely quick to squeeze me in if there was ever an issue. What I really love about this place is that they’re thorough and they listen to you. I had a TMJ and uneven bite issue issue that dentists would overlook in the past that my dentist here finally addressed. They even did free PCR tests during the pandemic to ensure that clients weren’t ill. Plus, cool toothbrushes.

My hygienist (Katherine) was so personable and easy to talk to that it made the whole experience at LP smiles great! It was literally the highlight of my day - never thought I’d say that about going to the dentist! Haha. But she really did make the whole experience so comfortable and enjoyable.

Dr Jack and his caring staff are the best! I’ve been going to LPS for over 20 years and always feel well cared for and well informed about my dental health. Dr. Jack is passionate about his work and the people he hires are too.

So I am so grateful for Doctor Jack my son was in an accident and lost his front teeth the team and staff were amazing to him and fitted him for partials until he gets implants. He is only 15 and so we are so nervous but we put all our trust in Jack Manikowski because we know he is the best and such perfectionist.

You receive a warm welcome the moment you enter the door. The entire staff are friendly and professional. I feel comfortable, am welcome to ask questions, and never leave confused.

Lincoln Park Smiles is absolutely amazing! With the welcoming staff and amazing dentists you are sure to be in good hands. I was never a huge fan of going to the dentist but since I have been coming here I actually enjoy the experience and they continue to update and inform me from a preventative care perspective. You are in good hands with them!

I used to be scared of the dentist. Yes, I'm an adult and I'm a wuss when it comes to going to the dentist.

After trying to make an appointment at about 5 other dental offices, I found LPS to be extremely easy to book an appointment online. They also text you reminders of your appointment and it is an actual person that reponds back to you, not a robot!

My first time going to the office it felt like I was walking into a 5 star hotel because I was greeted by an extremely professional gentleman named Steven. He was very professional and friendly. Even at the end of my visit, he walked me through what to expect next and how my insurance works. You can tell he's very sharp and it's great they have him there to answer questions for patients! I know it's hard to find gems like Steven because you find more long acrylic nail wearing receptionists that are on their phones who don't know what they're doing.

I didn't wait very long to get seen. Usually some of the dental offices I've been to you have to wait 30 mins to an hour to get seen, even with an appointment. So I was really surprised how efficient this office is!

Jackie is by far the best dental hygienist! She was really funny and I did not feel any pain when I got my gums numbed for my deep cleaning session. She has great technique so you know you're in good hands! I was in and out of there so fast I was so surprised! Jackie is the absolute best! She also gave me a bunch of goodies (toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, etc) before I left. I bet she hands out full size candy bars for Halloween seeing how generous she is!

Carole was another dental hygienist that worked on my teeth as well and she is SUPER charismatic and funny as well. It seems like they hire only the best here!

I am so thankful to have found this dental office and will be recommending everyone to come here.

Nicole is my hygienist. She is AWESOME. The sweetest, most gentle hygienist you'll ever meet. My teeth feel so clean and amazing after my visit and I feel like my dental hygiene has never been better!

She makes the whole experience pain free and pleasant, which is hard to say for a trip to the dentist!

Don't go here they play with your money, 3k$ for 4 teeth fillings and 900$ teeth cleaning, with insurance so they say* I didnt feel safe in their either, being Poc. The dentist was very rough on me and damaged my tooth, i went to a different dentist where they accept my insurance aswell in humbolt park and only had to pay 180$* a very big difference so i know they where scamming, in the long run this place is not it

I do not recommend this practice due to lack of transparency on routine exam/cleaning charges and because of the unnecessary treatments and referrals I was given.
I recently went in for my routine dental exam as a first-time patient. I sent my insurance information two weeks before the appointment and requested a few times to get an estimate to make sure the appointment was covered as preventive care. I only got a text message on the day of my visit saying that the appointment should be covered. During the visit, no one explained the cost of additional treatments being done and whether they would be covered by the insurance. Finally, I had to pay unexpected out of pocket charges for a regular checkup and cleaning. I was also told I urgently needed to see an endodontist as something was seen on the X-Ray exam! I ended up going to the endodontist and paying for CT scan (not covered by the insurance) only to find out I didn't need any treatment!

Great positive experience start to finish! This was my first trip to LP Smiles and I'm happy I have a new dentist in the neighborhood.

Dr. Shah is amazing! I had seen her 5 years ago & then she was no longer in network. I had a dental emergency & she was now in network so I am so happy to be back in her chair. She is very transparent with the best course of action. The office is quaint & modern. Great location & easy parking. The front desk staff was very personable & extremely easy to schedule with. They were able to get me in within 24 hours & able to get me quickly scheduled for a full exam later in the month. I look forward to being a new patient here!
